Park View is a care home, passionate about providing a range of 24-hour care services for older people.

Set over four floors, the home offers residential, dementia, and palliative care. Respite and convalescence care is also available. Situated on the top floor of the home are 17 Close Care Plus Apartments, aimed at residents who are still quite independent but have the option of support if required.

All bedrooms have an en-suite wet room with shower facilities, equipped with WiFi, telephone points, and digital and satellite television. Residents are encouraged to bring belongings to personalise their rooms.

The home offers a range of facilities including a coffee shop, a hair salon and a library, cinema room, as well as various activities and events. Mealtimes are very important and residents can eat delicious, freshly prepared and nutritious food at Park View Gloucester.

The facilities at Park View are very good and the staff are always very happy to try and accommodate any special/ad-hoc requirements. They are always supportive and sympathetic to my mother’s situation and needs and are always kind and caring.

We cannot fault Park View. My parents have been there for 10 months and are really happy. The staff are amazing, always cheerful, caring and extremely professional. Following a fall in which I fractured a bone in my pelvis, I decided to go into residential care for a month. Park View was an excellent choice after a search for a care home to cope with my complex medical needs.


After my stay, I had recovered sufficiently to return home to my wife, having regained

a great deal of my mobility and confidence. I felt extremely well-fed in a well-balanced way with excellent cooked meals and some of my personal choice. The home has lovely gardens to sit out in and a good entertainment programme for older residents.


All staff were very caring and friendly in a professional manner, but a very small minority of the overnight staff had poor command of English. There is a very competent nurse on-site, caring people at all levels, high standards of cleanliness and a very personal interest taken by senior staff in residents' well-being.


Should I need respite care in the future there is no doubt that I will book into Park View again (and again)!

My husband thought I will not like the home, but the staff greeted us so warmly; they said, "make it your own home". Really have such a great time, even booked for next year. I have been in the rest home you really meet a high standard. I am diabetic; they do puddings without sugar for me. I got pampered
with bath bubbles that were out of this world.

My dad was a resident from November 2019 until his death in January 2020. He was resident on the 2nd-floor nursing level to begin and then on the 1st-floor dementia level when his behaviour became challaging. I only have praise for Park View. My dad was not the easiest of people. All the staff, particularly,
on the dementia level treated my dad with care and kindness. A special mention to the Home Service Manager for being calm and treating my dad with respect and kindness and the Clinical Lead for her caring nature and keeping me in the loop with updates on dad.


He passed away in Park View after a short illness. The care he received during the end was wonderful and they made this difficult time easier. Thank you.


Park View arranges many activities and there is always lots of great things for the residents to do. It is a lovely care home. Clean, modern and beautifully decorated.

Mum has been at Park View for two years and after agonising over the initial decision of finding a care home that caters particularly for those with dementia, I can say that although it was a difficult step, it was 100% the right choice! Park View has a wonderful mix of staff who are always happy to
listen and support me and mum in any way they can. Any queries I’ve had have been addressed immediately and I have full confidence that if any problems or concerns arise, they will be taken seriously and dealt with. The home itself is always spotlessly clean and the food made there in the kitchens is high quality, fresh and homemade?. The program of activities has increased greatly with some fantastic things such as miniature donkeys coming to visit the residents and outings over to Gloucester Quays. Park View definitely gets my vote.

Park View provides an exceptional level of care within an immaculately cared-for and clean home. The communal rooms and corridors are spotless and unlike many other homes, there is no smell or institutional feel. Mum's room is spotlessly clean, her laundry is done weekly.
The staff do really care,
are really pleasant to residents and family, and go out of their way to see that residents' wishes are met and that they're happy in their day-to-day life.
I visit weekly, and after almost a year, there have been very few changes in staff, and I know that Mum appreciates the continuity of having regular carers, compared to agency staff, she's experienced elsewhere.
Mum's not overly keen on the food, but whenever she's raised it, the kitchen staff go above and beyond to try to find something she'd like.
Overall, Mum's very happy with her life at Park View and knows that if she wants something, all she has to do is ask and the staff will do their best to sort it for her.

