Culduthel Care Home is located in Inverness, which is the heart of the Highlands.

The recent full refurbishment is now complete and the care home offer a choice of luxury rooms. The care home has been custom built to cater for residents who are frail and having nursing or specialist needs and offers en-suite facilities in each room with spacious living areas, dining rooms and lounge areas where residents can socialise with others.

The home has been tastefully designed to be light and spacious and the gardens designed to create an attractive space to enjoy outdoors.

My mother has been in Culduthel Care Home for over five years and in that time the staff have been excellent. I haven't actually tried the food but it looks very nice. The room is always clean and they look after my mother extremely well and she seems very happy there.

Culduthel Care Home is as clean as I would expect a care home to be, it is well managed and ran but care staff make the difference. They are interested and caring about the residents and their welfare. I personally do not think my brother-in-law would have survived his last traumatic illness if it were
not for the support and care he received and will always be grateful for the extra time we have with him.

My wife has been resident in the home for approximately 2 1/2 years and in that time I have been completely satisfied with the way she has been cared for. She is a stubborn person and I note that the carers know how to handle this aspect sensibly. One of my daughters was difficult at the outset and
I am pleased to report that management handled this situation with common sense and fairness. The home itself is most impressive with fine carpets, furnishings, fixtures and so on. Her room, with ensuite facilities, is excellent and I have always found it clean, tidy and at the right temperature. The staff are obviously very well trained, always friendly and my overall impression is that of an efficient organisation from the top down. Through no fault of the home, my wife had a fall resulting in a broken hip. The visiting GP did not make a diagnosis, but one of the nurses at the home was alert, spotted the situation and dealt with it very impressively.

My father was isolating himself, very low in mood, unmotivated to any task, he has now been in Culduthel Care Home for almost a year.
This year has been very difficult for all parties concerned, but the staff and management have listened to and addressed any concerns or requests we have had as best
they could whilst adhering to restrictions.
Staff have continued to encourage my father to come out of his room, which has been a long, slow process to achieve, but he is now out of his room daily, having his meals with others and participating in activities.
The staff have also facilitated Skype calls in order for us to keep some face to face contact, which my father does enjoy.
Staff and management have kept their clients safe from Covid-19, which is a huge achievement.
I have put good for activity simply because it's limited due to restrictions.

From the moment that Mum entered Culduthel in June 2019 she has been treated with the utmost respect and dignity. The staff from the manager down are obviously highly motivated and professional people. In recent weeks during the Pandemic, I cannot imagine the turmoil that they have gone through to care
for not only the residents but also themselves and their managers. The staff have tried their very best to stimulate Mum and keep her going over this extremely difficult time.
I understand that we are not allowed to name staff in this feedback which is a shame. I think though that my list would have to be very long as all the staff from the cleaners to the carers to the nurses to the entertainment staff to the kitchen people to the management all deserve a huge thank you for keeping my Mum safe and also all the other residents of Culduthel. Thank you Culduthel.

The care staff are dedicated, attentive and friendly.
The administration and management staff are welcoming and helpful.
The rooms are spacious, well-furnished and have en-suite toilet and shower.
The facilities are excellent; there are numerous lounges, 2 cafes, a cinema and a hairdresser.
The
activities are expanding, and the views of residents and relatives have been requested and acted upon.
The car park is somewhat limited, but there is plenty of space on the street outside.

My wife and I visited my sister there at the beginning of September and were absolutely delighted with the care my sister was receiving. The home itself is spotless, inviting and welcoming. The staff are unbelievably friendly and there seems to be no limit to their caring abilities. I am so pleased

The entrance is very welcoming with beautiful flowers growing near the car park and front door area. The first thing to come to your attention is the bright, clean and modern, yet homely and welcoming seating/reception area just inside the front door. Staff are very pleasant. The corridors are decorated
so tastefully - with amazing bright pictures on the walls. The bedrooms are gorgeous - so calming and spacious. Throughout the whole home, there is a feeling of confidence, warmth and intimacy, every need is thoughtfully met.

My mum enjoyed excellent care from all concerned during the time she was at Culduthel. She passed away just 2 weeks ago aged 99 and the care, consideration and real affection is shown to her was second to none and meant such a lot to us as her family.
Her dignity was respected at all times and I know
she, like us, really appreciated that.
The care and support to us, her family, during her last days and after was much appreciated and will long be remembered.

In response to an enquiry for respite care for my mother I received an appointment immediately to discuss her needs. We were met with warmth and enthusiasm and shown around both the existing areas and the new parts still to come on stream. The facilities seemed excellent to us.

Having viewed several homes, decided on Culduthel.
Ever since my Aunt moved in 'things' have steadily improved to the point they are in my opinion excellent.
The residents are all kept involved (as much as they can) and are treated with the utmost respect.
Any queries are attended to immediately.
The
carers are just that - they genuinely do 'care' about the residents.
Overall the change since the takeover from previous owners is 100 per cent. Five stars.

Job Title: Care Home Manager

We care passionately about our residents, staff and relatives at Culduthel. I am committed to developing a positive and caring home where people enjoy living and working.


I personally became passionate about caring for the elderly after moving to the Highlands when I was 19 to study nursing and midwifery. I went on to work as a staff nurse and in management with the NHS and the private sector.


We offer a variety of activities to suit resident’s tastes and needs at home. I want to ensure people can still enjoy their hobbies or make new ones, along with meeting new friends. Community outreach and local school engagement is also very important to what we offer.


We provide nutritious meals with great menu choices recommended by our chef and chosen by residents. All dietary requirements are looked after and there are six spacious lounge/dining areas so residents can choose where to enjoy their meals.


I want to ensure residents have fulfilled lives during their time at Culduthel; their well-being is my top priority.
