My first experience of a nursing home and I have been really happy with my mothers care. The home is clean and bright, the staff are great and my mother is starting to know them. She is clean and well fed and cared for. They are happy to get her anything she asks for and she is starting to settle in
well.

The availability of the manager is excellent. Always willing to listen and sort problems out. All of the staff are very kind and caring. One of the carers has been so lovely with my husband giving him a hug and reassurance. Even a touch of the hand helps him, and too many to name who have been so nice
to him, can't remember all their names but they have all helped enormously. Thank you to them all.

My father was diagnosed with dementia 2.5 years ago and we were advised he would have to be moved to reside permanently in a care home, for his safety and ongoing safeguarding.
With there being so many horror stories (rightly or wrongly), it was very important to the family that we try very hard to
select the right care home for my dad. Holmes Court most definitely did not disappoint. I genuinely don't think we could've picked a better care home.
The manager and team were exceptional. My father was cared for and well looked after and on so many occasions, the staff 'went the extra mile', regularly in their own time, to make sure my dad had what he needed at all times when he needed it.
Anyone wondering about this care home need not wonder. If you want exceptional service and top-level 24-hour care for your loved one, this is the care home for you. Don't look any further.
Thank you so so much Holmes Court staff, for everything you did to support my dad in his final years.

It was with reluctance that we had to make the decision to take Mum into Holmes Court due to her disabilities and increasingly difficult behaviour due to her mixed dementia.
After her initial 'settling in' period which certainly exercised the patience of the most experienced of the fabulous staff,
Mum saw Holmes Court as her home which was a huge thing given her fiercely independent nature and desire to stay in her own home.
Mum's behaviour could be best described as challenging most of the time but she was always treated with respect and warmth.
As a family, when visiting could sometimes prove stressful, we felt reassured and were always grateful for the excellent levels of communication.
Mum's final days at Holmes Court (and continued support) were made bearable for us by the kindness and consideration of all members of the team who do not get the true recognition they deserve in what can be a very challenging environment given the level of care needed by each resident.

Holmes Court welcomed my mum when she arrived back in January, from hospital. Since then she has had brilliant care.
They have looked after her through her confusion ensuring that she was safe.
The staff have organised events and encouraged Mum to go along,(Mum tends to like her room) and she had
a great time.
Very caring staff, sorry that due to travelling I need to move Mum.

I had been dreading the need for my wife to go into a care home, but as soon as I stepped through the doors of Holmes Court Care Home I felt more relaxed. My daughter and I quickly got to know many of the management team and staff were most impressed by their concern and care for residents. This care
and concern was directed to me during the hours 36 hours I was allowed to spend with my wife before her death.

We couldn't have wished for a better care home for our uncle during his last days. He was very comfortable and happy there, and all the staff were very friendly, helpful and caring. Thank you so much for looking after him.

I have a grandparent in Holmes Court and I cannot thank and praise the staff and manager for their hard work, especially in the circumstances surrounding Covid. The staff all wear the correct PPE and I have witnessed them all sanitise their hands regularly. I would definitely recommend this home.

Mum went into Holmes Court at the beginning of lockdown, it was a very distressing time for us all having to let her go. But we needn’t have worried. She is extremely well looked after, all of the staff do a magnificent job. She always looks clean and well presented, eats very well, is treated with
respect and is safe. Mum seems happy in her own little world. The staff have done a tremendous job of keeping Covid out of Holmes Court whilst still allowing visits in a specially built pod in the grounds of the home. It’s never too much trouble to have contact with mum through WhatsApp either. The staff keeps in contact with us to let us know what’s going on either by phone or email. We can’t, as a family, thank everyone enough for what they do and how well they take care of our mum.

My mum went into Holmes court in June 2020 with Alzheimer's. The staff are kind caring and attentive. She is well looked after always looks clean and tidy and is more than well-fed. During covid, the team have gone out of their way to make sure we have always had contact either via video call or the
pod outside and now the visits inside all covid rules have been followed making sure the safety of the residents and staff. I would have no doubt recommending the home, my mum is happy here and safe and being looked after I wouldn't wish for her to be anywhere else.

Firstly I cannot praise the manager and her team highly enough. Mum had to enter Holmes Court after a fall at the start of lockdown. The care Mum has received during this very difficult time has been second to none, even getting specialist equipment in to keep Mum safe.
Mum is very happy at the home
and I would have no reservations in recommending Holmes Court to anybody.
Keep up the good work and thank you so much from all the family.

My grandmother is in her late nineties and has lived at Holmes Court since April 2018. She is very happy and well cared and we can't imagine a better place for her. Prior to lockdown my wife and I visited regularly and we were always impressed by the homely atmosphere and dementia-friendly features/decor.
The staff are wonderful and since the start of lockdown, they have enabled us to have regular Zoom calls with Gran. On 22nd November we were very pleased see Gran in person for the first time since March using the Covid secure pod they've erected in the garden. We are extremely grateful for everything the staff have done to keep Holmes Court covid free and safeguard the residents since the start of the pandemic. We are also immensely grateful for the care, skill and compassion they provide to Gran. Thank you very much to all of them.

Very pleased to be able to visit my beautiful wife today for the first time in weeks during, what is still a COVID-19 lockdown period. Holmes Court have gone to considerable lengths to enable this to happen by erecting a very spacious pod in the garden, which caters for all safety requirements admirably.
The manager and her wonderful staff are doing a fantastic job in caring for my wife and would not wish her to be anywhere else, as it is impossible for me to care for her at home due to the dreaded Alzheimer’s. The care my wife receives is delivered in a very compassionate and loving way, the comfort this brings to me and the family is so reassuring. Thank you to all at Holmes Court for providing such a homely environment and maintaining immaculate standards.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.193)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.193) out of 10 for Holmes Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.831 for Holmes Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (52 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 59 Ratings = 4.831

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.362 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Holmes Court Care Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 29 registered maximum number of service users is 5.8. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 5.8 = 0.862

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