From July 2019 when mum was offered a room at Park View all the staff have been very pleasant and caring, she is always dressed matching clothes and shoes. The rooms are bright and tidy and never unpleasant odours. Meal look appetising and well presented with attention to detail e.g a slice of lemon
on the fish.
Everything is very noticeable, considering my brother and I don't visit on the same day or time each week. Park View is very welcoming, clean and comfortable.

My father has been a resident for nearly two years and is extremely settled. The staff have been brilliant at helping him and to cope with a lot of changes. The care is positive and unobtrusive. The staff are always friendly and polite with him but firm when necessary. Despite the occasional "rebellion".
Room is well appointed and the effort taken by the staff to get their TV package installation upgraded when required for him was greatly appreciated.

My mother has been in Park View for over 2 years with dementia and we originally selected this accommodation as it was well above the standard of other homes we had visited. Of course, what makes a pleasant and safe home is the staff and on all occasions, we have found them friendly, caring and professional.
There have been a few issues but these were always sorted quickly. When my mother first moved in she was difficult and could be aggressive but the staff were able to handle her in a sympathetic way so that she is now more settled. Even though staff have come and gone as is normal in the industry (I couldn't do what they do!) standards have not varied or declined.

Both my parents, in their late 80s and early 90s were resident in Park View from 2017, initially only as a temporary measure following some health issues. Within a couple of weeks, they decided that the level of care and attention was so much of an improvement that they wished to remain on a permanent
basis. The levels of care have been excellent, the feedback from staff and management has been first-rate and my parents could not have wished for a better living environment. Living 150 miles away, it is extremely reassuring to know that they are being so well cared for, with good standards of food, cleanliness and accommodation. I would recommend Park View to anyone looking for a caring professional environment for their family member or themselves.

We are very happy with the care and attention my uncle gets at Park View. He has a very independent type of personality but he is treated with patience and good humour. His carer tries to persuade him to wear his hearing aids and replaces the batteries when needed. He is reminded to change his clothes.
He has put on weight so we know he is eating well. Our questions are always answered in a timely fashion and any concerns we have are taken seriously. Naturally, there are occasional times something does not happen immediately, but the staff are people often dealing with unpredictable people so these things happen now and again. We would be happy to recommend the Park View.

Dad's been living in Park View for 18 months and we feel very happy to have found it. The premises are still in new condition and everything works. More importantly, the staff from managers, care staff, reception, cleaners, to maintenance are universally friendly and go out of their way to be helpful.
Food is good, possibly too good as I've had to purchase larger trousers for him. There are lots of activities they can join in or not as they see fit. He loves having lots of his own possessions and furniture which makes it feel like home. Highly recommended from our experience.

I could not recommend Park View highly enough - even a social worker who I have had to deal with over funding queries said that they think it is the best Care Home in Gloucester! My father has lived here for the last 3 years and is very happy in his ground floor room. All the staff are very kind and
nothing seems to be too much trouble. Clean, bright and fresh, it feels very much like a family community, always welcoming and friendly, with lots of activities and regular social functions.

Before working in care, my career spanned diverse industry sectors providing management, accounting, administrative and technical services. Now a registered manager with CQC for older people’s services, I first worked in care as commercial manager for Learning Disability Services some 13 years ago. I then found my passion and career ‘home’ when I took a role as care manager in a home for older people. Since then I have managed residential and nursing homes for older people living with and without dementia and love the different challenges that every day brings. I believe that supporting our staff is key to enabling our residents to live fulfilled and happy lives, and my passion is creating a home that becomes a community where families and friends are welcomed – a place people call ‘home’, that feels like ‘home’.


My Fondest Memory is of my father (not known for showing his emotions, and now sadly passed) greeting me at age 19 after some months away from home, by picking me up and swinging me around saying how he had missed me. It took me back to being a little girl when he used to swing me and my sisters around and we would wait in turn to be swung again.

I believe that maintaining positive internal and external relationships is key to a productive work environment, and that seeking out community and professional partnerships is essential to inform best practice and keep up to date, share resources and raise the profile of the business.


