We pride ourselves on the resident experience and providing a high quality service and take comments such as this seriously as it does not reflect the usual positive feedback we receive.
I would like to assure you that our staff are fully dedicated to their roles and this is supported by a score of 100% satisfaction in our most recent resident satisfaction survey relating to the responsiveness, empathy, and care provided by our team.
I would also like to assure you that our staff are not permitted to carry mobile devices on their person during their shift. They are however allocated an electronic care planning device which they must utilise throughout their shift.
We value all feedback as this helps us improve our service. While we recognise we are not perfect we always try to do our best and invariably we are able to resolve matters quickly where concerns are expressed to us directly. We therefore invite you to discuss any concerns you have with our manager directly.

We are disappointed that you felt the need to air your complaints on a public platform rather than discuss your concerns with our manager as per our complaints procedure, and in your failure to respond to any of our numerous attempts to communicate with you regarding your claims.
After thorough investigation, including conversations with your sister and her family, we have concluded that your review contains claims which are wholly and factually inaccurate.
For the avoidance of doubt, our investigation found that none of your claims regarding your sister's care could be substantiated. Additionally, we have a robust system for determining staffing ratios and at no point has Fernlea been understaffed.

In my opinion, they seem to have coped extremely well with the extreme difficulties of the pandemic and have been very rigorous in terms of their safety/health procedures. My mother herself is always complimentary about the care staff and she enjoys the food and the activities. Overall I have rated it 5 stars for every single category, which is well deserved. a) The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.3 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.
The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:
