Offering accommodation for up to 67 residents it enjoys gorgeous views of the River Torridge and Torridge Valley.

Providing luxury accommodation that has been designed with its residents in mind it affords all of the little touches as well as a fantastic array of communal facilities to be enjoyed by all as well as supporting an active and varied lifestyle.

From the day you accepted my father into your care 28th January 2025, I have seen a marked change in his appearance and general wellbeing. The food is excellent. The staff have taken into consideration portion size and his ability to handle food, something my father needed help with as he was not eating
regularly or enough. Upon my last visit, my father noticed how hard the staff worked and when he needed help someone was there. Thank goodness we have people like you.

Walking into Highwood Care Home is like walking into a 5* luxury hotel. The rooms are stunning, fully fitted with ensuite wet rooms and communal spaces, homely and welcoming. My friend loves the wellbeing and activities and is simply loving Highwood. The cafe area is always welcoming, with fresh cakes
and plenty of coffee. I would certainly recommend Highwood without question.

Highwood Care Home is beautifully decorated throughout with luxury facilities including a massage/nail room, hairdressers and cinema room. The rooms are that of a 5* hotel and the restaurant is dressed to impress. The chefs offer a great choice of meals daily and take into consideration the residents'
requests and provide comfort meals for all.
Every single staff member at Highwood is accommodating, friendly and go above and beyond for every resident and visitors alike.
There is always a cup of tea and cake available and it is a real a home from home.

Excellent care home staff go above and beyond and are so caring. The home is so clean and inviting would not hesitate to recommend it definitely give it 5 stars! We are allowed to visit any time of day and are always welcomed by the staff who are always on hand to discuss any concerns.

My father initially went to Highwood for respite care to try out the care home experience. Once he had been there for a few weeks, the decision was made to become a resident. My father is enjoying his time at Highwood and even takes part in the activities, which I never thought he would. From my perspective,
I can now relax knowing that he is eating regular home-cooked meals, receives 24-hour care, is taking all of his medication and has company when he wants it. The staff are friendly and always make you feel welcome.

Highwood Care Home has the feel of a luxury hotel. Residents have the use of a hairdressing salon, therapy room, cinema room, library, sensory room and restaurant all included within the fee. The home staff have gone above and beyond to make the person I support feel welcomed, cared for and listened
to.
They have also been supportive to me as the transition of moving a loved one into a care home is a very emotive decision.
The residents have a full and busy week with so many activities to do.
The food is excellent and the chef takes requests for favourite meals.
I have always been able to speak to a member when I've visited.
I am so happy that my friend is going to be safe and well cared for here.
The rooms are of good size, beautiful decor and with their own en-suites.
I would highly recommend Highwood Care Home to anyone with care needs.

The facilities are excellent, food is excellent and all staff are professional, caring and compassionate. Mom's needs are well catered for and as a family, we feel very happy with how she is cared for. I would definitely recommend this care home

The comfort, beautiful decor and facilities provided at Highwood are exceptional. For me, most importantly, is the love and care that my mum has received and I have witnessed that in abundance from every single one of the dedicated and professional staff at Highwood.
It has given me such peace of mind
knowing that my mum is receiving such a high level of care both physically and mentally. Also, I would like to praise the chefs for providing such wholesome food which is carefully monitored to ensure Mum is getting all the nourishment and fluids she needs.
I also very much appreciate being able to visit at any time, night or day, and always being made to feel welcome.
It is never easy making the decision to put your loved one into a care home and it would make the process so much easier if the level of care that I have found at Highwood was as standard across the care sector, but unfortunately, it's not.
I highly recommend Highwood Care Home and I'm so grateful to you all, thank you.

Fantastic care home and staff. My father was looked after so well for the 10 days he was in Highwood. The staff were so friendly and helpful and my father felt very comfortable and safe there. I would highly recommend Highwood Care Home.

Following an initial viewing in May, my brother and I arranged some respite care for Mum. We were so impressed with the building, decor and 'feel' of Highwood, especially the attention to detail. Once a date had been agreed, we arrived to a wonderful welcome, and all the staff on duty came to greet
us and introduce themselves, which immediately put our minds at rest. There was a special welcome poster for Mum, a cup of tea and cake to settle any anxiety, and we were all able to enjoy some lunch together before leaving Mum with some newfound friends. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed, and everyone was supportive, caring and considerate. There was a great deal of thought with regard to Mum's room location, and this was much appreciated. We've been kept updated and have some lovely photos of Mum enjoying some of the activities. It's a huge relief to know that she is being well cared for and is in such a professional and beautiful environment.

This new purpose-built care home has been planned very carefully and successfully. My mother was the first resident to arrive and the staff couldn't have been more professional and helpful on our arrival. Stacey brings a wealth of experience having worked in elderly care for 14 years having begun my career as a care assistant. She has developed her career within different organisations and within various roles and has been lucky enough to spend 5 years of her career in commissioning services.


She has a passion for residents living fulfilled lives and ensuring that her colleagues are delivering exceptional person-centred care.


The best part of her day is walking around and seeing residents and colleagues happy and you will often see her participating in a wellbeing activity or 2! She is positive at Highwood you will hear laughter daily as we work together to achieve Outstanding and to become the home of choice across North Devon and beyond.

Vicky is qualified as a registered nurse in 2008, prior to that working as a healthcare assistant in the social sector and the NHS.


Working at the hospital Vicky trained in a variety of wards including respiratory, gastrointestinal, general surgery and post-operative recovery.


Vicky then changed direction in her career and returned to social care working in a local nursing home before commencing her role as deputy manager at Highwood and is looking forward to working with a team that promotes and delivers person-centred care to the highest standard
