We have been to see lots of care homes for Dad and nothing seemed good enough, as soon as we approached Lanesborough House I had a really good feeling. On entering the reception it was outstanding, staff are very accommodating, always smiling, and very eager to help. The rooms are absolutely fantastic.
The cleanliness is second to none. We were very eager to get Dad a place. The care that my dad gets is outstanding. There is a nurse station and you have no worries that any medication that is administrated is correctly given by qualified nurses. It’s a happy, lively, and caring place and we are very very happy that they are looking after our dad. Lots of events, activities, trips out, even though Dad has dementia they never leave him out. Fantastic place.

My mother was a resident at Lanesborough House for over two years. The care provided by the staff on her unit was delivered at a very high standard and they treated Mum like their own. Initially Mum was experiencing anxiety episodes and one of the staff would sit with her for hours, reassuring her until
she felt calm again. Mum was given excellent personal care and regularly had her hair done and her nails painted. She loved spending time with the animals and cuddling the rabbits. She also enjoyed watching films in the cinema room and being involved in many other activities. Her routine was always adapted to her needs each day and her care plan regularly reviewed. Nothing was too much trouble, they even arranged a private meal when I took Dad to see her on their wedding anniversary! The family were always informed of any concerns and the GP contacted if needed. We completely recommend this nursing home for excellent, personalised care.

Dad’s been in Lanesborough House for around two years. He does have some very challenging behaviour and specialist needs. Lanesborough has met all these requirements and have truly been accommodating, providing excellent support and care. I echo the comments from others that the home reflects a hotel.
My dad’s dementia journey path is discussed in detail and planned with us as his children. We’ve met nothing but highly trained and caring individuals on all the units he’s been on, be that the specific male-only corridor or nursing wings. I highly recommend Lanesborough.

My dad has been a resident at Lanesborough for two years this month and has recently moved on to their excellent Nursing Unit. We chose Lanesborough to meet Dad's specialist needs having spoken to 30 other care homes. We are so glad that we chose the manager and her team. They have all been wonderful,
kind, encouraging and attentive towards him. Their care for Dad has been excellent and they have always shown great respect towards him as an individual. Perhaps just as importantly they have provided considerable support and advice to us as Dad's family as he continues on his dementia path. A big thanks to everyone at Lanesborough!

The staff at Lanesborough House Care Home are extremely kind, caring and friendly individuals. Whenever I visit my brother nothing is too much trouble for the staff who look after him. You are always made to feel very welcome and treated like you are part of the care homes community.
I cannot thank
the staff enough for all the kindness, care and understanding shown to my brother. Not only have they given my brother a better quality of life, I have been given my life back too. I don't spend days and nights worrying if he is being looked after properly, or if he is safe. Because I know the staff are extremely dedicated in their duty of care to my brother and that means the world to me and my family.
I am truly grateful to all the staff, so from my brother, myself and all his family thank you all.

My husband has been a resident at Lanesborough House Care Home since April 2023. He has Posterior Cortical Atrophy (PCA) which is a rare form of Alzheimer's so he does not present in the same way as other Alzheimer's patients.

This has been a difficult and emotional time for both of us and continues

to be, but I can honestly say that it has been made much easier by the care, empathy, and compassion that the carers and staff have shown to both of us.

He has very complex needs and they have worked with him with patience and understanding to find out what makes his life a little easier.

I feel that the staff on the Alcott Unit have become a big part of my life and I cannot thank them enough for making me feel like we are all working together for the best possible care that can be given to my husband.

My father was a resident at Lanesborough House Care Home from late October 2022 to mid-February 2023. Whilst he was only there for a short period of time, it was a four-month period that I will never forget for a variety of reasons. The level of care was outstanding, the facilities were amazing and
it was always a pleasure to visit my father. It was exceedingly gratifying to see him so genuinely happy, relaxed and, for want of a better phrase, at home. On a personal note, I feel truly privileged to have met so many inspiring and wonderful people throughout the organisation. Always cheerful, always helpful and always polite. And to the individual staff members I specifically encountered on the Peel unit, I will never be able to express how magnificent I think you all are. You and everybody associated with Lanesborough are a credit to the organisation and an example to us all. Thank you on my behalf and on behalf of my family.

I cannot use enough positive words to describe Lanesborough House. Even though my father was only a resident for four months before he sadly went to sleep, he regarded it as home.
He was always content, comfortable and safe there. The staff became like family to both him and myself and my brother.

They encouraged him to get up, go to the dayroom and even take part in a few celebrations, something we said he would never do, but the staff work their magic and there he is, in the day room every day, happy and watching all the comings and goings.
This is the best decision my brother and I ever made and I would have no hesitation in recommending Lanesborough to anyone having to use the services of a residential care home.
A magnificent home, beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Lanesborough House Care Home is the best care home I know. From management, carers, activity team and nurses. You're relatives, partners, loved ones, even you're friends are treated with the upmost care, attention and respect. Irrespective of their level of illness they are still treated as human beings,
which is what they are. Lanesborough House has my upmost respect for the way they treat me when I visit and the way they care for my partner. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. You can always leave you're loved one at night knowing they are being well cared for. Thank you to the manager and all her fantastic team. Xx

My father was one of the first residents of this care home when it opened. He moved in just before the first lockdown. We were really impressed with the excellent facilities available to residents including the well-appointed and tastefully decorated communal areas. The rooms are modern, spacious and
have very good en suite bathrooms and kitchenettes. During lockdown, we were kept informed of the changes in place regarding visiting and all efforts were made to provide some interaction with family with the difficult restrictions in place. PPE and Lateral Flow Testing kits were provided on-site.
From the start, the staff at Lanesborough House Care Home were professional and welcoming, a true credit to the company. It was a real comfort to us all to know he was safe and so well cared for.
The level of care, love and attention dad received was fantastic. The staff were so amazing as we spent our final hours with Dad.
Thank you all.

