Haddington Care Home provides nursing, residential and dementia care to an exceptional standard in the small but popular market town Haddington.

The purpose-built home has three floors filled with all the comforts of a luxury facility, tailored to meet individual needs and to make each resident feel at home and part of a community.

Each room has been designed with great attention to detail and comes with an en-suite.

Our mum has been a resident for almost 3 years, one of the first resident's, I cannot express enough our deep-felt thanks to each and every member of the team who care for her. From the minute we had a tour of your care home we knew it was the place for Mum. Apart from being extremely well looked after
we also feel looked after by your wonderful team, always there with a friendly smile or shoulder to cry on if needed. The home is bright and spacious and feels like a well-run family-friendly small hotel, Mum has a beautiful spotlessly clean en-suite bedroom overlooking playing fields and treated with dignity and respect whilst living with dementia. I'd have absolutely no hesitation recommending Haddington Care Home for anyone thinking on the unthinkable that you will one day have to trust your loved one with somewhere safe, comfortable, warm and friendly to be professionally cared for when their own home is no longer an option. Well done team Haddington you are all angels.

My dad has been a resident in Haddington Care Home for 18 months. He settled in well enjoying the beautifully furnished/decorated home and secure garden/terrace. He was lucky enough to be given a room overlooking the playing fields giving him a lovely view. His room, bedding and en-suite toilet/shower
room are always immaculate as is every other area.
My dad is very well cared for, he is always clean and tidy, the carers take time on a one to one basis getting to know each resident and their needs. I have been phoned when dad was off his food discussing options to try where kitchen staff have made meals out of the normal menus and also carers going out their way to make sure he had high-calorie options available (trifle) which always goes down well!
Dad recently spent a short time in hospital, I was very impressed with how everything was managed. The staff ensured he had everything he needed and kept me informed every step of the way. I highly recommend Haddington Care Home and the wonderful team.

My relative has been in Haddington Care Home for a few months now. My first impressions of visiting the home prior to her admission were extremely favourable. It looked like a comfortable small hotel, beautifully furnished and decorated. All staff were welcoming and friendly as well as efficient. This
allayed any apprehension on my relatives part. Since admission, she has been very well and respectfully cared for by all staff and she considers them as friends. Staff keeps us well informed as well as conveying a caring attitude towards my relative. It is such a comfort to my sister and I to know she is such excellent hands. I would definitely recommend this lovely facility to anyone whose relative requires care. All members of the teamwork very cohesively in delivering a high level of care. It's like a family.

Both my parents are in Haddington Care Home. It has been very difficult because of the circumstances just now but the staff have made sure that they have done everything in their power to keep residents safe and they have done this fantastically.
It is upsetting for my parents not seeing all their
family because of the restrictions, but the staff have done so much to support my parents and tried to make them understand what is happening just now which is very difficult trying to explain this to them as they both have dementia.
They have also given all the family great support keeping us informed about everything that has been happening and if we need some reassurance there is always someone on the other end of the phone that we can talk to.
We are getting to have garden visits just know which has helped. It is set up very well and I feel that my parents are very safe doing this.
I also would like to say that every member of staff is a great support and it’s a fantastic team in the home

Leigh

Leigh Young

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2023

Leigh has been a nurse for 10 years and began her nursing career in the transplant unit at the Royal Infirmary. She decided to move into the private sector to develop both nursing and people management skills as a deputy Manager helping to commission a brand new care home. Leigh has since completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Person Centred Practice with Clinical decision-making and prescribing as a District Nurse however she missed the world of Care Home Management and is delighted to now be part of the team and Haddington.


Leigh is passionate about people, ensuring our residents are well cared for our staff continues to be engaged, motivated, and developed to deliver gold-standard care, and our relatives are encouraged to be involved in the community of our home too.

"I qualified in 2006 and initially worked in Neuroscience
(Surgical/Medical). I then worked in palliative care in a local
hospice which was really rewarding. I have many years of
experience working within care homes working as a staff
nurse and charge nurse. I am looking forward to assisting in
developing the service with the team at Haddington.
In my spare time, I enjoy travelling and love Toronto and
Vancouver. I recently came back from Sorento, Italy and
