My husband received wonderful care at Chawley Grove, having been transferred there following a long stay in hospital. The staff were all flexible, caring, professional and kind. They adjusted to his needs, which changed over time, they understood his personality and treated him with respect, and had
an interest in his life. They were attentive to his personal and health needs. They were responsive to my queries and requests. They managed to keep Covid out of the home, while creatively developing a variety of ways for me to stay in touch (and even visit) with him - a great testament to their excellent combination of personal care and high standards, with clear guidelines. Every staff member I met was pleasant, articulate, and sensitive to his needs. I feel fortunate indeed that my husband was placed at Chawley Grove. I would highly recommend it.

My mother went to Chawley Grove as a respite package for 1 month. The staff were extremely helpful in setting this up for her. Getting the covid 19 test delivered to her house before finalizing dates for going into the home. First impressions were good ones. No word of a lie mum didn't like the isolation
period, but the staff were brilliant and would go and talk to her and stimulate her throughout the day. The staff set up zoom meetings with me, so we could see and talk to her. When mum was aloud out of the 2-week isolation the staff encouraged her to walk around and build her strength up. Mum always said the food was first class and plenty of it. We could book visits to see mum in the secure room that they have converted to keep everyone safe. Mum did like the activities that they had on the time table and thoroughly enjoyed them. Mum commented that all staff were friendly and kind. Nothing seemed too much trouble. A good first experience.

My Mum moved into Chawley Grove just over a year ago. She was admitted to a different home as an emergency following a sharp decline in her Dementia and we transferred her from the emergency placement to Chawley Grove in a terrible state. I cannot believe that two care homes can be so different. The
care and attention she has received since being at Chawley Grove are exceptional. The staff have taken the time to get to know Mum and what her likes, dislikes and triggers are making her comfortable and welcome and loved. I don't think that there is another care home like this in Oxfordshire and cannot praise or recommend them more highly. The staff are like family to the residents when we can't be there. They are supportive and caring and above all treat Mum like their own Mum, with the kindness and the understanding she deserves. If you are looking for a perfect place then Chawley Grove really is an excellent choice.

My husband was only in Chawley Grove for 2 weeks before he sadly died. He had been in hospital for several weeks with no family contact due to the Covid19 restrictions but as soon as he arrived at Chawley Grove he received wonderful caring nursing. He appeared settled and content for the last days of
his life and for this I will always be so grateful.

My mum spent the last six months of her life at Chawley Grove and the care she received was outstanding in every respect. In addition to the 'All-inclusive 5 Star hotel' facilities, the care home was truly a home from home for Mum, with professional, caring and responsible Homemakers who treated her
with dignity and respect at all times. She felt safe, happy and secure in the knowledge that she was cared for by genuinely compassionate staff who took an interest in her and not just her physical needs. I would highly recommend Chawley Grove to anyone who is looking for an outstanding home for themselves or a loved one.

Chawley Grove has a beautiful garden and outlook. Care is loving and cannot be faulted. Food and dining experience is very good. Staff are very helpful and caring, nothing is too much trouble. I would be happy to be a resident myself when the time comes.

I've recently visited a family friend; as they have just joined the care home. First initial thoughts were the home is beautiful, very clean and maintained.
Staff are welcoming, you can see they have a passion for the care they provide, coffee and cake was provided (very lovely). We were shown around
the home, very surprised to find a pub and cinema within the complex, this will certainly make us feel at home if we were to stay.
The home has numerous facilities to keep you busy and active which are brilliant, the last thing you want to be doing is nothing!
Overall, I would happily bring my parents in when the time is right, costs are competitive with others in the area, but the facilities are second to none.
I hope this helps anyone who is reading, rest assured the care within this home is outstanding from what I have seen. I look forward to returning to have a pint or two.

We have found the care home were so welcoming. They have looked after our mother with such respect, care and dignity.
The home itself is like a 5-star hotel! The surroundings are fantastic, and you are free to use anything available. The staff are very caring and helpful. The thought of a home had
been a concern, but my mother loved it. The beds are particularly comfortable.

I have visited my friend over the last six months at Chawley Grove and have been extremely impressed by the standard and friendliness of the staff, from the Chef to the Manager. They are kind and considerate, nothing seems too much trouble. They always seem genuinely happy in their work. I have never
heard of 'Homemakers' before but what a great idea. A real home from home environment.
I have often attended the coffee morning when visiting and tried some of their homemade cakes. Much watch the waistline.
I can see that my friend is finally very happy and has everything she needs to live out the rest of her life in comfort with people who really care.

