Oak Hall in Haslemere, Surrey, opened its doors to new residents in November 2018, following an extensive refurbishment. It offers luxurious surroundings for 55 residents, all of whom enjoy their own en-suite rooms. Some of the rooms can accommodate couples.

In keeping with other homes within the group, Oak Hall will deliver exceptional levels of care in convivial surroundings. Restaurant-style dining is a key feature, alongside a dedicated Health and wellness team who will be running a wide range of well being activities to keep residents active in mind body and soul.

Oak Hall will offer a range of care options: residential, convalescent, respite and specialist palliative care are all available, each with the aim of providing dignity and respect through programmes tailored to the needs of the individual.

Oak Hall lives up to its name with a large oak-panelled entrance hall; oak staircase and balustrading with many further oak features throughout the building. The original interiors of the principal rooms remain little altered: marquetry inlay to some floors, plastered ceilings, stone and marble fireplaces, marble floors, heraldic stained glass and tiled bathrooms.

My mother was living at Oak Hall for just over a year. She received excellent care right up to her passing. The staff were very supportive and helpful, and as her retirement flat was within the grounds of the home, it meant an easy transition from being in her own home to being cared for.

Such a wonderful home. They looked after my Mum with such care and it was easy to see how much they cared for her, both her physical needs but more importantly her emotional needs. They were also always very caring to me and it felt like our second home.
I honestly could not had chosen a better home
for my Mum.
I would recommend this home to everyone they work hard at providing a high level of care and also activities to keep the residents motivated. The communication was excellent, always would ring me if there were any concerns and would respect my wishes for mum's care.
A truly wonderful home.

My elderly mother moved to Oak Hall following a fall which restricted her ability to walk. We have been very pleased with all aspects of the home. It is a lovely building set in beautiful surroundings but is easily accessible. Without exception, the staff are friendly and always willing to assist in
any way they can. My mother's room is bright and airy and she has personalised it with her own pictures and ornaments. We have had an excellent experience.

Mum had been a resident for just over 3 years. She loved the staff-all of them and, it was clear, they really cared for her. She enjoyed a laugh and they made time to chuckle with her. The activities programme was very varied but Mum was never under pressure to join in if she didn't want to. Having
said that, being very social, she did most things. She liked the food too. Being cooked on-site, it was always interesting and nicely presented. Sadly Mum died recently and the staff then were so helpful to us. If we had to place a relative in a care home again, I wouldn't hesitate to contact OakHall. We have no regrets. Mum was very content there.

Dad was a resident at Oak Hall from February 2022 to his death in October 2024.
The superb team of carers and nurses looked after him with warmth, humour and humanity. They made Dad laugh and vice versa. How vital is that?
When we wanted to have Dad changed, dressed, and hoisted into his wheelchair
so that he could get outside for some fresh air, there was always somebody to help. After a walk and lunch, wherever possible outside, someone was always there to help us get him back into bed.
The team get all the important things right. Dad was looked after, washed, changed, fed, talked to. He never had a pressure sore whilst he was there.
The beautifully maintained grounds are a sanctuary - somewhere to depressurize. We'd sometimes bring a picnic and sit in the sun. We wheeled Dad down to the tennis court and the family had a combined tennis tournament and picnic. There was no issue with the management team; who are helpful, compassionate and knowledgeable. They were happy to accommodate us.

Oak Hall recently provided end-of-life care for my husband and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Sadly he was only there for a very short while, but all the staff were compassionate and caring, and couldn't have done more for myself and my daughter. I cannot thank everyone enough.

A beautiful Victorian manor house is superb, well maintained and has original gardens. Helpful and friendly staff. Large public rooms with TV, games etc. Weekly programme of events and the restaurant open to visitors. Ensuite bathrooms in all resident's rooms. I have been visiting a friend there for
over 3 years. Although very disabled she appears quite happy.

We were so blessed to have had our Dad stay in Oak Hall at the end of his life between May to July 2024.
The staff team were; warm, friendly, caring, attentive, sensitive to individual needs not only to Dad but to my Mum, sister, our families and me. This, along with the gorgeous grounds, wonderful
drinks machine and lovely interior eased our anxieties and aided precious visits with Dad ensuring his last few months on this earth were the best they could be.
We honestly cannot thank Oak Hall and its incredible staff team enough.

