Excellent service, peaceful and befitting to end of life.
The palliative care was second to none, we were fortunate to have husband, father, grandfather taken into the care of Lea Grange.
The staff were amazing, caring and respectful throughout the end of life care, as a family we could not fault
any of the services provided.

Mum was very comfortable staying over the Christmas period. The staff were very friendly and caring and mum was very safe and well cared for. She only had breakfast and was with family during the day so did not really take part in any activities. Thank you for your care and kindness. Happy New Year.

I cannot express enough how grateful we are to have had the pleasure of the staff at Lea Grange Care Home.
The care and respect my father and family members received from the moment our father was accepted into the care of the staff and home was amazing.
During palliative care, my father was in the
best place, where the staff were attentive, and surrounded by his family in a quiet peaceful environment, till my father's passing.
I cannot thank the people who took care of our father and also the family members who also needed support during this difficult time.
Thank you so much, you all have a place in my life, that I will never forget.

My wife needs respite care to overcome recurrent falls and a spell in hospital. Lea Grange Care Home has been totally outstanding in providing this care. The facilities are new and second to none. The staff, including the management team, have gone out of their way to be helpful. The food is tempting
and well presented and the activities organisers have gone out of their way to involve my wife and accommodate her disabilities. Overall 10 out of 10 with no reservation.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.019)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.019) out of 10 for Lea Grange Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.943 for Lea Grange Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (66 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 4.943

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.076 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lea Grange Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.6 = 0.476

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
