Farnham Mill Nursing Home is committed to the highest standards of service and care, within a friendly and happy, family-run setting. It specialises in Nursing, Dementia, Parkinson's and End-of-life care. The Home is rated as Good Overall by CQC.

Its aim is to provide the highest level of care for residents, in a dignified and compassionate way. With the best facilities and equipment, in a comfortable home with highly trained, experienced staff. The home has 60 large bedroom suites, with floor to ceiling windows, creating a very light and bright atmosphere. Outside there is a wonderful Mill Pond, landscaped gardens and a wildlife meadow. There is also a quiet courtyard garden with raised planters, all accessed by level flat paths.

Compassionate, caring and professional staff try to improve the quality of life for those who have chosen to live in the home. The approach is not 'one routine fits all', but rather a more personal care plan, that makes allowances for the individual's needs and concerns. There is a full and diverse range of activities in place to help residents pursue their personal interests

Farnham Mill had organised a weekend BBQ for residents and associated family members and friends. We attended the event are were welcomed by the staff and spent an afternoon being serenaded by a professional singer as well as enjoying drinks and BBQ food. A great social event was had by all.

My wife and I always receive a very warm welcome on arrival from the team at reception, especially from one lady who is an absolute credit to the Home. The nurses and carers relate well to my aunt and always provide us with a brief update on how she has been for the previous day or two. Monthly reviews
are carried out with comprehensive details, and I am kept informed promptly of any incidents, either by phone or email. We are also offered refreshments when we visit, and the activities team, they particularly takes the trouble to talk to us too. Overall we are delighted with the care given to my aunt. Thank you and keep up the great work.

Farnham Mill has been just what our mum needed. The building and its grounds are a pleasure to visit, the staff go above and beyond with their care for the residents and their visitors. The nursing home is very clean both inside and outside in the lovely gardens. Activities are always taking place every
day and it is very special for us to see the photos and videos that are posted online and emailed to the family. Events at Farnham Mill are always amazing from the food to the friendly welcome that you receive from each member of staff. Entertainment is very good for the residents to enjoy and sing along to some old favourites. Trips out are arranged for some residents which is lovely. Regular weekly updates from the Doctors visit are welcome too also the monthly meeting with a staff member is always very informative.

My friend has been at Farnham Mill for some time now. I am so impressed with the way her needs are understood and met at the home. She is always treated with respect and her choices are honoured and implemented. She loves to feel that she is contributing to the community she is part of and the staff
understand that this is important to her and encourage her to participate in the many activities that are offered, flower arranging, arts and crafts, gardening club, cookery club. She enjoys the visits from the children and the varied entertainment that is scheduled each week. She also appreciates that she can retire to her room for rest and time alone whenever she wants. I am grateful for the way that the care she needs is presented as friendship and kindness and offered by all staff whatever their actual role at Farnham Mill. It feels as though she has been adopted into a huge loving family.

Very happy with every aspect of dad’s care. The staff make this an amazing placement for dad he’s really enjoying all the entertainment and activities, especially his visits to the pub. His appetite which was initially very poor has been enhanced by staff encouraging and prompting him to eat. As a large
family dad has frequent visitors and we have all been welcomed by staff. The many family days held throughout the year are always attended by many of us, including grandchildren and great-grandchildren alike we all have a great time so thank you for organising such well-catered events especially to include the children mean the world to dad.

The care of my mother-in-law is exceptional. The whole family are welcomed and treated with respect. The staff have an excellent rapport with residents. The transition to full-time care was made less painful for my wife during what is naturally a difficult time.

My mum moved from another home (same chain) to Farnham Mill last September due to her changing needs. I really like the light, open, bright and airy feel of the home. Each time I visit all of the staff on every level are very welcoming towards me and are so kind and caring towards Mum and all residents.
The home is kept spotless and has beautiful gardens which are very well-tended, for residents to enjoy. There are plenty of activities planned each week also visits from singers, dancers, therapy dogs, pigmy goats and recently chickens and ducks to name a few. I am always notified immediately if there are any changes in Mum's care or condition this gives me much reassurance that Mum is in the best place possible.

Staff are always extremely helpful and friendly when visiting. It must be easy to get distracted working in a nursing home, but you never feel a burden asking for extra support for the person you're visiting. Staff know residents' first names and are constantly visible and providing care. This is an
ease to my mind. I have a lot of respect for those providing the care, and they do so with patience and respect.

Farnham Hill continues to achieve the highest standards. Their care for my mother is individually tailored, skilful, gentle and kind. A recent chest infection was quickly spotted and she was on prophylactic medication on the same day. As dementia progresses there is a risk of loss of dignity. I see
continuing attention to my mother's nutrition, comfort and appearance. I attribute this success largely to the continuity of staffing and respect between colleagues at all levels, from cleaners (without whom the best care in the world would struggle) to general managers.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Farnham Mill for over 4 years. We cared for her ourselves for several years but know we don't have to worry about her because she's better cared for at Farnham Mill, with regular GP visits etc. She's always calm and content, reflecting the atmosphere created in
the home. The care staff are so patient, kind and attentive with her and she's always clean, in clean clothes. It's lovely how they pamper her when doing her hair and nails. The food's excellent and is prepared on the premises. The home is purpose-built, well-equipped, well-maintained and always smells clean and fresh.
There's a full, activity timetable that varies weekly, which she (and I) can join in with as much as she wants. She particularly enjoys the musical entertainment, animal visits and family activities like picnics and fireworks.
I can visit whenever I want and always get a warm welcome and friendly chat at reception, which really helps! Thanks so much to all the staff.

