This charming twenty-eight bedroomed home is led by a long-standing, and experienced nurse qualified home manager. Conveniently situated within 1 mile of Aylesbury town centre and a short distance from the village of Wendover in Buckinghamshire, the home has been refurbished to a high standard, offering beautiful and comfortable bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms, welcoming living spaces, a relaxing hair salon, and a delightful garden where summer barbecues are hosted and fresh produce is grown and used in the five-star rated kitchen.

The family ethos and the warm relationships the staff achieve are greatly valued by both residents and visitors. The stable staff team receive significant in-house training, ensuring skilled and responsive care to meet the individual needs and wishes of every resident. Byron House offers a wide range of activities to suit each individual and aims to ensure that each person gets the very best out of every day.

I have had previous experience of the exceptional service at Byron House Care Home, so when helping my neighbour and friend find her final "home", I hesitate in recommending Byron House again.
I am in awe of the staff who are all so caring and attentive, they go above and beyond for their residents.
The home is well-run by a fantastic, caring management team, the staff here are angels and I can't thank them enough.

My mother has been so happy at Byron House Care Home since the first day she arrived. The home has a lovely, relaxed feel to it and the staff are all so friendly and helpful. Residents are treated with the utmost respect and dignity. Any health issues my mother has had have been swiftly attended to.
The communal rooms are spacious, bright and cheery and there is always something going on to make life interesting there.

Since moving to Byron House Care Home, my sister has been far more settled and much happier. She is treated with respect and the staff are friendly and extremely patient with her. She is settled enough to let us leave without trying to stop us or getting upset. Excellent care.

As soon as I saw Byron House Care Home and met the staff, I knew that this was the place that would provide the care and respect that my darling wife deserved whilst she bravely battled against the cruellest of brain diseases (PSP - progressive supranuclear palsy).
The friendly, family atmosphere greatly
impressed all the members of our family and friends who visited her during her stay. The high standard of its decor, equipment and food goes without saying and the care provided was exemplary.

Byron House is a very friendly caring home which I would highly recommend. The staff are all lovely and cannot do enough to help!
My friend's stay was cut short by her death which was such a shame as she did not benefit for longer.

Mum has been a resident at Byron House for over a year and has been happy here. She enjoys the food and the activities she takes part in. Byron House is excellent! The staff are brilliant and are extremely professional, caring, patient and considerate. My lonely friend wasn't happy or settling in her previous home, however, moving her to Byron House was the best decision ever. The staff are amazing and she is definitely getting the care she needs. She had lost a lot of weight (too much), however, since arriving at Byron House she has started to put

My mother, who until recently lived in her own home and was supported by carers. She has sadly spent six weeks in hospital, and as Byron House has such wonderful reviews, I visited with a view to making it Mum’s new home. Unfortunately, a hospital poorly and incorrectly discharged her to Byron House.
Although this could have been a potentially worrying experience, I need not have been concerned. This is when I knew I had made a brilliant choice! The team were so caring, attentive and thoroughly professional. They engaged with Mum, doctors, and the hospital and spoke kindly and fairly with me, her daughter to create a plan. There was no limit on their time or care. Mum is currently seeing a Doctor at the local hospital, which is in her best interest, but I have full confidence in every member of staff at Byron House for Mum’s imminent return. As someone who recognises teamwork and support, I have great admiration for every one of the excellent teams I saw in action today. Thank you.

My mum, who is living with Alzheimer’s, has very much benefited from being at Byron House Care Home. From our initial visit and through the application and moving in process, the staff were very helpful and sensitive to our needs. The bedrooms and communal areas are lovely. There are organised activities
every morning and afternoon and we are delighted to see her engage in these and to see evidence of this in some of the photos that they have taken with our permission. The care staff, nurses and management all help to create a friendly and familial atmosphere to make it feel like home. The medical care and attention has been excellent and we feel that Mum is safe and well looked after. Mum had a milestone birthday last week and the staff helped to celebrate it in various delightful ways including helping to organise a party and decorating the conservatory with balloons and banners and baking her a lovely, big cake. They also accommodated our family birthday party there.

Georgina Melo

Georgie Melo started her career as a Healthcare Assistant at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in 2011.


Her passion for providing quality care to adults and her fulfilment in making a positive impact on people’s lives led her to complete a First-Class Honours Degree in Adult Nursing at the University of Bedfordshire.


Georgie’s early career experience included being a Nurse on an acute respiratory ward for two years where she gained vast hands-on experience and knowledge. In 2018 she then went on to work in a Nursing Home for three years, covering two maternity positions as Clinical Lead.


In 2021 Georgie joined Byron House Care Home as Clinical Lead, where she focused on building strong relationships with residents and honing her caregiving skills. She demonstrated a strong work ethic, reliability, and compassion, earning the trust of both residents and colleagues. Recognizing the importance of continuous learning, Georgie pursued additional certifications and attended workshops to expand her knowledge in healthcare management. She took advantage of opportunities for professional development and developed a deep understanding of regulatory requirements in the healthcare sector.


Georgie’s commitment and leadership qualities did not go unnoticed and she became a right-hand woman to the Home Manager, overseeing and providing supervisory support to her colleagues. With her excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and knack for team collaboration, she expressed her interest in taking on more responsibilities. She actively sought out managerial training programs and mentorship from senior team members. This dedication and her proven track record positioned her as a strong candidate when the opportunity to become a Home Manager arose.


In 2023, Georgie achieved her goal of becoming a home manager at Westgate Healthcare. In this role, she oversees the entire operation of the care home, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing staff, and maintaining high standards of care. She is committed to staying updated on industry trends and regulations and investing in her education and professional development.


Georgie’s journey from a Healthcare Assistant to a Home Manager is a testament to the possibilities that arise through dedication, continuous learning, and a passion for providing exceptional care. Her story is an inspiration to others in the healthcare profession to pursue their goals and contribute to the well-being of those they serve.
