As a regular visitor, I am immediately welcomed by the staff who address me by name. The environment is light, open and inviting, I can visit at any time without restriction. Residents appear comfortable and are treated with respect and dignity, many interact easily with me despite me not knowing them
personally. We often lunch downstairs, and staff are willing to accommodate requests for wheelchair use and a different lunch venue. My resident appears happy and interacts easily, staff always address him personally when passing. It is always a pleasure to visit this establishment.

Gainsborough Hall is just as a care home should be; caring. This starts with the manager who manages the home brilliantly. The staff are down-to-earth, supportive, approachable, and really do seem to care about the residents and respect their individual needs.
Gainsborough Hall is very clean, spacious
and more like a hotel than a care home. The en-suite rooms are beautiful and airy, the food is good and plentiful, and there are always activities for the residents to join in. The location is also great; close to parks, shops, cafes, pubs, and restaurants and only a 15-minute walk from the train station.
Visitors are always welcomed with a smile and can enjoy a coffee with the residents in the lovely reception area (which is big enough to manoeuvre a wheelchair).
We visited a number of care homes before choosing Gainsborough Hall, and feel very pleased and confident we made the right decision.

We are extremely happy with the care and support Dad receives from the staff at Gainsborough. Dad's behaviour can at times be very challenging which the staff manage well with kindness and understanding. They have built a great relationship with him and he always seems comfortable and at ease with them.
Dad is diabetic and is unable to use cutlery so meal times can be a challenge. But the team work hard to ensure he has a varied diet and ensure his condition is managed well.
Daily social activities take place every day which Dad has the opportunity to join in with.
In addition, I feel that I am personally well supported by the staff and manager. Dad was only in his early 60s when he was first diagnosed with dementia and the kindness shown to me personally during this time has been invaluable.

What a fantastic care home! Every effort has been made to ensure that Dad's move went as smoothly as possible, both for him, and for his family. After four weeks he has settled into the new routine and is being encouraged to involve himself in some of the many activities which take place on the ground
floor. He has a great relationship with his carers who are genuinely interested in him as an individual and take time to discuss shared interests (sport/travel) with him. He is also a big fan of the food which he says is like home-cooked food.

My dad moved from a mental health hospital to Gainsborough with vascular dementia/Alzheimer's and we couldn’t be happier with the place and his progress.
We call it ‘Grandad's Hotel’ and it really does feel that way. It’s so spacious, clean but also has such a familial feel and the staff are always
so welcoming to me and my young family.
They offer enough for the residents to do but also really well-supported meals and rest time.
We’re so happy with all aspects of care and how well they look after Dad.

My wife has been a resident for over three years as a result of dementia and following her being sectioned and spending several months in a hospital unit.
It follows that her stay in the care of Gainsborough Hall covered much of the period when Covid was being experienced and not an easy time for anyone.
During
the whole of her stay, I have not been less than totally happy with the excellent care and attention to all her needs and I am very much aware of the fact that, as a result of her condition this has not been easy.
Her medical and other needs have been regularly discussed with me and at all times have I been made aware of her situation
She loves music and has benefitted greatly from being able to experience regular such inputs from individuals and groups which the home has facilitated.
All members of staff involved with her care and other needs have been excellent and I would have no hesitation in recommending Gainsborough Hall to others in a similar situation.

The home is well maintained and the nursing staff are very good. Food is very basic but plentiful. Sometimes the staff are overextended and cannot give the residents their full attention. But the management are addressing this temporary situation.
The nursing staff are knowledgeable and give good advice.
We appreciate all their work and efforts.

We are all super pleased with the care and attention provided to Mum. There is a lovely environment and a nice balance between peace and quiet and a bit of fun. The ground floor residents have regular activities to get them socialising and all of the staff we have dealt with are lovely. It is really
well placed for easy access by car or bus and we had the most delightful afternoon tea with Mum on Mother's Day, all made/baked in the kitchens. All of the rooms and facilities are spacious and of a high standard and well-maintained. A great team and highly recommended based on our experiences.

From the moment I walked into Gainsborough, any concerns and previous negative experiences with other care homes and the standards they accepted for their residents were quickly dispelled. I visit 3/4 times per week and each time I feel the team are looking after my mother to the best of their ability
and in line with her needs and requirements. We were very lucky to find a place here for Mum and it is a significant step up from care homes previously used.

My husband has recently transferred to Gainsborough from another home and the improvement has been significant. The staff are really caring and make an effort to get him up and encourage him to take part in activities. We’ve been made to feel so welcome and it’s given us such peace of mind to know he’s
safe and secure. He thinks he is at a lovely hotel!

