Its aim is to provide the highest level of care for residents, in a dignified and compassionate way. With the best facilities and equipment, in a comfortable home with highly trained, experienced staff. The home has 60 large bedroom suites, with floor to ceiling windows, creating a very light and bright atmosphere. Outside there is a wonderful Mill Pond, landscaped gardens and a wildlife meadow. There is also a quiet courtyard garden with raised planters, all accessed by level flat paths.

Compassionate, caring and professional staff try to improve the quality of life for those who have chosen to live in the home. The approach is not 'one routine fits all', but rather a more personal care plan, that makes allowances for the individual's needs and concerns. There is a full and diverse range of activities in place to help residents pursue their personal interests

The care and kindness of all staff have made the move to Farnham Mill so much easier than I expected.
Everyone takes time to ensure Mum's needs are met. Although my mum can't participate very much in the varied activity programme, the coordinators do a fantastic job at ensuring she is present and
involved as much as possible. In addition to informal chats when I visit, I receive weekly emails and photos from the activity coordinators summarising what she's been doing. This is so reassuring. The nursing staff also keep me updated with any changes to care and any thoughts or suggestions I have are welcomed and taken into account. The care partner scheme is a great initiative that has enabled me to be involved in some aspects of care mum's care, which has been very important for us.
The environment is clean, bright and airy. There is always a lovely atmosphere, lots of smiles, activity and a sense of positivity and belonging. Thank you!

As the responsible carer for my aunt, I wanted to find somewhere that was bright and comfortable, with real attention to the resident's needs and wishes. Farnham Mill has a wonderful atmosphere and the staff are always helpful and friendly. Coming out of a long term hospital stay meant that there was
a need for a certain amount of rehabilitation and rest and I can see the improvement in my aunt's physical and mental well-being from being in a social and active environment. The home has made her room feel homely, with pictures on the wall and her belongings around her. The home makes a point of open communication and I feel very reassured about the high-level care she is getting.

I cannot praise the home highly enough.


They do not use agency staff, so the patient was able to quickly learn who her carers are, recognise and chat to them. She particularly appreciates how often someone pops into her room - it appears to be several times an hour in my experience during visits.


The

central meeting area is open and bright. Patients can choose to stay in their rooms or socialise. They do not all have to eat together and the home has accommodated my patient's requests for slightly different meal times and has also listened to her precise instructions for how she likes her tea!


There is a hairdressing room and jacuzzi bath for patients. The rooms and communal areas are cleaned daily. She has chosen so far not to take part in group activities so I cannot comment on them but have noticed them going on during my visits.


Their Covid security is very strict which is excellent for the patients.

Dad was with Farnham Mill Nursing Home for only 5 weeks, but in that time, I got to know the team and how they operate, despite having to operate strict Covid rules. I am so pleased that we found Farnham Mills as I really do not think of any way they could have cared for my Dad any better. The team
from the front desk, through to the nursing staff were attentive 24/7 and always there for Dad or any of his visitors.


Sadly, Dad didn't manage to use many of the facilities, but from a nursing and 24/7 care perspective, and sensitivity towards the needs of the family, they have been exemplary.


I'm not sure what to say regarding food, because I didn't have experience of it, but the activities looked fun from a distance.

Previously my brother spent some time at another nursing home where the staff said he was bedbound, unable to sit up in a chair and needed to be hand-fed. His lack of mobility and dementia may be far advanced but care at Farnham Mill has demonstrated that this is completely untrue. The home's policy
of positive action to get patients up and about and to participate in group activities as far as their capacity allows has paid off. He may not have been transformed into the man he once was but he is yet to become the vegetable I had feared. He has been joined there by his wife who has also benefitted from this new environment. Lack of mobility had meant that for the last six years she seldom left the family home or met anyone apart from home-carers. She can now socialize with other patients and roam round the long corridors of the home leaning on her four-wheeled walker knowing that staff members will always be to hand should she need help.

This care home is different than any other I have had experience of. If you want a guest lounge with fresh cakes and a coffee machine - this is not for you. If you want a home for your loved one, where you can be a part of the care family, where the residents needs are first, where the deputy manager
will lie on the floor to console and comfort a resident in the recovery position this is the perfect choice. There are no agency staff and the home is run by trained medics. The care shown by all staff - including the laundry workers is heartwarming. There are no separate social spaces - the guests on each floor watch TV together, eat together and socialise in the same space. This means there are "eyes on" the residents at all times. The test of a good care home is not when everything is perfect - it's when things "go wrong" and they do. The test is how they put it right. In my opinion, this establishment cares deeply about their residents, and not just their bottom line.

