Farnham Mill Nursing Home is committed to the highest standards of service and care, within a friendly and happy, family-run setting. It specialises in Nursing, Dementia, Parkinson's and End-of-life care. The Home is rated as Good Overall by CQC.

Its aim is to provide the highest level of care for residents, in a dignified and compassionate way. With the best facilities and equipment, in a comfortable home with highly trained, experienced staff. The home has 60 large bedroom suites, with floor to ceiling windows, creating a very light and bright atmosphere. Outside there is a wonderful Mill Pond, landscaped gardens and a wildlife meadow. There is also a quiet courtyard garden with raised planters, all accessed by level flat paths.

Compassionate, caring and professional staff try to improve the quality of life for those who have chosen to live in the home. The approach is not 'one routine fits all', but rather a more personal care plan, that makes allowances for the individual's needs and concerns. There is a full and diverse range of activities in place to help residents pursue their personal interests

My parents have been residents for four years and I am really happy to say that the level of individual care for each of them has been exceptional during the whole time. All the staff are so friendly, caring and professional. The regular reports for each parent are informative and demonstrate a very
personal understanding by the staff. The many activities are well organised and provide plenty of variety and sociability to the residents' morning and afternoons. The staff are also so friendly and welcoming to all visitors and are quick to recognise us each time we visit. Our family are so grateful for the kindness and care given to my parents every day.

My dad has been at Farnham Mill now for almost a year. We are really pleased with how well he has settled in and feel entirely confident that he is well looked after and cared for. We looked at a number of different options for dad, but felt that Farnham Mill was more of a community and the staff were
a team. It's a lovely environment with very little, if any, staff turnover. Residents are encourage not to sit alone in their rooms all day. There are lots of activities to get involved in. The staff are amazing in every way!

Farnham Mill is a wonderful home, providing excellent holistic individual care and support to my father. All the staff are friendly, kind, compassionate and professional. The activities team are brilliant, always coming up with great new ways to entertain and involve the residents- there is always something
going on, and they are very good at ensuring all the residents are included.
Communication between the staff and families is excellent. We feel able to take any issues to the team knowing that they will be acted upon.
Since moving in, my father has flourished and we are reassured he in the best environment and the safest of hands.

My sister has been a resident for some time now and I visit every week so I have a good understanding of the ambiance. All the staff are friendly and helpful and are obviously well trained. It is the sort of accommodation I would be happy to occupy should the need ever arise.

I have a great love for Farnham Mill Nursing Home and my experience has always been exemplary.
Having been the daughter of two past residents and a volunteer, I have continued my association even after the passing of my mum and dad. I felt I did not want to drop my connection with Farnham Mill and
continue to help as often as I can to collect urgent prescriptions and make errands to the hospital and doctor's surgery. Also on these visits I am able to interact with the residents, many of whom I have come to know very well.
There is always a friendly welcome from all the staff as soon as you walk through the front door. The loving, caring atmosphere throughout the home is heart warming. It has been a great pleasure to help at Farnham Mill. I hope I can continue my connection for many years to come.

My father was a resident in another care home for several years and the family witnessed the compassion and care he received there. Hence we chose Farnham Mill Nursing Home, run by the same owners, for my mother when she needed care years later. I am pleased to say that the same high standards remain.
Several of the staff remember my father and they are now doing everything they can to care for my mother, not only medically, but also on a personal level, taking an interest in her likes and well being. I am kept updated of illnesses and any issues. My mother is encouraged, but not forced, to participate in the many and varied activities. As a regular visitor, I know the staff well and are welcomed by everyone when I visit. I consider myself lucky that my mother currently has mental capacity but I observe daily the endless patience and kindness shown to some of the other residents. I have nothing but respect and gratitude for all the staff for everything they do.

This is a care home of high standards in every respect. Its most remarkable feature is its staff; at every level, every member of staff appears devoted to their particular role and shows a commitment to the residents that reaches beyond professional requirements into the personal. Every resident's individuality
and dignity are considered, and arduous, and unrewarding tasks are executed patiently, courteously and with empathy. Visitors are treated with courtesy and kindly attention. My mother has now been at Farnham Mill for just over 5 years and the care and support she has received during this time has been amazing. All the staff are so respectful and caring towards her and very welcoming to visitors too. The main receptionist is an absolute credit to the home and we are always
offered refreshments by staff when we are with Mum. The monthly updates are very comprehensive and cover everything from medical to social information. The weekly newsletters, which are full of photos, are so important when she is not able to tell us what she has been doing and have been a real link to her world. The activities team come up with some incredible themes and experiences for the residents. Mum has particularly enjoyed the animal visits.

I am a volunteer at Farnham Mill. My parents were residents for nearly four years. In this time I got to know many of the staff really well and I became part of the "Farnham Mill family". When both my parents passed away I found that I did not want to lose my connection with Farnham Mill, so I became
a volunteer. I now help every fortnight with the flower arranging activity which takes place every week. The residents get together and thoroughly enjoy taking part, sharing a laugh and a joke with volunteers and staff whilst making some lovely flower arrangements! At the end of the session, it is time for a cup of tea and a chat with individual residents and the vases of flowers are taken to residents' rooms for them to enjoy. I look forward to my visits to Farnham Mill and I always leave feeling that with the help of the wonderful staff and volunteers I have helped in a small way to achieve a happy and positive experience for the residents which is the essence of Farnham Mill.