Gainsborough Hall treated my mum with absolute love, care and respect during her battle with dementia. From the manager to all of her staff, everyone was attentive and caring. Gainsborough Hall feels like home.
The rooms, food and activities are all second to none and I can't recommend this wonderful
care home highly enough.

The staff and management at Gainsborough Hall Care Home have been wonderful at supporting, settling and caring for my mother. The care they provide is wonderful and is giving myself, family and friends peace of mind that she is being well cared for.
The communication has been excellent from all of
the staff, from the receptionist helping and answering lots of my many questions, to the staff who care for my mother who have listened to me and keep me well informed of how my mother is doing. The management have been wonderful at answering my many questions too. Thank you.
They have also been fantastic at supporting myself and my family through this stressful time as my mother was admitted into hospital and then was transferred to Gainsborough Hall.
The activities that are provided at Gainsborough Hall Care Home are wonderful at providing a stimulating environment and I love hearing what my mother has been doing.

My mother was a resident at Gainsborough Hall for 20 months, until her passing. I could not have wished for her to have been anywhere else for this time. The care she received was excellent, she was treated with dignity and love at all times, despite her vascular dementia, while she presented with challenging
behaviour, this never waived. Wherever I visited, which was frequently, at random times, she was always being cared for how I would wish her to be. The management, nursing staff, carers and ancillary staff work as a team to offer exceptional care for the residents and their families.

My father has been a permanent resident at Gainsborough Hall since September last year. He had previously been at the home for a two-week respite stay. He has dementia and a number of other complicated medical problems. The care he has received since his arrival has been outstanding. The home is extremely
well led and that is reflected in the culture and morale throughout. The staff are compassionate, genuinely caring, and professional. My father is settled, happy and safe. Not only do they focus on the wellbeing of the residents but also spend time making sure relatives of residents are welcomed and supported when needed. As a purpose-built, 5-year-old building, the rooms are large and the en suite bathrooms are well equipped. Hallways all have handrails and the floors have secure keypad access. My family are hugely grateful to know that he is being so well looked after in the last stage of his life.

My husband became a resident at Gainsborough Hall Care Home on 31st March 2024. He has advanced dementia and is no longer able to walk. He has settled very well into the home which must be attributed to the excellent care provided by all the staff. My husband is up and dressed every day and is either
in the lounge or joining in with the activities in the reception area.
The bedrooms are large and cleaned daily.
The meals are lovely and freshly prepared.
The staff are very attentive and show great kindness to all of the residents. They have made me, my family and friends very welcome.
I would thoroughly recommend Gainsborough Hall as a care home.

My wife, who has dementia/Alzheimer's, spent six weeks at the care home, having previously been in the hospital with a broken hip for eight weeks, unable to walk. She emerged from her stay on the 6th of October able to walk and mix, to a certain extent, in a social environment. Well done to the care

Gainsborough Hall is a well run and welcoming home. The staff are always very friendly and helpful, and I felt that I was always leaving my mother in good hands. Whenever I contacted the home, nothing was too much trouble for the receptionist, and I was always kept well informed of my mothers progress.
The home has beautiful rooms with the residents having their own facilities. As a guest, you are always made to feel welcome. I would like to thank everyone for the care my mother received.

Very disappointed. Having picked this home carefully and according to reviews it absolutely did not deliver. Terrible communication, poor management, understaffed and incomplete paperwork. We were unable to talk or communicate with our father when he was in end of life care as phones were not answered
emails ignored and reception left unmanned. When we did visit to say goodbye our father was in his room in the dark with no television or stimulation or a drink of water. Staff were not available or on hand and when he sadly passed away he was without his wedding rings. These have not been found.

My mum was resident in Gainsborough Hall from Jan 2020 to March 2021. The facilities, food, environment etc. are absolutely superb, but that is not what puts Gainsborough Hall a cut above the rest, that is entirely because of the amazing staff. They are kind, caring, compassionate, efficient and thoughtful.
They treat the residents as family and genuinely care for them; sharing tears, laughter and affection. I was heartbroken that I could not be with Mum for a year, but I was comforted by the fact that she was safe and happy with her Gainsborough family.

Very very poor communication. Paperwork procedures not followed. Switchboard left ringing out constantly. Unable to speak to either our father or his carers on a regular basis. Unable to speak to our father over Christmas at all. Emails unanswered and doctor's visits not promptly reported.