My husband was at Farnham Mill Nursing Home for over three years, during which time his mental capacity deteriorated seriously. From day one, he received first-class care, not only medically but with every attention given to his personal needs (including his quite large appetite!) Loving consideration
was given to him as an individual and his dignity was always respected.
I have the highest praise for all the staff, from senior to the most junior. As well as their care of my husband, they were unfailingly kind to me; they made me feel like one of the family.
At the time of my husband’s death, he was nursed with loving and understanding care and his sister and I were given unstinting care and kindness.

My father lived at Farnham Mill for 7 months having moved from Hill Brow (part of the same group of care homes), during which time he became increasingly frail. All the staff were fabulous; incredibly caring and supportive and always treated Dad with dignity and respect. While he was still able to,
he enjoyed some of the activities, particularly anything musical.
My sister and I were kept well informed of any issues and were very much a part of any decision-making regarding his welfare. We were always made to feel welcome and the staff really looked after us in Dad's last few days in particular.
I cannot recommend Farnham Mill highly enough!

The visit was a two-week respite stay for my mother over the Christmas holidays, shortly after being discharged from hospital. She had an initial reticence because of her love of her own home but quickly settled. She thought all of the staff were amazing, always attentive and pleasant. The food was
lovely and there is no doubt in my mind that she has grown stronger physically and mentally during her stay.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone with similar needs.

My friend was a resident for 7 months and I visited at least twice a week. The two girls on reception were always polite and welcoming perfect for greeting visitors. The care staff is very easy to chat to and always around if needed. The nursing staff is second to none. There is always something going
on for residents and we joined in many of the garden parties, afternoon teas and sing-a-longs.

I left the NHS where I was Ward Manager of an elderly care unit at the Royal Free Hospital when I assumed control of Woodlands & Hill Brow Ltd following my mother's retirement in 1998.


I am immensely proud of the standards of care we achieve and the family ethos and feel which runs through the heart of our homes.

My role is incredibly rewarding. I am part of a massive life changing decision that is incredibly personal and needs to be made with confidence. I think of myself as a guide for families and individuals during this new chapter of their life.
I help support with any questions and concerns but what I love most is every day I get to meet new people, hear their life stories and build great relationships with them and their families. Once they have moved in it is a joy to watch our residents thrive and enjoy life, loved ones too.

I have over 25 years of experience in Hospitality, mostly as a chef. Prior to joining Woodlands and Hill brow, I spent 5 years working in a luxury care home in Andover, overseeing the kitchens, housekeeping, activities and maintenance departments. I really enjoy seeing happy residents enjoying their food and having fulfilled lives.


My goal is that my contribution through experience, passion and determination gives everyone living at Farnham Mill the best possible quality of life.

Preparing, cooking and presenting good, tasty, wholesome food has always been my passion. I have cooked since I was very young. What I enjoy most about working in Care and cooking for the older generation is the interaction with the residents and the creation of personalised foods they will enjoy the most. I have been working at Farnham Mill as a front-of-house receptionist.


I worked for a well-known high street bank but changed my career which was inspired by my mum’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis and the impact it had and still has on my family’s lives. I am passionate about and love my role at Farnham Mill. To see families being able to spend time together is my real inspiration and to be able to spend time with our residents is a real privilege on a day-to-day basis.

I joined Farnham Mill in July 2018 and feel proud of my role as activities coordinator.


My passion is making our residents happy and I believe this is part and parcel of good care.


My job as activities coordinator allows me lots of opportunities to do this, through organising lots of different activities and trips that our residents enjoy. These include arts and crafts, quiz's, trips out to the pub, shopping and to garden centres. Plus lots of musical performances.

I am the Senior Nurse and Clinical Lead at Hill House. I joined Woodlands and Hill Brow Ltd in 2019, after working in a number of other nursing homes previously. I was drawn to Farnham Mill because I had heard about how the company offer outstanding care to their residents and takes care of its staff.


On a personal level, I have always been passionate about caring for the elderly, especially those with dementia. It is my belief our residents should receive excellent nursing care and I am proud to be part of the outstanding team at Farnham Mill.

I have worked for Woodlands and Hill Brow since 2018, first at Hill House as a carer and when Farnham Mill was built, I transferred over. I love working in such a beautiful purpose built, nursing home. The home allows us to provide the best possible care for our lovely residents. I also enjoy working with such a dedicated team of carers, nurses and management who all put the residents happiness and care first.

Job Title: Facilities Manager

My name is Doug, I am the facilities manager for the Woodlands and Hill Brow Group. I am a qualified electrician and have been in the building industry for nearly 40 years. I was introduced to the team at Woodlands and Hill Brow Ltd when I was involved in the building of Hill House nursing home and then when I designed the electrical systems at Farnham Mill. I take pride in my maintenance team and in providing a safe, well maintained, attractive place for the residents and staff alike to live and work.
