This charming twenty-eight bedroomed home is led by a long-standing, and experienced nurse qualified home manager. Conveniently situated within 1 mile of Aylesbury town centre and a short distance from the village of Wendover in Buckinghamshire, the home has been refurbished to a high standard, offering beautiful and comfortable bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms, welcoming living spaces, a relaxing hair salon, and a delightful garden where summer barbecues are hosted and fresh produce is grown and used in the five-star rated kitchen.

The family ethos and the warm relationships the staff achieve are greatly valued by both residents and visitors. The stable staff team receive significant in-house training, ensuring skilled and responsive care to meet the individual needs and wishes of every resident. Byron House offers a wide range of activities to suit each individual and aims to ensure that each person gets the very best out of every day.

I waited over two years to get my dad into Byron House Care Home. It was the only home we visited that both myself and sister could see our dad settling into. It's very clean but still looks inviting and the staff are wonderful, they never talk down to my dad, they listen and explain what they are doing.

My mum came to Byron House on the 18th November 2022, after a long stay in hospital. The staff made me feel very welcome and are lovely. The care and kindness shown to Mum, is superb. Her room is lovely. She is very comfortable, is settling well and is very happy. She loves the food!

My husband was cared for in Byron House from May 2022 until he passed away.
The care was amazing, he was treated so well by every member of staff. Not only was he looked after, but such kindness to me, my daughter and son. As a family, we can't thank you all enough.

As soon as my sister moved to Bryon House, all the staff and the manager made her and us welcome. Taking the time to introduce themselves. Although the physical aspect from my sister is more settled, she is less aggressive and more talkative since the move. The staff also ensure she eats really well.
Overall, we are very happy with the care and think the staff are brilliant.

My grandad is so happy at Byron House Care Home, it is so lovely to see. Every staff member always has a smile, no request is too big or too small. I am so amazed by the level of care. My grandad has made multiple comments about how much of a family feel Byron House is and I completely agree.

From the moment I spoke to the Manager of Byron House, I knew it was the perfect place for my mother. She was friendly, really enthusiastic about the activities they organised and was really helpful in moving mum in. I found this with the other staff as well. It’s shame I can’t mention their names because
I feel they really had the best interests of their residents in mind. Sadly, my mum was only there for two weeks before suddenly passing away. The staff were very kind to me whilst I was with mum over the last couple of days of her life. Two very supportive nurses sat with me during the last moments of her life. It has a lovely atmosphere, caring staff and lots of entertainment for the residents.

My husband was only in Byron House for a month after being in a different care home for seven months prior to my moving him. I wish I had moved him earlier as I have nothing but praise for the care and attention he received in his final month of life. Covid restrictions of course made a difference but
I was made to feel welcome on each visit, given regular updates and genuinely felt the atmosphere and ethos being established within the home was what I had been seeking. All the staff I met were friendly and communicative, showing empathy for the residents and their families. It is not easy to evaluate activities, food and drink and to some extent daily life in the home because of COVID and my husband’s needs. The end-of-life care my husband received and the kindness shown to us his family at this time was all we could have wished for. Thank you Byron House staff.

My father was a resident at Byron House for several years and throughout that time he was very well cared for. The nurses and carers have all been superb in their attention to his care and welfare, and although he was in bed they made every effort to involve him in the activities and events taking place
where possible. The home is quite new and very clean with good facilities.

I have been very pleased with the care that the staff have provided for my mother.
The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. They encourage the residents to participate in activities and treat everyone as an individual. My mother was initially on a respite placement and I have now made it a permanent

Brilliant. We are extremely satisfied with Byron House Care Home. I have just come back from my visit to see my mother-in-law, and am so pleased and reassured by the very high standards of care shown to her. The staff were welcoming and her room was delightful, light and airy. My mother-in-law's comfort,
health and wellness were of utmost importance to staff and I felt she was extremely safe and content. I would not hesitate in recommending.

My dad was at Byron House for just over a year and was very well cared for during this time. All of the staff are incredible and all got to know him very quickly so he was able to settle in well. He had dementia and was treated with dignity and care. As his needs increased his care was adapted to keep
him as happy and comfortable as possible. The home is always clean and welcoming and the garden is lovely.
Since lockdown started, due to Covid, the staff have done all they can to keep me informed of any updates and arrange video calls and visits in the conservatory through the window. It was reassuring for me to know that while I was unable to visit my dad he was being so well cared for by the amazing staff here. Thank you to all of the staff.

Georgina Melo

Georgie Melo started her career as a Healthcare Assistant at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in 2011.


Her passion for providing quality care to adults and her fulfilment in making a positive impact on people’s lives led her to complete a First-Class Honours Degree in Adult Nursing at the University of Bedfordshire.


Georgie’s early career experience included being a Nurse on an acute respiratory ward for two years where she gained vast hands-on experience and knowledge. In 2018 she then went on to work in a Nursing Home for three years, covering two maternity positions as Clinical Lead.


In 2021 Georgie joined Byron House Care Home as Clinical Lead, where she focused on building strong relationships with residents and honing her caregiving skills. She demonstrated a strong work ethic, reliability, and compassion, earning the trust of both residents and colleagues. Recognizing the importance of continuous learning, Georgie pursued additional certifications and attended workshops to expand her knowledge in healthcare management. She took advantage of opportunities for professional development and developed a deep understanding of regulatory requirements in the healthcare sector.


Georgie’s commitment and leadership qualities did not go unnoticed and she became a right-hand woman to the Home Manager, overseeing and providing supervisory support to her colleagues. With her excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and knack for team collaboration, she expressed her interest in taking on more responsibilities. She actively sought out managerial training programs and mentorship from senior team members. This dedication and her proven track record positioned her as a strong candidate when the opportunity to become a Home Manager arose.


In 2023, Georgie achieved her goal of becoming a home manager at Westgate Healthcare. In this role, she oversees the entire operation of the care home, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing staff, and maintaining high standards of care. She is committed to staying updated on industry trends and regulations and investing in her education and professional development.


Georgie’s journey from a Healthcare Assistant to a Home Manager is a testament to the possibilities that arise through dedication, continuous learning, and a passion for providing exceptional care. Her story is an inspiration to others in the healthcare profession to pursue their goals and contribute to the well-being of those they serve.
