A warm, bright and welcoming setting, residents at Hulton House receive high quality care and support from a highly trained and committed team who are dedicated to enriching the lives of both residents and their families, through kindness, engagement, communication and a passion to make a difference.

At Hulton House, they take a 'whole home' approach to creating meaningful activities for residents. All staff, no matter what their job title, are responsible for ensuring that any interaction they have with residents reflects their personal interests and preferences at all times. From the way they like to prepare for the day, their hobbies and interests, the way they like to enjoy their food, or keep in touch with relatives and friends and the way they like to prepare themselves for their night time routine. The team believe all these things should be meaningful to the resident and the way they lived their life before they moved into the home

A regular weekly programme of inclusive activities is also available and includes themed events, trips out, visits from professional musicians and entertainers, guided walks round the gardens and to the local duck pond to feed the ducks, chair-based exercise classes, arts and crafts, baking, film nights, games on the Tovers (interactive table) and a trip out on the virtual car experience. Residents are also encouraged to take advantage of the pamper suite where they can enjoy pedicures, manicures, massages, hair cutting and styling.

The care given here is amazing. Every single member of staff goes above and beyond to care for my dad. There is always someone available to talk to and I am confident my dad is being very well cared for.

My wife has been here since January 2020. On the whole, we have found it an excellent place. The staff are competent and friendly and I admire their patience. In consultation, we are allowed most things we ask for e.g. help in wheelchair outings. The food is first-rate. During Covid lockdown, I was
able to see her through a window and communicate by mobile phone. During 2020 especially young staff were especially helpful. On the few occasions I have seen and spoken to night staff, they are equally helpful. Sometimes it is a little difficult to get through on the phone but not much of an inconvenience.

Dad has settled in very well, he is a lot calmer than he was in his previous home and the staff are wonderful and looking after him extremely well.

I find that the care my mother receives is excellent and the staff are kind and considerate to the residents and families. The rooms and residents are always clean and tidy, the staff are always willing to talk to families about anything related to the guest. Visiting at any time is always allowed.

My mum has recently moved into a Hulton House due to her deteriorating Alzheimer’s.
The staff, from reception to management and hands-on carers have all been very helpful in making this transition for mum and family as stress-free as possible. Mum is already settling into her new environment and joining
in activities and we are always made to feel welcome whenever we visit.

The staff at Hulton House Care Home have been exemplary in their care of my husband. As he is non-verbal, this can prove challenging at times but they have displayed patience and kindness in their approach to this and have built a good relationship with him. I have always found them helpful with any
queries I might have and would recommend this care home to family and friends. It has a very high standard.

I have visited a resident at Hulton House Care Home today. He was happy clean and content. The home was clean. The staff were friendly. The home has a lovely atmosphere. We were offered refreshments during the visit. I felt confident that the friend I visited today was being cared for and treated with

Firstly I must say what an excellent Care Home Hulton House is.
The level of care shown is without doubt first class, every visit we have been to is a very relaxed atmosphere, he is always very well presented in his appearance, and you can see that he is being very well looked after by the staff.
The
staff I have spoken to have all been very nice and attentive and available to answer any questions you might have and to add to that they all have a smile on their faces and I think that that says quite a lot.
When the staff walk past you there is always an acknowledgment.
The Home are quick to report to you if anything has happened that you need to be aware of.
There has been a lot documented about Care Homes especially with the pandemic, but through a lot of adversity and being left hanging high and dry by the Government, the people who have been keeping the residents safe from the virus and with very little protection to themselves should always be remembered for what they have done

People say that it’s the little things that make the difference and there are no truer words for what makes Hulton House so special.
The staff have all taken the time to get to know my mum, so they know exactly what she needs at any one time. She is loved, cared for and about, encouraged to have fun,
but what is truly special is the way they do all these things. When she got up and dressed at 2 am wanting to party, the night staff put on the music and danced the night away with her. When she is sad, they get out her photograph album, make her a favourite treat - ice cream sundae or FaceTime call us so we can cheer her up. When she is agitated, they walk with her and talk to her about the things and people she loves until she is calm. Whatever she needs and whenever she needs it - she gets it in abundance.
This is family away from family - incredible!

Hulton House presents itself on the first approach as a 5/6 star hotel, and it didn't take long for our family to realise that the staff treats their residents with exactly that degree of devotion to their care. To say that the family are well satisfied with my wife's care does not adequately express
our appreciation. Going and beyond the norm is clearly a standard requirement in the job description for the staff at Hulton House, and they achieve it at a canter. This care home is, quite simply, setting the standards that should be achieved by all who provide for those who need their services.

From walking into the front door, we were made to feel extremely welcome. We knew instantly our Dad was going to be cared for, all his needs were going to be addressed and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff we met had the time for us, we never felt rushed, we got to know them really, very quickly.
I wish this home was available us earlier.

Mikey

Mikey Moat

Job Title: Registered Home Manager

Joined: 2024

Mikey is a well-respected member of the Hulton House family and was promoted to Home Manager on March 1st 2024. Here he gives a brief history of his career to date.


'I have worked in the Healthcare Sector since 2013, starting in the nursing home sector, I migrated to the NHS in 2015 where I completed my Nurse Training and worked at Royal Preston Hospital for 8 years where I worked in many different areas such as Surgical, Medical and Acute Assessment Areas, I completed a short period within the community setting as a District Nurse.


I started employment with L&M Healthcare in 2022 where I’ve worked at Hulton House since. I started as a nurse then progressed to Unit Manager then Deputy Manager and now Home Manager, I strive to deliver person-centred care and improve the quality of lives for those under my direct or indirect care. I am an open, honest, and transparent individual who runs an open-door policy, meaning that you’re able to approach me at any point If you wish to do so.


On a personal note, I love interior design and have a passion for animals. I have seven dogs, 13 ducks, lots of fish, and soon-to-be two kittens. My dream one day is to have a farmhouse.'
