Anchor’s Buckingham Lodge is a purpose-built modern care home. It provides friendly care within a comfortable and relaxing environment. The home is finished to the highest standard and benefits from impressive facilities for customers to enjoy, such as cosy quiet lounges, well-maintained secure gardens and a café. Each bedroom has an en suite wet room and underfloor heating as standard.

The team are pleased to be continuing to welcome permanent residents and those who wish to join Buckingham Lodge for respite care.

The home provides residential care, which is personally tailored to meet the individual needs of customers and enhance their quality of life. Anchor works with customers and their loved ones to create detailed care plans. This ensures each individual’s health and care needs are continually met. Anchor prides itself in dementia care and provides on-going training to care staff to ensure their approach always reflects best practice. Buckingham Lodge is also a pet-friendly home.

During a very difficult time in the family’s lives, Buckingham Lodge welcomed not just Gran but all the family with open arms. The team, from the management through to the chefs, are kind, considerate and not forgetting great fun. They have made a huge impact on Gran’s life by offering a safe haven
and comfortable surroundings. The new manager has had a positive drive on the daily activities for residents which have much improved. It’s lovely for family to be able to join in and visit at any point and be a part of the open days and special events. We find great comfort knowing that should Gran’s condition deteriorate she can remain here as further advanced care and assistance can be provided. Any requests she or we have had and any queries have been dealt with immediately and with great understanding.
Anyone looking into care homes for their loved ones really should give Buckingham Lodge true consideration.

The care, professionalism and affection for my mother by the carers was wonderful. Many of the carers were long term employees and with her during the whole of her stay. My mothers needs changed and moved on. The dementia ground floor was suitable for mild to medium forms of dementia.

My sister-in-law has been in this home well over a year and a half, the care she gets is very good, the manager and staff are so helpful any problems they sort them. The home is kept clean and tidy. I've been a few homes with different relatives and this one is certainly the best. Everything is excellent.

My grandmother has recently joined Aylesbury Buckingham Lodge and I can highly recommend the attention to care she has received. The manager and the care team work efficiently and with the utmost care and respect for the residents. I am very happy my nan feels safe and well looked after.

So pleased that my mum is in this "home". Knowing how the staff "care" for her puts my mind at rest. I leave after visiting knowing that she is in "safe" hands. The staff constantly go out of their way to ensure that all of the residents have as much of a full-filing and enjoyable life as possible.

My father was a resident in this home from Feb 2016. He died in his room in November aged 86.
I wish to thank all the helpers and management for making his stay such a happy and pleasurable experience and in particular the last week.
He felt as if he was part of one big happy family and was always
content.
A big thanks to the caterers as my father put on over one and a half stone during his stay.

My mother in law was slightly reluctant when she first went into Buckingham Lodge but over the last two months, she has settled well.
The difference in her from sitting at home in front of the television to now taking interest in what is going on around her and even joining in is absolutely lovely
to see.
The staff and residents are all so friendly and she is so well looked after by the staff.
The district nurse and the doctors' visits are all taken care of.
I can only highly recommend the home!

Wonderful caring staff wonderful care home.


The rooms are airy, comfortable and cleaned every day.


The menus are changed every day which makes you feel hungry just looking at them.

Mum moved into Buckingham Lodge in December 2015 for respite care but she settled in so well that we decided to make it a permanent move.


The home is clean and modern but it has a very homely feel. It is also very well thought out with some quiet lounges and a beautiful, secure garden.


The food

is excellent and made from fresh ingredients. Visitors are also able to enjoy a meal with their relative - Sunday lunch is recommended!


There are daily activities which help keep all the residents engaged. Mum especially enjoys singing and dancing!


The staff are all very attentive and caring. Mum always looks very well looked after and we feel that she is very happy and content at Buckingham Lodge.

I chose this care home for my mother after visiting several in the area and gaining personal recommendations. I was impressed by the welcome I received and by the value for money. The staff are supportive and gentle and have complete respect for my mother who could be described as difficult.
The room
is clean and very comfortable and feels homely. The home is in the centre of a vibrant community, which is important. I am particularly impressed with the care planning element. My mother is healthier than she has ever been.

I have visited numerous homes throughout the Country over many years, this is one that I would most certainly select as of the highest standard.
It is welcoming, spacious, well cared for, and all the staff act in a thoroughly professional manner.
Always aware of treating all residents in an appropriate
manner to meet individual needs.
The best accolade that can ever be given is to ask the question, if I was in need to move into residential accommodation where would I choose for myself, and without doubt it would be Buckingham Lodge.
Buckingham Lodge sets the standard and is an excellent example of a well run home.

My father in law has been a resident at Buckingham Lodge care home for just over 3 months now and has settled in extremely well. He tells us the staff are lovely and my husband and I both agree with him. We feel reassured that he is well looked after, is safe and living in a clean and modern accommodation.
Buckingham Lodge has a friendly welcoming atmosphere and we are able to visit at any time, share a tea or coffee in the dining or cafe area or just sit in the lounge and chat. We would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to anyone.

Buckingham Lodge is a very caring care home.
From my initial requests for information, through to providing a trial run of residential care for my Mother, to finally supporting her in the first weeks of full residential care, they have been very helpful and supportive.
The service is first rate and
they cannot do enough for the residents, always making them feel at home. It is also very pleasing that they allow a lot of freedom to residents, who are capable of getting around and also provide entertainment and trips out. I never thought my Mother would be so happy.

From the moment I looked a Buckingham Lodge (BL) as a possible home for my nan, I knew it was the right place. The atmosphere is very homely & filled with happy faces, both staff & residents. My nan has been at BL for 2 months now. She arrived a shadow of her former self but since being at BL her confidence
has grown enormously & every time I visit I see more & more of my nan again. The staff are fantastic & treat my nan so well. They encourage her & the other residents to take part in activities & be involved without over-powering them into something they don't want to do. Nan has gained weight & looks really well. She has made friends with many of the other residents & her sense of humour is certainly back. The focus of BL is to support the residents in being as independent as possible, which for someone like my nan who is a very independent & proud lady, is perfect. It's a joy to visit my nan & as her family we know that when we leave she is safe, well looked after & among friends.

Simon Meredith

Job Title: Home Manager

Hello!


My name is Simon, and I am the Home Manager at Buckingham Lodge.


I am originally from Lancashire but moved to Buckinghamshire at the age of 18 years. I have spent all of my career working in adult social care, mainly in the charitable and not-for-profit sectors.


I’ve worked across all of the different care sectors, and I believe I have gained a good understanding of the issues that people in our care experience, as well as an appreciation of how daunting it must be to move from the family home into residential care. The thought that I am in the privileged position of being able to influence and have a positive impact on people’s lives is very motivating and rewarding for me.


I am also passionate about supporting our staff to develop and achieve to the best of their ability. If we have a happy and engaged staff team, we should have happy, well-cared-for residents and a happy home – everyone matters!


If we can put each individual at the centre of all that we do, we can ensure that our residents are fully involved in all of our decision-making processes, enabling us to deliver care and support that is as individual as they are.


Away from work, I am married with two children and a dog. If I am not at Buckingham Lodge or at home (or out walking the dog), I can be found following the mighty Preston North End around the country.
