Since my partner became a resident of Lanesborough house, in one month I have seen a huge shift in his ability to converse, mix, and his whole demeanour has gratefully changed. His verbal skills have improved, his social skills are improving and as his partner of almost 29 years I have noticed all the
above for the better. This is all due to the care and attention and the dedication of all the staff involved on Alcoott Unit. All the staff from reception to the nursing staff, to all the unit staff, far too many to mention having all helped with his care and which I am extremely grateful. I feel so much happier for his future.

Very efficient transfer from previous Care Home.
Our relative had complex health needs which previous Care Home could not manage.
Transfer through Care Home Manager, virtual tour arranged due to current Covid restrictions, who is very professional and experienced.
Environment is beautiful, a new
care home with excellent facilities. ( Spacious rooms with en-suite shower, kitchenette, coffee area.) Shared lounges with a bar, all decorated tastefully.
Activities for residents arranged daily.
Staff very friendly and capable.
I feel assured that care will be of a high standard.

My hubby has vascular dementia, I was his carer. Unfortunately, the illness took hold, it was too much for me to nurse him. To find a care home for someone who at the time had challenging behaviour was impossible. Nowhere in Worcestershire could or would take him so looking out of area Lanesborough
House stepped up. My prayers were answered. I cannot believe what a wonderful place he has gone to, it’s like a 5-star hotel and that’s an understatement, it’s state of the art aids to help with privacy so the staff can nurse at a distance to hands-on nurse care if required. The rooms are massive with own TV and en-suite, they all have their own fridge. The staff are absolutely wonderful, caring, considerate, they are there if needed but can step back and care from a distance. The personal care they give is second to none. They have activities every day if residents want and food is restaurant standard. My hubby has settled so well which gives me reassurance. All carers are wonderful I love this home.

Form the moment I first called Lanesborough House to enquire I was greeted with professionalism, friendliness and immediately had a good impression. Placing our mother into care during lockdown was an incredibly difficult decision to make but all the staff immediately put me at ease. From FaceTiming
me when my mother arrived, to daily updates as to how she is doing. I could not ask for better care and truly believe we as a family couldn’t be looking after her any better than the staff at Lanesborough are. In such a short amount of time, we have seen our mother go from being withdrawn at home to now being the life and soul of the party. I would recommend this home to all.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.930)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.930) out of 10 for Lanesborough House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

The Average Rating of 5.000 for Lanesborough House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (70 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.93 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lanesborough House Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 91 registered maximum number of service users is 18.2. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 18.2 = 0.33

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