Absolutely wonderful home. The staff are amazing. My Nan moved there with advanced dementia and Alzheimer’s combined. Her behaviour is very challenging, to the point as the illness progressed it was quite shocking for us as her family to see. It is such a cruel illness and it stripped my Nan of her
independence. Lanesborough goes above and beyond to support my Nan, allow her independence, and care for her. They treat elderly life the same way you’d expect to treat a new life, they are kind, compassionate, attentive, caring, patient, supportive but most of all loving.
They truly do care and on top of all the brilliant care they provide for my Nan, they support us as a family, most of all my elderly grandad. Their kindness towards him, It’s actually breathtaking. I wholeheartedly recommend this home. My Nan never wanted to go in a home, we never wanted it for her, but they are providing the best end of life care for her, I couldn’t even have wished for it. They’re all amazing. Thank you!

Mom was transferred to Lanesborough Care Home as we began the isolation, we hadn’t seen her for 6 weeks or more. She’d lost the ability to walk and was bedridden. Within weeks of arriving at Lanesborough, she was on her feet walking with a frame and assistance. She thrived having company, care and other
residents and staff to chat to and care for her. We were consulted on every aspect of mom's care and our needs were met fully. We were in contact by phone chatting to mom, by face time and window visits throughout 2020/21. Mom enjoyed the food too
Mom became ill and we chose Lanesborough to care for her.
Mom was extremely happy here and was always treated with respect and dignity.
In her last days, we were able to spend that time with her and we saw first-hand the care provided and love given by staff and management to her. We were treated with the utmost respect and care. Also, the support we received was brilliant. It was evident that the “C” was in care. I would recommend Lanesborough. Thank you.

My father came to this home with advanced dementia and occasional challenging behaviour, because Lanesborough stated they are specialists in these conditions. My father was with them for 4.5 weeks and had to move on. It was very distressing for my father and very upsetting for his family.

My father-in-law has vascular dementia and presents with some challenging behaviours, particularly during personal care. We chose Lanesborough House mainly because they had Challenging Behaviour as a specialism on the CQC website, and he moved there in November 2020. We intended this move to be his
last but unfortunately, within one month he has left. This was a very difficult situation for my father in law.

The manager and her team do an amazing job at this care home. This is the best care home that my mum has been in, and she has been in a few! The staff are learning to anticipate Mum’s needs and consequently Mum is getting great care. Mum has been living here for nearly twelve months and I obviously
haven’t been able to visit inside the home yet, but the staff have always been very helpful and friendly on the phone or on the door, it feels like nothing is too much trouble, even though I know they are extremely busy. I would thoroughly recommend this home to anyone looking for a very comfortable home with great management and staff.

Wonderful home. The facilities are exceptional but the level of care goes way beyond this. My father, with dementia, was cared for so kindly and respectfully, with one particular staff member going above and beyond to support and care for him that she even came in on her day off for his birthday. We
are so grateful to know that he was looked after so well when we were not allowed to visit due to covid. The home also supplied a beautiful anniversary cake for my parents, which made their last anniversary special. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My Dad was taken into Lanesborough during lockdown. I must say although I have not yet actually been inside (Covid-19) I am well impressed with what I have seen so far. This care home is like a hotel. The staff are lovely, each and every one I have either met or spoken to on the phone are so friendly,
caring and professional, nothing is too much trouble for them so I know my dad is being cared for and looked after really well. I would most definitely recommend this care home.

My mother was admitted to Lanesborough House just before lockdown in March. On our initial meeting with the staff, we found them to be very professional, caring, understanding and attentive to our mother’s dementia care needs. We have found all the staff very approachable and always willing to help.
The home is beautiful, it looks very comfortable with excellent facilities and daily activities, the large-sized bedrooms are perfect. As a family, we are so pleased that our mother is looked after and cared for 24/7 by the dedicated caring professionals. I would thoroughly recommend this beautiful caring home.

My dad has just returned back to his own home after a short stay here. During his time here he found staff to be friendly and helpful and has spoke highly of some staff members he found the care to be fantastic. Plenty of choice at mealtimes and felt his independence was never taken away from him. On
the times I did visit staff were friendly and helpful I have no concerns or issues. I feel they really did look after him and now he’s more confident and comfortable back at home.

I have seen a lot of nursing homes over the past two years who have then unfortunately been unable to meet my loved ones needs. I am now glad this happened, as that led me to Lanesborough House. I truly believe I fell lucky when finding Lanesborough. The decor and attention to detail within the home
is second to none and this is also reflected in the care delivered. The care staff take a genuine interest in each resident and my loved one seems so happy and engaged. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. The management are very approachable, knowledgeable and put my mind at ease about this being my loved ones forever home. I would recommend this home to anyone and already want to book myself a place.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.930)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.930) out of 10 for Lanesborough House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

The Average Rating of 5.000 for Lanesborough House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (70 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.93 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lanesborough House Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 91 registered maximum number of service users is 18.2. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 18.2 = 0.33

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