My almost 90-year-old father stayed at Oak Hall to recuperate in May - June following some falls and suffering from long-term covid. It's a beautiful historic house, and the views over the lush rolling hills of the National Park are gorgeous. Dad had an excellent view from his large bedroom window and
enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace on sunny days. I think having such a lovely nature around really helped his recovery. The staff were helpful, friendly, cheery and professional, making Dad feel very welcome and treating him with dignity. The food was really excellent, Dad enjoyed every meal, and this helped him regain some of the weight he had lost. They have an excellent physio visiting as well. Dad also joined in a lot of the fun activities they do and was quite dedicated to the armchair exercise classes. He looked really transformed by the end of his 4 weeks there!

Fantastic staff who really put the 'care' into being a care home. Mum wasn't there for long as it turned into end of life, but everyone at Oak Hall was caring and compassionate and treated her with respect and dignity. Nothing was too much for them and they looked after all the little things. Great
communication with us as relatives at a difficult time. Full-time qualified nursing staff gave us huge peace of mind. Although Mum wasn't ever able to use all the facilities, Oak Hall is really well looked after as a home and presented spotlessly. Every single member of staff does a great job. Not the cheapest, but worth every penny and hence great value. Very highly recommended.

Mum was in Oak Hall for the last month of her life. The staff treated both her and us with incredible dignity, efficiency and tact. We are very grateful and would not hesitate to recommend Oak Hall. Unfortunately, Mum couldn't use the activities so I can't recommend them - but they looked great!

Wonderful service. My mother was well looked after. Kept very comfortable and not in pain. All the staff from qualified nurses, carers, general staff and admin staff are very sympathetic at a difficult time and could not have done any more for my mother or my brother and myself. They made the passing
of our mother as comforting and easy as possible. The location of the care home is lovely with access to gardens. The facilities throughout the hall and within individual en-suite rooms are very good. I would certainly recommend the care home for general residence care and end-of-life/palliative care. I cannot thank the team enough for the way they have helped over the last few difficult weeks.

Oak Hall did a super job providing emergency respite care for my mum following a hospital admission. The management and staff were flexible and caring and I felt confident that Mum was warm, safe and being well looked after. I have no hesitation in recommending Oak Hall to anyone.

I visited the care home in late January to see one of my friends. The home itself was magnificent with beautiful architecture and hardwood features. I was greeted as I entered the building by one of the staff who was very pleasant and asked if I would like a coffee.
All of the staff were polite and
pleasant helping me find my way through the home to my friend's room by leading me all the way there.
I asked my friend when we were alone how he felt about the care home and he also said he could not find one fault with the care that he is getting, he gets lots of interaction with other residents and enjoys the activities.
I have to say that I am very impressed with the home and wouldn't mind living there myself.

Excellent care home. My family friend received amazing, caring and compassionate care while staying here. Very understanding and helpful management. The rooms are lovely, clean and bright with exceptional views outside. A good selection of food is offered to the residents and a great selection of activities
that residents can attend. Nothing was any trouble for all the staff and I would highly recommend it.

We came for a visit at Oak Hall in January and found it very pleasant. The staff were welcoming and friendly with us and helped us get seated with my friend (the resident) for lunch.
The staff were very attentive to us and others seated around, and it had a very comfortable atmosphere. It was a lovely
time, and we had a good catch-up.

Jane

Jane McAuley

Job Title: General Manager

Joined: 2021

Jane is a qualified nurse holding both RNHM and RGN qualifications. She has worked in private houses, care homes and hospitals where she spent some time working in theatres.
Jane joined the Manor Life team at Oak Hall in April 2021.
She has a wealth of experience in managing care homes especially in helping care homes achieve good CQC ratings.


Dawn

Dawn Critchell

Job Title: Home Administrator

Joined: 2018

Dawn has worked at Oak Hall since July 2018 when it first opened as a Care Home. Dawn deals with all incoming enquiries for the home ensuring a high standard of communication is maintained.


Dawn started her career in the care industry as a Health Care Assistant and fell in love with the industry. Dawn decided to grow her knowledge of the industry and due to family commitments moved into the administration and HR side of the business.


Since being at Oak Hall Dawn has become an integral part of the team.

Rosemarie Williamson

Job Title: Senior Nurse

Joined: 2021

Rosemarie has worked here at Oak Hall since June 2021 as an RN. Rosemarie was appointed Senior Nurse in November 2022.


Rosemarie trained in Jamaica and qualified as an RN in 1994, as a Midwife in 1998 and as a Public Health Nurse in 2008.

In my spare time Shirley likes to walk my dog, Jasper and spend time in the garden, but most of all spending time with her 3 boys.