My Fondest Memory is of spending a week making flowers with paper plates and egg boxes and tissue paper so we could totally fill my grandmother’s (known as Dang) house full of flowers for her return from holiday on Mother’s day. Her face was a picture

I started my professional carer working in the home improvement industry, working originally in admin the moving into a sales role and leading two sales teams. After personal circumstances I decided to change my carer path to which I became passionate about the development of my team to provide a high quality standard of individually tailored care for each person that I co-support.


I worked with people with learning difficulties and challenging behaviours for seven years, four as a senior team leader where I oversaw individual care on a 1:1 basis. I wanted to expand my knowledge on other sectors of care ranging from dementia to nursing. Since arriving at Parkview in July 2019 I have gained knowledge and support to allow me to progress with confidence to my current position.


My Fondest Memory was of my grandad. He was known as ‘Banky’ from where somebody couldn’t pronounce his name properly. We would always visit him on a Saturday at noon and he would always sit in his chair where he would watch grandstand or watching the horse racing on channel 4. He loved sitting in that chair watching sport drinking his tea.

Hi my name is Emily hiam and I have worked at park view for a year and a half, I started working a care setting in 2016 in a small care home.


I then came to park view and felt like I fitted in straight away, I really enjoy being a part of the residents lives! And them a part of mine. I love working with my team and all the staff.


My Fondest Memory I have is of my great grand parents, and going to see them every Sunday playing games and picking apples from the apple tree.

Lisa Jones

Job Title: Catering Manager

Trained at Cheltenham Catering College straight from leaving school in 1982. Worked in a variety of silver service restaurants and Hotels. I then progressed my career to contract catering working in the kitchen sections (Pastry, Mains etc). I was then offered a trainee Catering Manager position with the contract catering company and cooked for the executive dining rooms and workforce, as well as the staff restaurant.


Following this I went to a joint position as a Management couple for Beefeater Restaurants. A career move was made to Unilever foods as a Catering Manager for the next 18 years, catering for executive dining rooms, special functions and over one thousand employees to feed daily. I moved on from this to start my own business as a food hygiene trainer (still am) and although I enjoyed this , I soon missed the Cooking and serving. My passion for cookery helped me make the decision to come and work at Park View when it was offered.


I have worked at Park View for 4 years and have not looked back. I enjoy using my culinary skills to bring exciting new nutritional meals to our Residents.


My Fondest Memory Sitting at my Nan’s kitchen table waiting for her special Toffee Mallow Rice Krispy cakes, made with her own homemade toffee and marshmallows.

Lucy Jukes

Job Title: Wellbeing Team Lead

I’m Lucy Wellbeing lead. For the last six years I have held two Wellbeing roles, previously working in Stroud. I moved into care from customer service roles after supporting a close friend as she died of cancer and I promised her I would get a job where I made a difference. I watched Park View being built and was delighted to get the position here. I absolutely love my job and feel it is a real priveledge to be working here at Parkview. My teacher always told me off for talking in class and said I wouldn’t get a job just by the ability to chat.. how wrong she was. I have a passion for making peoples day and making people smile.


I live locally in Tredworth with my two beautiful girls and my husband.


My Fondest Memory…


I only had my grandmother growing up as child. My mum’s parents had died before I was born and my dad’s dad died when I was too young to know him. I remember going to my grandmas house and sitting and chatting to her for hours. She always listened to me and I made her laugh. She always bought us bottles of coke but could never do the lid up properly I got very used to flat coke !

I left school and went straight into the army for 10 years and travelled the world which really opened my eyes. Since leaving the army I have learnt a number of trades but over the last 20 years have been working on buildings learning each different aspect. I enjoy the variety of working at Parkview because no two days are the same. I have 5 children and 11 grandchildren and lots of grey hair!


Fondest Memory, I remember going to my grandparents in the prefabs making dens with deckchairs in their flowery garden. I became known for eating the flowers.

I have worked in Care for many years working in different care homes and the hospital. I have worked at Park View since 2016 and started as a carer before being promoted up to Senior Carer but then I made the decision to move over into Housekeeping for our Apartments because it gives me a different perspective of caring for the residents and it gives me a great sense of satisfaction to know all the residents on my floor have a beautiful and clean environment to live in.


Fondest memory – my Nan had her snuff in her pocket and always cooked the best roast dinner – she always used to tell me, “Don’t forget to spray your ha’penny”
