In a stunning purpose-built home surrounded by nature in Crowthorne, near Wokingham, Buckler’s Lodge is building a vibrant and welcoming 24/7 community of care where residents and their families enjoy award-winning residential and dementia care. Residents are cared for with a well-established methodology that is centred on keeping them as independent as possible for as long as possible. Care at Buckler’s Lodge means skill and compassion, but also a nice cup of tea before you even realise you want one, and a laugh when you most need it.

The home is part of not-for-profit group Greensleeves Care. Named in the Top 20 in the country, as a charity, Greensleeves’ focus is on people and not pockets and any surplus from fees goes back into continuously improving care. Buckler’s Lodge also offers Greensleeves’ Home for Life Commitment, which means residents will not be asked to move out if they run out of personal funds while in their care.

Everyone is most helpful. Because the place is new. The place is not quite coordinated. Not too happy at being given a special place for meals. There are no single tables.

My uncle and aunt have been at Bucklers Lodge for a week. During this time, I have found the staff to be helpful, courteous and always extremely pleasant. They tell me that the food is delicious. My uncle thinks the portions are great, but my aunt says they are too big. Overall, I am very satisfied.

My parents moved into Buckler's Lodge in March 2022 and have settled very well. They are well cared for by the staff, who are exceptionally kind. Since they moved in, I have particularly observed significant improvement in the physical and mental well-being of my mother. Currently, there are not many
residents and the activities are quite limited, although I am sure that more will be introduced as the number of residents increases. However, the staff engage with my parents throughout the day and the beautiful surroundings of Buckler's Lodge mean that they spend time in various parts of their new home, including the gardens.
