My mother was in this home and was neglected, had a broken hip. The senior carer did nothing. Three days hobbling on her broken hip until my sister and I got a doctor. My mum had to have a replacement hip. My mother went to the hospital, then another care home. Unfortunately the same at the new home,
it wasn’t as posh so my older sister put her back into Northcare Manor because it looked good.

I cannot rate Northcare Manor highly enough for the love and care they gave my mother during her stay with them. It was a real home to her where she felt loved, safe, secure and completely contented.
It is a beautiful building inside and out with lovely gardens for the residents to enjoy. The home
is filled with love and laughter.
My mother loved the abundant amazing staff who are highly skilled, patient, kind loving people, who quickly become her family. Every one of them genuinely every day go that extra mile.
The owners are always available and the team are led by a fantastic manager who knows every aspect of running a nursing home.
I will be eternally grateful to them all for providing this level of love and care.Thank you to all them and a special thanks to the team.
Would highly recommend Northcare Manor for your loved ones.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.987)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.987) out of 10 for The Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.646 for The Manor is calculated as follows: ( (69 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.646

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.341 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Manor is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 74 registered maximum number of service users is 14.8. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 14.8 = 0.541

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

As The Manor's Manager, I have a strong conviction that each resident should have the opportunity to live their life as they wish to, in this very comfortable and prestigious setting.

I lead my professional Care Team in delivering the highest level of care and support for our residents.

My commitment to professional development has equipped me well for my role here, where I work hard to ensure that those in my care lead happy and fulfilling lives, whilst maintaining choice over the care and support they receive.

I believe in maintaining strong relationships with residents and their relatives and understand the important contribution that these relationships make to the successful running of a care home.

I feel that the Caring Homes philosophy matches up well with my own beliefs on care provision, and I am committed to ensuring that all our residents continue to receive the high levels of care and protection they deserve.
