My mum moved here after frequent falls and hospital admissions in 2019.
On Friday I spent several hours with her in the communal space. She was having her eyesight tested when I arrived. The optometrist updated me with results and a member of staff called me in the evening. While I was with her
the staff started singing and dancing, encouraging all the residents who were able, to join in dancing. There were so many people, both staff and residents, joining in with great gusto and much laughter.
I even had a dance myself.
Next dinner was served, a very healthy plateful followed by dessert. I've not seen mum polish off a meal for years she really enjoyed it and looks so much more healthy now.
The staff are gentle and responsive, as a nurse myself, I am very happy that the care is of an amazingly high standard. It is lovely to see managers interacting with both visitors and residents in the communal areas.
I'm so glad I visited Glenview and delighted that mum is so safe and happy.

Thank you, Angela - it has been great getting to know your mum and the family - I love the fact that she wrote a book and was published.

My husband has been at Glenview Nursing Home since January 2019. In that time, my husband has been treated with expert care, kindness and dignity. I myself, have always been treated with respect and any concerns I have had regarding my husband's welfare has always been treated with genuine concern and
always acted upon promptly.

I have been volunteering at Glenview Nursing Home on a regular basis for six months and love it there.
The atmosphere is warm, happy and loving. Each resident is cared for as an individual and appreciated. It has a family atmosphere and a family home.

My experience with this nursing home was totally negative.
My mum was a resident from July 2018 until her death in December 2018.
Management and owner extremely rude and unhelpful. Lack of communication being my main concern.

Having recently joined the company I took the opportunity to contact Nicola to discuss with her, her experience of Glenview. We discussed the issues and I have apologised on behalf of the company for the way a previous manager dealt with what was a difficult time for her and the family.

Glenview Nursing Home provided excellent care and friendly attention for my husband during the last weeks of his life. The home is run very efficiently and my husband's room was always clean. Nothing was too much trouble for the nurses and the carers.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.311)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.311) out of 10 for Glenview Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.686 for Glenview Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (25 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 35 Ratings = 4.686

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.625 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Glenview Nursing Home is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 8 = 0.375

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