My mother has been cared for at Farnham Mill Nursing Home for over a year. She has been extremely well cared for and is very happy living there. The staff are all genuinely caring and without exception everyone I have met and have seen interact with Mum has been caring, thoughtful, respectful, kind
and professional. The management at Farnham Mill Nursing Home have moved quickly in line with the changing Covid-19 regulations and have been as flexible and creative as they can to make sure that residents were still able to see relatives. My Mum is frail and elderly but there is no doubt in my mind that her living at Farnham Mill Nursing Home has extended her life, as well as making her happy, comfortable and surrounded by people that genuinely care for her. This gives me great comfort and I continue to be grateful for all they do. The home has a lovely atmosphere to it. I have no hesitation in highly recommending Farnham Mill Nursing Home.

My mother has resided at the home for a couple of years now. I would recommend this home to anyone. The rooms, environment, and activities are all fabulous. My mother has been well cared for physically and emotionally. The staff are welcoming, friendly and kind and I couldn't say how great the reception

I couldn't have been happier with the decision to put my father into care at Farnham Mill. I chose Farnham Mill for my wife as it easily stood out from the other three care homes that we viewed at the time. We were immediately impressed with the care and in particular attention, we saw for ourselves towards the residents. I volunteer at the Home so can see my wife inside and am impressed
by the kindness, patience and care that the carers, nurses and indeed all the staff provide to my wife and the other residents, all of whom are known by their first names and are spoken to regularly. The love and affection shown by the management and all the staff to the residents is very apparent and has indeed been essential during the lockdown. My wife is now not very mobile both physically and mentally yet there is regular contact with her, they do try to keep her motivated and as active as possible, and the patience the staff have in feeding her is remarkable. Everyone provides the very best of care for my wife and my initial decision to move her to Farnham Mill is more than justified.

Dad recently moved into Farnham Mill which we chose for being a bright and cheery place. Being newly purpose-built it has benefitted from the experience of caring for the elderly in the other 3 homes in the Group which means it has incorporated things like underfloor heating and wide corridors. Dad
has a fabulously clean and well-maintained room with a lovely view over the pond where there are geese and ducks. He has settled in extremely well, right from the first day, due to the staff who went out of their way to ensure his transition went seamlessly and that we could be fully involved. He is happy to mix with the other residents in the communal areas and engage in the activities provided which aid his memory issues. The Covid protocols have provided a challenge to all care homes, but I feel they are well executed here. The food looks delicious and support is provided if need be. Above all, however, are the caring, compassionate staff. I would have no hesitation in recommending.

Farnham Mill Nursing home is a bright, clean, modern home that is full of light and big spaces in its communal spaces creating a lovely atmosphere when we were able to visit the home. The rooms are of a good size and well maintained. It has a wide and varied programme of activities that residents can
enjoy and the activities team is great in maintaining fun and engagement. We were kept updated on Mum's care with regular emails and of her activities with regular photos and a newsletter. We chose Farnham Mill because of the facilities and their nursing expertise with caring for those with a deteriorating memory. Although Mum passed away recently, the nursing staff was caring and sympathetic as well as professional. Although Covid restrictions meant we could not attend Mum in person during peak lockdown, we were able to arrange video meetings through the staff. It was also reassuring to know that there was someone with Mum 24 hours a day in her final days.

I am so pleased that we chose Farnham Mill Nursing home for my father. The building is modern, bright and purpose-built and the rooms are very comfortable. A lot of thought has gone into the design to make it both homely and stimulating and the owners have thoughtfully invested in technology to entertain
and engage the residents. It is the staff, however, who really give the place its soul. They are all, from reception to the kitchen, maintenance, domestic, activities co-ordinators, personal and nursing staff, caring, warm, welcoming, patient and professional. The management team always has time to listen and any issues are dealt with quickly and effectively. They have worked hard to keep the residents safe during the pandemic and staff have often gone above and beyond, making personal sacrifices. Residents have been kept busy and engaged with a brilliant and imaginative range of activities, on a different theme each week. My father is very happy and settled there.

I have been so impressed with the care my mother has received this year during the Covid crisis. The home is extremely well managed. They have gone to great lengths to facilitate visits from family members. The staff are tremendous. They have made enormous personal sacrifices in terms of seeing their
own families in order to minimise the risk of catching Covid 19. The building and gardens are beautifully maintained making it a pleasant environment in which to live.

