As Mum has been a resident for several months, following a difficult time at home, she is now very happy in her new home. Mum enjoys the food, and enjoys the rapport she has with the staff. She tells me they are very kind and good to her and she doesn't want to live on her own again. This has made the
family's decision to place her in a care facility a much easier one.

Mum moved to Thimbleby Court in May 2024 from another care home. It was a difficult decision as she was fairly settled in her previous environment but her room lacked private facilities and was cramped.
We have been highly impressed with Thimbleby Court. The en-suite room is spacious and airy with
access to an enclosed courtyard. The decor is subtle and understated, the facilities and activities are excellent and the staff are kind, attentive and professional. We appreciate the attention to detail and the interest shown in Mum's welfare and feel that she will be more settled once her worry about the move has been resolved. She has struggled to adjust to the new routines as she still remembers the way things used to be done but we are more than certain that the benefits of being here will ultimately be accepted.
We have the utmost confidence in the ethos and the team at Thimbleby Court.

Right from our initial visit to the care home we were made to feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They dealt professionally with the resident and listened to what was required with full and clear information regarding every aspect of the care home. It is such a lovely and comfortable
place, great food and so much to entertain the residents.

The decision to place my wife in care was one of the most difficult I have ever made. Fortunately, my search coincided with the opening of Thimbleby Court within a mile of my home.
I arranged a viewing and, from the outset, was impressed by the facilities on offer and the warm and caring attitude of
the staff and management.
My wife entered the home in March last year and, apart from the odd hiccough in the early days, all has gone smoothly. She is happy, well fed and enjoying the various activities arranged for the residents by Glenholme staff.
The treatment that I receive during my many visits is unfailingly polite, warm and empathetic.
Family members who have visited always remark upon the cleanliness and quality that is on offer comparing it to that of a 5-star hotel.

What a stunning residential care home. The food is amazing, always something going on. The staff properly looked after my dad in his stay there and were caring right to the end. More staff to cover weekends is the only thing you could improve on.
Thank you.

After giving twelve ratings below, there's little else to say, other than Thimbleby Court is the absolute best place I saw on my recent quest to find respite care for my husband, who had not settled or been happy in his previous home. Every single thing that I was told was available or would happen,
actually did. Can't praise the home enough.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.564)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.564) out of 10 for Thimbleby Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.888 for Thimbleby Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (96 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 4.888

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.676 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Thimbleby Court Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 58 registered maximum number of service users is 11.6. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.6 = 0.776

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
