My daughter and I are very pleased with the care being given to my husband. He was not very happy to begin with but with the encouragement and care given by the staff, he has definitely built up a rapport with them and is much more settled.

Dukes Court has a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff are very cheerful and kind and I feel my husband is very well cared for. The rooms on the top floor are rather small as is the visitor's lounge. I would recommend Dukes Court to anyone requiring care.

Very impressed with care and facilities for my mother. She has decided that at 95 years old (almost 96) and with increasing physical problems, she could no longer continue to live on her own (albeit with carers). All the staff at Dukes Court have made her transition from her own home to care home as
painless as possible.

All the staff at Dukes Court Care Home are always so welcoming not just for new residents but also for their relatives. Since my mother moved there she has been so well looked after in every respect of her care she loves it! I have found everyone to be helpful, efficient and very caring. The programme
of entertainment is excellent and 5the food is really great with a good selection. It gives me peace of mind knowing that my mother is so well cared for.

My mother has been in Dukes Court Care Home for 6 months now. My visits have been almost daily and during that time I have witnessed the smooth running of the care home for all residents. The whole staff are cheerful, bright and positive, from the receptionists to the cleaning and laundry staff the
culture of the home shines out with warmth and friendliness. The high quality of staff training is clearly is evident and the atmosphere is one of a real home where staff make the residents and their relatives very welcome.

We visit our mother-in-law regularly at different times of the day. On all occasions, we arrive on the floor to see the staff interacting with the service users in an exemplary manner. They are kind, smiling, encouraging, patient, competent and practical. This is a floor for people with memory problems/Alzheimers
and must be very tiring for staff but you would never tell. Dukes Court is well organised all the staff managers and carers communicate very well. I feel that my loved one is at home and she is certainly treated like it.

I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and management of Dukes Court. Both my parents live in the home, my dad passed recently and the care and support given to dad and myself during his last weeks was exemplary. Not living in the UK anymore, it gives me great comfort knowing my mum will be loved
and cared for by Dukes Court staff.
The staff love their job and you can certainly see this in all that they do.

The accommodation is very good but sometimes the care provided is poor. When visiting my mother, on many occasions, there is no staff available. No one sitting with the residents in the lounge area. A lot of the good staff have left due to the poor management.

After vascular treatment in a hospital, they needed my bed and pressed the ejection button. The flight path took me to Priors House in Warwickshire, greeted by the staff I soon settled into one of their self-contained rooms with 24-hour service. In two days I had regained confidence and mobility, could
shower, dress and get on in a quiet lounge, emailing business and friends worldwide (wifi available!!) Everything is planned using a team system - excellent varied food by chefs to suit my tastes. I take the daily newspaper, hard and online to keep up with world events. Everywhere is so clean and the "daily on-site" laundry service ensures a clean shirt. There is so much here, which is so good. Nothing is too much trouble. It is 5 star and they "saved my life". Thank you all so much.

Moved the person we are responsible for to Dukes Court. The care he now receives, at 100 years old, has improved his mind and physical condition beyond recognition. He is now happy, is able to communicate again and thoroughly enjoys the activities.

My parents moved into Dukes Court Care Home around February time and I have found it a very reassuring place for them. Staff are excellent, cleanliness is perfect and always a good welcome from all members of staff. It's very satisfying to know they are safe and looked after, five stars from me. The
only issue I would address is the ease of somebody walking in as reception is not always manned.

Hello, my name is Claire, and I became the home manager at Dukes Court in October 2023.


I have worked in the care sector for over 20 years, with my passion being in dementia care.


Throughout my career I have worked in Nursing, and residential homes, supporting older people who live with disabilities, and dementia.


I have many years of experience in managing care homes for the elderly and could not imagine doing any other job.


I have completed various training and development courses including levels 2 & 3 in health and social care and a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for adult and children care.


I am very proud of our home and the fantastic team who work here at Dukes Court.


I love to see team members develop and love supporting colleagues to improve their knowledge and progress in their careers.

On my normal day you will see me around the home performing a variety of tasks which can include, checking the residents’ rooms are up to a high standard, ensuring the décor of the home is well maintained, and carrying out daily, weekly, and monthly checks.

Catering for the elderly has been very rewarding for me.


Dukes Court is a thoroughly enjoyable atmosphere to work in, I enjoy attending monthly residents’ meetings and hearing the residents ’ valuable feedback and I always ensure to take it on board.


I have a fantastic team of kitchen assistants that ensure that the day-to-day running of the kitchen goes as smoothly as possible.

Hi everyone my name is Simon!


I am the Wellbeing Coordinator for Dukes Court


Dukes Court has a very sentimental place in my heart as it is the first care home I've worked in, taking a total career path change back in 2014 when I decided to leave a very successful, highly paid but stressful sales account management role within the public sector to begin my career in a care setting. It was the best decision I ever made and I feel I was made for the role.


So what does a well-being coordinator role consist of?
Well, I can honestly say that it isn't all bingo and rice pudding at Duke's. The role might require me to be a listening ear for one minute, loneliness prevention, a meaningful one-to-one engagement. Other times I can be seen beavering away at the computer or on the telephone booking fantastic, quality entertainment and planning amazing weekly and monthly events. Families rely on me to keep our Facebook page updated daily with news and photos of their loved ones, we pride ourselves on our up-to-date content and engaging posts and we welcome the support and comments from our loyal followers and friends of Dukes Court. Singing, dancing, quiz and game host, I have adapted the skills I honed during my entertainment days and now try to give the residents a touch of the theatrical within our planned activities.


My background experience has been in the performing arts, studying at Booth Lane College in Northampton, and going on to work as a performer in the Skyline gang at Butlins, Skegness, Pontins, Haven, British Holidays and JMC holidays in Kos. Greece. The ten years of experience I gained performing to audiences of all ages over the years has enabled me to bring lots of fresh ideas and a variety of activities for our residents. I like to think out of the box, in fact, I probably threw away the box.


A local man, I was born and brought up in Wellingborough and I have close links with the community and this gives me a greater understanding of the surrounding areas. Always handy when having a chat with residents who may or may not know the area and definitely useful when planning our local trips.


Fun fact: When I left school I was a bartender at The Duke of York pub that used to be where Dukes Court stands today, pulling my first pints and enjoying the lively atmosphere that the Duke of York would create throughout the week and weekends. So you could say, I have come full circle!


I thoroughly enjoy my job and feel very privileged to spend my days with such wonderful ladies and gentlemen from whom I learn a lot and share laughs and smiles every day. I have a combined total of nearly five years as a well-being coordinator at Dukes Court now and I'm very excited to welcome new residents who have chosen us to be their care provider.

I find my job so rewarding, learning new things all the time about our residents.

One to ones are very important part of my role in wellbeing for those who may not be able to physically join in with group activities.
Its a pleasure to go home at night time knowing I've made a difference and bought fun and happiness in to the day, not only to our residents but there family members too
