Under new management and ownership since March 2023, Burscough Manor is situated in the village of Burscough near Ormskirk, Lancashire. The home offers luxury residential, dementia and specialist/complex nursing care, provided in a friendly, safe and secure environment.

At the 80-bed care home, all rooms are stylish and complete with an en-suite. Burscough Manor combines the best of technology and modern design with the highest levels of premium comfort and care.

The home's experienced team is able to provide high quality, tailored and personalised care to every resident.

The care home is extremely good. We get regular visits considering the situation with Covid and the lockdown the staff are very good and manage very well. We cannot comment on some aspects as we are not here, but we go on what we have seen.

With this pandemic, there could not have been a worse time for my Mum to need the services of a nursing home and it is always a big decision when you have to make it. I can't lie, it weighed on my mind at the time. My Mum went straight to the care home from Hospital. From the moment she arrived the
staff have been wonderful with her and this in itself has been a source of comfort to me knowing she is really getting looked after well. As I said with this pandemic makes thing's like visits that much harder but the staff have been brilliant and have gone out of their way to accommodate the family with a safe visiting policy. They are always on hand even when I phone just to ask how my Mum is doing, nothing is too much trouble and I know that I made the right choice when I chose the home. My Mum is in a pleasant environment where she is well looked after. All her needs are met and she is safe. What more can a son ask for. So a big thank you to all the staff at the home, your efforts are appreciated.

I have been to the care home to do a visit, which was social distanced, and a very nice pleasant experience. All the staff seemed very professional, and my friend whom I was visiting appeared very well cared for.

Unable to visit during present lockdown, but the manager has kept me totally up to date with everything that is going on, gone way above to ensure we are totally involved from a distance. Could not recommend this home more highly, they have been absolutely fantastic, made us so happy.

Lizzie

Lizzie Brighouse

Job Title: Registered Manager

Joined: 2023

Lizzie has been working in care for over 10 years. Joining Sandstone Care Group in 2022, Lizzie has progressed through from Clinical Lead to Deputy, now being Home Manager at Burscough Manor.


Lizzie has a Master's Degree in Nursing, along with a passion for complex and palliative care. Lizzie is currently partway through completing a further Master's in Palliative Care.

Kirsty Faulkner

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2022

I have worked in the care sector since I was 18 and I have worked my way up from a care assistant to a senior care assistant. While working in care I completed my level 2/3 NVQ health and social and even progressed to complete my CHAPS degree within the company I worked for which also led me to further my career and become a unit manager.


I joined Ribble Court in 2022 as a senior care assistant then moved to Burscough Manor in March 2023 and got promoted to unit lead on the two dementia units and then was promoted to deputy manager in November within a short space of time.


Sandstone Care is an amazing company to work for. The whole team are very involved in the standards of care that all residents receive. Building a world that makes a positive difference to those in later life is a passion of all the team.


At Burscough Manor, we all work as a team and work to a high standard to deliver person-centred care to all residents in our home. Knowing that we truly make a difference in a person's life is the most rewarding. I love my job and the team. I am currently completing my level 5 leader and management course at the unit to progress my career further in years to come.


Andrew

Andrew Mason

Job Title: Clinical Deputy Manager

Joined: 2021

Andrew joined Sandstone Care Group in September 2021 as a registered nurse. He has since been internally promoted to Clinical Deputy Manager in 2023.


Andrew assists the Registered Manager with the everyday running of the home and ensures high-quality person-centred care is being delivered at Burscough Manor at all times. This includes but is not limited to, recruitment of staff, audits, medication management, reviewing care plans and having 1 to 1's with the residents.


Andrew has worked in the care sector since the age of 16. At the age of 24, he became a Mental Health Nurse and worked with the NHS for over 12 years. Since then he has worked in care homes, progressing from Nurse to Head of Nursing and now his current role as Deputy Manager.


Andrew is passionate about his job and likes to work alongside other passionate employees in Burscough Manor Nursing Home, to ensure the residents have the best quality of life they can possibly have.