My father was in Chawley Grove for just over a fortnight’s respite care over the Christmas period. Arranging the stay was made easy by the very helpful administrative team and settling in for the stay was very well handled and reassuring for my father. His room was extremely comfortable and kept spotlessly
clean, and the rest of the home and surroundings are bright and cheerful without feeling in any way institutional. Over the Christmas period, there were fewer staff on duty over the weekends, but they managed to meet the residents’ needs with calm efficiency. My father, who has dementia, settled in very quickly, largely thanks to the calm atmosphere, and was full of praise for his carers. Having regular contact with other residents also helped.
Chawley Grove offered exactly what I needed for my father’s respite care; a home from home with excellent facilities where he was looked after by a caring and responsible team, so I knew he was perfectly safe and very comfortable.

Staff are perfect. The outlook and decoration are second to none. The care cannot be faulted. The bathroom facilities are to die for, the spa feature is absolutely amazing! The food is very good and tasteful. Everybody is very helpful and chatty. I will return in future for sure.

Recently wanted to do a family meal for Xmas. Spoke to the care home who supplied us with a menu and a very reasonable price. Went on the day and was given a whole section of the home. Staff had set up a wonderful table and decorations. Then the food came up served by the onsite chef, wow wow wow. Lovely
food, we were all well fed and more leftover. Was a wonderful day.
Really can’t sing the praises of this home, they really do care for everyone who steps foot into the premises.

As my husband has such a very short term memory, he was very confused regarding times of the day or night and where he was. He enjoyed the day out to Cumnor Village Hall very much and talks about it in detail but does not remember anything else he did all week!
He's just told me he remembers playing
scrabble and a bit of drawing!

Chawley Grove Care Home is amazing, and the care my mother receives when she stays there is second to none. It means so much to me to know she is safe and that I do not have to worry.
All the staff are so welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble, right down to the "welcome back" card, signed by
everyone, that my mother receives each time she stays.
The facilities are excellent and the surroundings equally inviting. I recommend Chawley Grove Care Home ofter and just recently to three colleagues.

We had battled finding carers for our mum since she'd had a fall and come out of hospital. Things weren't working out; a care home was not our first option - ideally, we would have kept her in her flat with support from carers and family. As it happened circumstances forced our hand and moving her into
Chawley Grove is the best thing we could have done.
The staff are all lovely, friendly and supportive. Chawley Grove itself is modern but homely and I highly recommend checking out the views from the balconies on the first and second floors.
Our mum looks ten times better than she did when she was in her own place; nice hairdos and manicures. She is relaxed and safe and we are comfortable knowing she is receiving the care she needs and deserves.

I would like to thank everyone at Chawley Grove for looking after my husband, making him feel welcome. He feels he is on holiday with beautiful well-served food, all staff happy and chatty. My husband stopped talking about Christmas-time 2018 and the day he came to Chawley Grove he spoke to everyone

The care my father received was excellent. The staff made him feel at home and very safe. He could always ask for help at any time, it was given professionally and kindly. The setting for Chawley Grove is relaxing and quiet if needed. The food was also good and he was able to eat and drink whenever
it suited him. The staff quickly got to know his preferred routine and his care was very much tailored for his needs. Staff were quickly responsive to any concerns, he felt very valued and part of a family.

I have only the highest of praise for Chawley Grove Care Home. My mother spent 2 weeks respite at Chawley Grove where she received first class care. The staff are friendly, welcoming and highly professional. The rooms and facilities are excellent. It has a beautiful relaxing garden and a number of lounges,
coffee areas, dining room and even a mini cinema to relax in. In short it has every facility to ensure the residents and visitors alike, feel at home.

My mother is a resident at Chawley Grove for a period of respite care. I visited many care homes in the Oxford / Abingdon area before choosing Chawley Grove. When I first visited I was struck by the beautiful setting, furnishings and facilities. However, it is the professionalism and warmth of the homemakers

Ana's expertise spans complex health needs, notably dementia care and care home management. Outside of work, Ana is a qualified Personal Trainer and enjoys keeping fit.
