My mum was transferred from the hospital to Olive Tree House for end-of-life care. She immediately looked more comfortable and rested in a less noisy and chaotic atmosphere than in the hospital. The care staff and deputy manager welcomed us in and made sure that Mum had everything she needed. They listened
and acted on any small detail that was requested which was fantastic. They even washed her hair and cut her fingernails which made Mum feel so much better. The care staff are very thoughtful and kind and like to keep you up to date with how things are going. The knowledge and professionalism of the deputy manager, nurses and doctors are outstanding. I cannot thank them enough for their holistic care and willingness to involve the family in Mum's care at every stage. Mum is very poorly now, but I am safe in the knowledge that she is well cared for at this very difficult time for the family. Thank you all so much. I will remember this exceptional care always and it means so much to me.

My father sadly passed away at Olive Tree House on Monday, 2nd January 2023. The staff were always professional, kind and totally devoted to their role in caring for him and us as a family. Dad could be difficult sometimes due to his illness, but they looked after him and us right to the end with dignity,
respect and kindness. I can't thank them enough or wish for him to have been cared for by anyone else.

Dad was moved into end-of-life care in October. He passed away on 2nd January. Because of his illness, he was very difficult to care for from the outset, yet we always found all staff so kind, caring, and able to provide all that he needed. We cannot imagine where anyone could find a higher quality
of care, and we are so grateful that his last months were with people who looked after him brilliantly.
From keeping us constantly informed to readily understanding and helping with the distress the family experienced, no one could ask more.
We will always be grateful to everyone at Olive Tree House. Outstanding managers, nurses, care workers and everyone. Thank you for everything, and we want people to know that no finer care is available.

My brother has been residing at Olive Tree since March 2021. He is settled and much more comfortable than he was at home (alone). He has late-stage frontotemporal dementia, which can be very difficult, yet the care shown to him has mellowed him a bit. The staff are wonderful with him and caring. I'm
kept informed of all or any issues. It's a huge relief to me to know he is well looked after. I'm his only relative. The building is clean and modern, and the staff go the extra mile to make him feel safe and comfortable.

As Dad was finding it more difficult to manage at home, we were able to move him to Olive Tree. It's a very nice home, lovey size rooms. Care staff are on call 24/7 and have been looking after Dad very well.

Fantastic care home. Care staff are incredibly caring towards Mum and all residents. They always treat relatives with the utmost respect at all times, nothing to every too much trouble. The lady at reception is just amazing and always happy to help. Thank you to her for everything!

Mum has been in the care home for about 6-weeks. She has Alzheimer's and has settled in well. The carers are absolutely amazing. They are so caring and kind. I have a newfound respect and admiration for them, working in a difficult situation. I feel that they are mum's family when we are not there.
Recently we have needed to have a review of her situation when she had regained some agitation and the nurses were also amazing and knowledgeable. We feel she is in safe hands despite us not being able to see her as much as we would like because of Covid. Cannot praise the carers enough. I have only put a low score for activities because of Covid only minimum can take place but the activity coordinator has found me and told me that she engages Mum whenever she can. Thanks to all staff.

I cannot express just how lovely the staff are here. My mum truly loves them and they also display the same affection when comforting her and you can see it is genuine. Mum is extremely challenging with advanced Alzheimer’s but the staff take it in their stride and deal with the behaviours mostly successful.
It gives the family peace of mind that she is properly cared for and very well fed…gone up 2 dress sizes in a couple of months! (Which she needed). Highly recommended.

Everyone at the care home from the moment I arrived from the hospital has been incredibly kind and caring, and nothing has been too much trouble. I was very demanding at the beginning of my stay, but they treated me with only kindness and understanding.

It is a very nice care home with lovely staff, very helpful and a good management team.
My relative is happy being a resident at Olive Tree House. The activity team is amazing, always happy to chat with residents, and she is doing group activities in the lounges every day.

It was heartening to experience the warm, kindly and refreshingly humorous attitude displayed to the residents in question. We (my spouse and I) agreed that the "essential" character of our relative was undiminished despite the advancing dementia which we witnessed. Staff were encouraging and it was
clear how much the residents looked forward to being served her lunch! Everything was clean, orderly and there was a nice relaxed atmosphere.

