Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and
snacks, laundry (excluding dry cleaning),
housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the
home.
Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

Job Title: Home Manager
Joined: 2021
Amanda has over 25 years’ experience in Health and Social Care and came to Goodson recently from another OSJCT home where she was also Home Manager. Having worked for various companies including the private sector, Amanda has worked her way up within her role from a Carer to a registered Manager.
Amanda started her career working nights in a nursing home, which she did for 8 years and thoroughly enjoyed. Amanda then started to work as a Carer on days and this is when she really started to blossom in her role as a leader.
Amanda joined The Orders of St John Care Trust in 2008, she soon became a Care Leader, Head of Care, then a registered Manager in 2014. During this time Amanda has completed various Health and Social Care Qualifications and completed Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Health and Social Care before taking on the Registered Manager's role.
Amanda sets high standards within her team, she encourages her team to learn new skills and knowledge, which also helps them to succeed, but more importantly to provide excellent care. This was demonstrated when she won ‘Leader of the Year’ award in 2018.
Job Title: Deputy Manager

Fran has worked in the care sector for 23 years. She started her career in a nursing environment, where she was a Carer before progressing to Senior Carer.
She then went to work with adults with learning disabilities as a support worker.
Fran started at Goodson Lodge in 2017 as a Night Care Leader and in 2020 went on to become Head of Dementia Care before becoming the Deputy Home Manager in 2022.
Throughout her career, she has gained many qualifications and recently completed her Level 5 in Health and Social Care.
Also, in October 2022 she was presented with a Trust 'Dedicated to Exceptional Care' award.
Fran absolutely loves her job and she has a real passion for enriching residents’ lives with meaningful engagement.
She loves being able to make a difference and making every day a positive experience for the residents.
Fran says she couldn’t imagine herself doing anything else.
Job Title: Bursar

Amal has a degree in Hotel Management and an MBA Master's degree in Human Resources.
He spent over 20 years in the hospitality industry working in several management roles and therefore has extensive experience in customer relations.
He is also currently studying towards his Association of Accounting Technicians from Wiltshire College so he brings a wealth of skills and expertise to the role of Bursar at Goodson Lodge.
Amal is pleased that in his role he actively supports residents' with their finances and contractual arrangements. He also has responsibility for the catering, maintenance, administration and housekeeping teams and ensuring that in their service delivery for the residents, OSJCT values are upheld.
He prides himself on keeping up to date with training and best practices with the ultimate aim that residents are happy in their homes.
Job Title: Activities Co-ordinator

Alex worked in the kitchen of another care home whilst he was studying TV & Film at college and he is now an Activities Co-ordinator at Goodson Lodge.
He is proud to have recently won an OSJCT award for 'Outstanding Community Engagement' and says that he thoroughly enjoys his time in the home because he loves making a difference in residents' lives.
Making them smile each day and seeing them enjoy the daily activities keeps him going, along with his toddler twins!
Alex is always open to ideas and loves to try new activities with the residents.
