I looked at this place before it was finished and was very impressed. I sent details to the sons and came with them to look again. We spoke to the Customer Relations Manager who gave us all the details without being pushy!
My sister settled in well and is now as happy as she could be. The carers are
amazing, except for one who was very brusque with my sister one late afternoon, because my sister had messed herself a bit. The other carers are amazing people. My only other gripe is getting in! Sometimes I buzz and buzz and no reply. Not good in the winter.

My mother (94) went to Mayflower Court 3 weeks ago, initially for respite care, as she has dementia. However, she has settled in and responded so well to the environment and staff, we have decided to make it her home, with the reassurance that she is being cared for well and is happy there.
The staff
are cheerful and friendly and we have been made to feel very welcome.
The rooms are bright, very clean and spacious and the decor throughout the building is excellent.
The food is good, with lots of choice and individual needs are catered for.
I am looking forward to taking her into the gardens when the weather is warm enough.
I would highly recommend this care home.

This is a great place and whilst not quite right for my mother we were so impressed by Anchor that we selected another Anchor home for my Mother.

I have been made to feel very welcome and the staff are friendly and helpful. Foods and drinks are offered regularly and appears to be appetising. Residents are invited to take part in activities and socialise which is a lovely option to be able to do. Facilities are excellent, clean and comfortable.

My mother was a resident here for a very short period only as due to her medical conditions she deteriorated very quickly indeed. However we cannot speak too highly of the care she received, nor of the support and kindness shown to us also. Although having lived independently for many years indeed,
she adapted well to what she described as her "5 star hotel with care" and loved it at Mayflower Court. We were so impressed at the attention shown to her by ALL members of staff, the care staff quickly established a very close bond with her, and this was very evidently reciprocated by Mum, who would welcome individuals with a beaming smile when they came on duty. The difference when she moved from hospital could not have been more marked. Caring, attentive staff, prepared to spend time communicating with her meaningfully, coping with her deteriorating health with dignity, and going the extra mile. Thanks for making her last days so positive, we could not have chosen better for her.

My mother is now in a safe and caring environment where she is well looked after, eats and sleeps well, and is benefiting from social interaction and activities, even managing to play a little golf in the garden.


Mayflower Court is light and airy with well designed gardens and each lounge/dining

area caters for 8-10 residents which encourages a homely environment in which staff can cater to the individual needs of residents.


The management, care and activities staff are not only kind and caring with my mother but are also supportive to me and keep me well informed. No request is too much trouble.


I could not have chosen a better care home for my mother.

This care home is excellent in every aspect. I came here over Christmas following a hip replacement. I had a personal care plan specific for my needs which differed completely from a resident who was elderly and required longer term support. The spacious corridors enabled me to mobilise without hazards,
and my room was free from clutter. Particular attention was given in complying with recommendations for adaptations to furniture and bathing requirements, so I felt safe at all times. The staff were trained by Anchor to an extremely high standard and demonstrated kindness and professionalism often advanced of their years.They were quick to respond to call bells over the whole 24 hour period and adapted to all requests immediately.
I was particularly impressed by the flexibility of the service, allowing me to attend appointments without forgoing meal times etc.
My room was kept spotless at all times and all laundry done on the premises was laundered separately and returned on the same day.
The catering was superb with a vast selection daily or adapted to alternative requests.
During the festive season, there was constant entertainment provided , and as most required audience participation, we sang our carols together with the staff and residents from the Anchor complex opposite. My friends and work colleagues have all visited and are impressed with the care and facilities I doubt I would have made such a speedy recovery without the services of Mayflower Court- so thank you all.

I placed my mother, who is suffering from dementia, into this care home last month.


I have to say what a wonderful place this is - brand new and purpose built - not a former family home that has been converted/extended as many are.


The staff are friendly, patient and welcome visitors and I am

pleased I chose this home for my mother.


The food is excellent, the facilities good and the joining in of activities strongly encouraged.

My Uncle has been at Mayflower Court for approximately 1 month now, and it is such a lovely and caring environment. All the staff are extremely helpful, from the managers through to the handymen. It is very easy to make contact with the managers and talk through any concerns. The carers make sure
that the residents have plenty of attention and are always on hand in case of a problem, or just to offer a cup of tea or provide a steadying hand during a walk. The garden is beautiful and totally accessible even for people with very limited mobility, while providing lots of interest and many quiet corners to sit in the sun. The interior of the home is beautifully furnished with plenty of natural light and it is easy to walk around inside in order to get some exercise/ change of scene. Visitors are made most welcome - it is a pleasure to go there.
