The state-of-the-art New Lodge residential care home offers 45 individual care suites, all of which have lift access. Each suite has a spacious private bed sitting room with level access wet room ensuite bathrooms and storage. There is personalised support available 24 hours a day and each care suite is connected to a dedicated call care system.

The care home is bright and airy and is beautifully decorated throughout. Residents have access to communal facilities including a garden room, hairdresser, dining rooms, lounges and other social seating areas. A particularly fine feature are the landscaped gardens which are private and secure, allowing residents to enjoy the outdoors at their convenience.

The Head Chef’s staff prepare meals reflecting the preferences of all residents while the Activity Co-ordinator’s team of volunteers provide a wide range of events and activities throughout the year.

New Lodge care home is at the heart of the award-winning New Lodge retirement and extra care community in New Earswick, York.

As part of their service, every resident at New Lodge receives: a single bed; large comfy chair; desk and chair; wardrobe; pendant and wall call bell; laundry service; daily room clean; bed change; assistance with bathing/showering/personal care; all meals and a variety of snacks and refreshments; daily activities and social stimulation; ordering and storage of medication; administration of medication if required; regular updated care plans via Resident of the Day; regular weighing; PCR Test three days before admission; 4 weekly covid testing.

They ask residents to provide: Television/Radio/Lamps/Clocks; all bedding and linen (at least two sets of bedding and one Duvet/pillows); Towels/Flannels.

Toiletries; Clothing/coat hangers – please can items of clothing be named; Mirrors/Pictures – which can be hung by the home's maintenance operative; Any walking aids/wheelchair/Toilet raiser.

Fantastic loving care in beautiful surroundings. My mum moved here a few months ago and I cannot fault new lodge. The staff are friendly and attentive. It is the perfect home from home.

Excellent care is offered to my mum. The staff is always friendly and approachable treating Mum with dignity and respect. A lot of thought has been put into the layout of the building offering many areas to sit, share activities, walk around the garden and maintain as much independence as possible.

When looking for a care home for my mother I visited six care homes in York but only New Lodge gave me a great feeling of relief as I walked in as it felt more like a home than an institution. The feeling was due to many factors, including the friendly welcoming interested staff, the light airy open
design of the building and the lovely gardens. Mum had always said she wouldn't go into a care home but after protests on the first day, the next morning she was happily interacting with the staff and residents and enjoyed her meals and a walk in the garden. She has now settled well and continues to blossom as a result of the care New Lodge and its staff provide. She is and looks much healthier, talks and laughs more, walks and sleeps better and enjoys being with her new friends and taking part in activities with them. Moving to New Lodge was definitely the right choice.

Mum has been a resident at Rowntree Lodge since December 2021. Initially, she struggled to settle and adjust to the different way of living. The staff were (and remain) so very kind, caring and supportive and worked hard to ease the transition.
Mum has a lovely, generously sized light, well-equipped
room and soon it became home. The home is extremely well maintained and is kept spotlessly clean. The standard of care is very high and I feel confident that Mum is safe and well cared for.
There are a good range of activities on offer and the Activities Co-ordinator works tirelessly to produce a programme which offers something for everyone. Staff are always available for a chat and keep me informed of any changes. Mum's visitors often comment on the friendliness of the care team who offer a consistent warm welcome.
Rowntree Lodge has a lovely, large, accessible garden which we take advantage of in the warmer months. There is a short covered walkway to the Folk Hall if a change of scene, tea with cake, or access to a post office is needed.

Used security doorbell to gain entrance which is great for security of residents. The door is always opened promptly by friendly staff usually from the office. Offered tea to have in Mum's room which is more homely. Found Mum sitting in a chair watching TV which she chose over the general TV room as
not too well with neck pain. I provided incontinence pads as the order was not due for another month or so. Staff busy with duties and the doctor is onsite for checks as required. Left when it was lunchtime. Thank you all.

Mum has received outstanding care since being admitted. It has made my life easier knowing I am at peace of mind that she is being looked after so well. They treat her like part of the family and always make time for one-to-one sessions with her. She gets spoilt when it is her turn to be president of
the day. Every day of the week there is a full activity planner for everyone to join in. The staff are so supportive and always keep me updated on any concerns arising.

The care team are very good with my mum, always ensuring that she has received all that she needs and not rushing her, even though there are often multiple demands on their time. Every time I visit my Mum her face tells me how happy, content, cared for she is. I haven't got any worries or concerns just peace of mind that Mum has excellent 24 hour care. All the staff do an excellent, amazing job and treat every resident as if they were a member of their own family.

We were quite concerned about moving our mum to a new home, but we really need not have worried. Everyone here is so helpful and friendly, and Mum has settled in so well! I was so touched when I visited one day to find that some items, which would mean a lot to Mum, had been placed in a display case
outside her door, such a lovely, personal touch.