The staff make this home, all the care staff especially his carer who is amazing. We can not fault them. It's difficult (impossible?) to fault the care given at Farnham Mill. They have made the difficult transition from independence at home to what is, let's face it, an institutional environment bearable. All staff go out of their way to make everyone completely at ease with the decision. They are superb

All the staff at Farnham Mill provide excellent care, from the welcoming receptionists to the skilled and thoughtful care staff. There is always a wide range of activities on offer and residents are encouraged to join in but are never pressured to do so. Facilities are very good and the balcony and
gardens are a lovely place to spend a sunny afternoon.

I am very happy with the care my mother is receiving. My mother was fiercely independent but had a stroke last year and needs nursing care. She was in another home but hated it and was becoming depressed. Farnham Mill really looks at how to stimulate their residents and has scheduled events especially
because that will interest my mother. Her mood and health have improved as a result. I am very happy with the care she received.

The nursing home staff are excellent. There are key staff who care for Mum and Dad who we and they have good relationships with. We know them by name and they know ours. This ranges from reception staff to the maintenance team as well as nurses and carers. Both parents are well cared for, safe and

I can't speak highly enough of Farnham Mill Nursing Home. After a dreadful experience placing my mother for 2 weeks of respite care in one of the large 'chain' care homes last year, I knew I had to find something much better for her when the time came for full-time residential care. I was very worried
that this might not be possible. Farnham Mill is a family-run home that has just two locations. From the moment I was given a tour, I knew without a doubt I had found the best home possible for my mother.
She has been there for 7 months now and my gratitude to the staff there is huge. From the friendly and efficient reception desk staff to the hands-on manager to the highly trained care staff and nurses to the wonderful activities team down to the chefs and cleaners everyone is dedicated to the care, comfort, safety and enjoyment of the residents. Visitors are also made to feel so welcome and it feels a bit like another family in a home away from home. I wish I could write more!

Our parents have been residents at Farnham Mill for exactly a year and during that time our lives have been completely transformed for the better. Staff respect our parent's desire for privacy and independence but they also understand that gentle encouragement to get involved in individual and group
activities can be hugely beneficial and enjoyable. They have their own lovely garden room with a patio and stream close by but are also involved in the gardening and cooking clubs and enjoy music and dancing regularly. Their lives are fuller than was possible in the last few years living independently. As relatives, we have the peace of mind that their physical and mental health, eyesight, weight and teeth are constantly monitored and illnesses are shorter and less stressful for them than before. It is a pleasure to visit our parents now and to take part in community events. Our parents cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful staff at Farnham Mill and everything they do for them.

I left the NHS where I was Ward Manager of an elderly care unit at the Royal Free Hospital when I assumed control of Woodlands & Hill Brow Ltd following my mother's retirement in 1998.

I am very passionate about ensuring residents are provided with attentive and respectful care, at the same time ensuring that they retain their dignity and independence during the latter stages of life.


I love being able to take time to talk, listen and understand what matters to the resident, as It is important that residents can express choices and feel involved in the way their care is planned and delivered. My love of looking after older people enables me to utilise my skills to provide consistent, individualised care and support to residents in a care environment, knowing it makes a difference in the lives of the residents’.

My role is incredibly rewarding. I am part of a massive life changing decision that is incredibly personal and needs to be made with confidence. I think of myself as a guide for families and individuals during this new chapter of their life.
I help support with any questions and concerns but what I love most is every day I get to meet new people, hear their life stories and build great relationships with them and their families. Once they have moved in it is a joy to watch our residents thrive and enjoy life, loved ones too.

I have over 25 years of experience in Hospitality, mostly as a chef. Prior to joining Woodlands and Hill brow, I spent 5 years working in a luxury care home in Andover, overseeing the kitchens, housekeeping, activities and maintenance departments. I really enjoy seeing happy residents enjoying their food and having fulfilled lives.


My goal is that my contribution through experience, passion and determination gives everyone living at Farnham Mill the best possible quality of life.

What I enjoy most about working in Care and cooking for the older generation is the interaction with the residents and the creation of personalised foods they will enjoy the most. I have been working at Farnham Mill as a front-of-house receptionist.


I worked for a well-known high street bank but changed my career which was inspired by my mum’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis and the impact it had and still has on my family’s lives. I am passionate about and love my role at Farnham Mill. To see families being able to spend time together is my real inspiration and to be able to spend time with our residents is a real privilege on a day-to-day basis.

I joined Farnham Mill in July 2018 and feel proud of my role as activities coordinator.


My passion is making our residents happy and I believe this is part and parcel of good care.


My job as activities coordinator allows me lots of opportunities to do this, through organising lots of different activities and trips that our residents enjoy. These include arts and crafts, quiz's, trips out to the pub, shopping and to garden centres. Plus lots of musical performances.

I am the Senior Nurse and Clinical Lead at Hill House. I joined Woodlands and Hill Brow Ltd in 2019, after working in a number of other nursing homes previously. I was drawn to Farnham Mill because I had heard about how the company offer outstanding care to their residents and takes care of its staff.


On a personal level, I have always been passionate about caring for the elderly, especially those with dementia. It is my belief our residents should receive excellent nursing care and I am proud to be part of the outstanding team at Farnham Mill.

I love working in such a beautiful purpose built, nursing home. The home allows us to provide the best possible care for our lovely residents. I also enjoy working with such a dedicated team of carers, nurses and management who all put the residents happiness and care first.

Job Title: Facilities Manager

My name is Doug, I am the facilities manager for the Woodlands and Hill Brow Group. I am a qualified electrician and have been in the building industry for nearly 40 years. I was introduced to the team at Woodlands and Hill Brow Ltd when I was involved in the building of Hill House nursing home and then when I designed the electrical systems at Farnham Mill. I take pride in my maintenance team and in providing a safe, well maintained, attractive place for the residents and staff alike to live and work.