My Mum has been cared for at Olive Tree House since April 2018, and we feel extremely lucky that she was able to be placed here. The kindness, depth of experience and professionalism of the staff is something we will always be grateful for. Olive Tree is not just a care home, it is my Mum’s home. She
is treated with respect and dignity, by staff who clearly really care about her as a person. Her needs fluctuate, and she has a complicated medical history that many care homes would not be able to cope with. However, the team at Olive Tree simply adapt where necessary, meaning that her complex needs are managed extremely well. Recently, my Mum has been very poorly, and this is what has prompted me to write this review. It has highlighted the very high standard of care that residents receive. The staff at Olive Tree are all such lovely, friendly people, who are also highly skilled at what they do. At a very difficult time for us, we couldn’t wish for her to be in a better place.

Olive Tree House are looking after my 90 year old sister who has severe dementia. The care and attention she receives is second to none and I have nothing but the greatest admiration for all Olive Tree House personnel who are helping my entire family through a very difficult and sad time.

When Mum was diagnosed with Dementia/Alzheimers I was heartbroken, however since mum moved to Olive Tree having had poor care in a previous home since closed myself and family are living the dream with the piece of mind. The excellent care she so rightly deserves. Moving to Olive Tree was a huge impact
to Mum and family but so worth the stress to move. Olive Tree are very professional and supportive to residents and where needed family. Award of the year to Olive Tree.

As the new Manager for Rose Garden Nursing Home and Olive Tree House in Bristol, Vlad brings a wealth of experience and dedication to caring for the elderly. With a background as a nurse and extensive experience in management, his knowledgeable approach and expertise are invaluable, both to residents and his colleagues. Vlad is highly focused on meeting residents’ needs and supporting them fully to ensure the best possible outcomes and the highest quality of life. With a commitment to fostering a positive and joyful environment, he is also known for his sense of humour and his ability to make everyone laugh with his jokes!


Vlad’s vision as a manager is to create a nurturing and supportive atmosphere where residents feel valued, safe, and happy, while continuously reviewing and improving the quality of care provided.

Mutor has worked as a nurse in elderly care since moving to the UK from Ghana in 2019. She is passionate about working with older people and is compassionate in his approach to residents seeing it as a privilege to be part of each resident's life. Krupali

Job Title: Administrator

Krupali is highly experienced in the care sector and looks after the administration for both Olive Tree House and Rose Garden. Krupali’s career started in journalism, but when she moved to the UK in 2010 she started her career in care. Completing her Level 5 in Leadership and Management Krupali has worked in a number of positions including as a home manager. Kruplai says she feels very lucky to work in the care sector and the wonderful teams at the homes, who are all united sharing the same values of passion, dedication and respect.


Outside of work Krupali loves travelling, reading, listening to music and trying out cooking new cuisines.


Amanda

Amanda Porcel

Job Title: Regional Manager - Western Region

Joined: 2015

Amanda brings 40 years of working experience in social care to her role as Regional Manager for the Western Region of Allegra Care. Amanda has been a Registered Manager at both Olive Tree House and Rose Garden since they opened over 8 years ago. Very much a people person, she’s dedicated to helping others and passionate about elderly care and the difference it can make to people’s quality of life. From training and mentoring colleagues to building strong working relationships with healthcare professionals in the local community, it’s a positive outlook that also benefits her working relationships.


Catherine

Catherine Crawshaw

Job Title: Regional Resident Liaison Manager – Western Region

Joined: 2024

Catherine has worked in sales and marketing her whole career, after graduating with a degree in Textile Management she worked in Corporate Workwear for many years. Catherine’s first role in the care sector was working with a disability charity that ran nursing homes and enablement projects for young adults. While her two children were younger, she joined her husband in his estate agency, but was delighted to return to the care sector in 2020 and now cannot imagine doing anything else.


Catherine’s role with Allegra is to support residents and their families as they explore care options. Working with the teams in the individual homes she ensures that during every stage from initial enquiry through to moving in with us every question is answered, and we offer the reassurance needed for the next chapter in our resident’s life. It is important for our residents to remain part of the community in which will have lived for years, often all their lives, so the other part of this role is connecting with local community groups, charities and organisations. Catherine has said that working for Allegra with their groundbreaking household model means we are offering a home with compassion and care whilst ensuring residents are retaining their independence and quality of life.


Out of work, Catherine enjoys baking, gardening and walking the family Labrador. The children are older now, but still keep her busy!