It has been lovely to see how much my grandmother has improved since being at Farnham Mill. The communication has been fantastic, especially the weekly activity emails where I can see what my grandmother has been up too, the activities team put so much effort in. Farnham Mill have a lovely heated gazebo
for visiting which is such a bonus as I get to visit my grandmother even when the weather isn't great. My grandmother has nothing but good things to say about all the staff, accommodation and especially the food!

My Uncle is a resident at Farnham Mill Nursing home. I have always been very close to him, so I couldn't be happier with the care he is receiving. It truly is an exceptional place and has excelled during the Covid 19 outbreak. The communication from the staff and management has made these unprecedented
times easier to cope with.
My Uncle loves his room and the communal areas with all the facilities and activities that are provided.
The grounds and gardens are stunning, and he just loves sitting by the living pond watching the wildlife and listening to the sound of the running water.

Farnham Mill was selected as the ideal home for my parents given that it looked really modern, had large rooms compared with other homes and the management team were so helpful and supportive. My parents moved into the home in August prompted by my father’s deteriorating health. In reflection, we absolutely
made the right decision. Mum and dad had been very comfortable at the home receiving the highest standards of care and compassion. As my father’s health deteriorated further, we couldn’t have asked any more from the nursing and care staff as well as the management team, especially in his last weeks. Aside from the superb care that dad received, my mother also received so much support and kindness, which she still enjoys today. I would also like to compliment Farnham Mill on the excellent levels of communication to keep the family fully updated. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Farnham Mill to any prospective client. Many thanks from the whole family!

I am Alison Lee the Proprietor of Woodlands & Hill Brow Ltd. I am a nurse with a degree in Nursing and a Diploma in Elderly Care. I left the NHS where I was Ward Manager of an elderly care unit at the Royal Free Hospital when I assumed control of Woodlands & Hill Brow Ltd following my mother's retirement in 1998.


I am immensely proud of the standards of care we achieve and the family ethos and feel which runs through the heart of our homes.

I am very passionate about ensuring residents are provided with attentive and respectful care, at the same time ensuring that they retain their dignity and independence during the latter stages of life.


I love being able to take time to talk, listen and understand what matters to the resident, as It is important that residents can express choices and feel involved in the way their care is planned and delivered. My love of looking after older people enables me to utilise my skills to provide consistent, individualised care and support to residents in a care environment, knowing it makes a difference in the lives of the residents’.

I help support with any questions and concerns but what I love most is every day I get to meet new people, hear their life stories and build great relationships with them and their families. Once they have moved in it is a joy to watch our residents thrive and enjoy life, loved ones too.

I have been working at Farnham Mill as a front-of-house receptionist.


I worked for a well-known high street bank but changed my career which was inspired by my mum’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis and the impact it had and still has on my family’s lives. I am passionate about and love my role at Farnham Mill. To see families being able to spend time together is my real inspiration and to be able to spend time with our residents is a real privilege on a day-to-day basis.

I joined Farnham Mill in July 2018 and feel proud of my role as activities coordinator.


My passion is making our residents happy and I believe this is part and parcel of good care.


My job as activities coordinator allows me lots of opportunities to do this, through organising lots of different activities and trips that our residents enjoy. These include arts and crafts, quiz's, trips out to the pub, shopping and to garden centres. Plus lots of musical performances.

I am the Senior Nurse and Clinical Lead at Hill House. I joined Woodlands and Hill Brow Ltd in 2019, after working in a number of other nursing homes previously. I was drawn to Farnham Mill because I had heard about how the company offer outstanding care to their residents and takes care of its staff.


On a personal level, I have always been passionate about caring for the elderly, especially those with dementia. It is my belief our residents should receive excellent nursing care and I am proud to be part of the outstanding team at Farnham Mill.

I also enjoy working with such a dedicated team of carers, nurses and management who all put the residents happiness and care first.

My name is Doug, I am the facilities manager for the Woodlands and Hill Brow Group. I am a qualified electrician and have been in the building industry for nearly 40 years. I was introduced to the team at Woodlands and Hill Brow Ltd when I was involved in the building of Hill House nursing home and then when I designed the electrical systems at Farnham Mill. I take pride in my maintenance team and in providing a safe, well maintained, attractive place for the residents and staff alike to live and work.
