  • Pingley Court Care Home, Sheffield
Located in the heart of the popular Woodseats area of Sheffield, Pingley Court is easily accessible from the major motorway networks and is just a 10-minute drive from Sheffield train station.

The home provides full time and short term residential and dementia care (including early onset dementia for people over 50), daycare and has a community room for community events.

Pingley Court is a purpose-built care home that has been newly renovated in early 2019 to a very high standard by its new management team.

Accommodation is spread across two floors with 27 rooms on each, which helps to maintain the home's cosy feel. One floor is dedicated to dementia care while the other is for general residential care. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and include en-suite facilities.

Each floor has it's own seating area and dining area which provide picturesque views of the adjoining woods and stream. Access to the upper floor is made easy by the passenger lift and the corridors are wide and have conveniently located handrails to make moving around comfortable and secure.

The home also has a large community and activities room on the lower ground floor where residents and staff enjoy the various activities, events and entertainment that the home provides. It also has it's own hair and beauty salon.

What a special place!!!
My mum was only there for 2 weeks as she was really ill with Alzheimer’s and has now passed away.
The staff were amazing. So caring , very professional . I can’t thank them enough for how they treated my mum and us as a family. Wouldn’t hesitate to strongly recommend Pingley
Court. Even the owner was so lovely with us all . Thank you to all the team !!!!

My mum recently had to be placed into this care home after my dad had an accident. Pingley Court has recently opened after an extensive refurbishment and is like a 5-star hotel. The rooms - lounges - dining room all look amazing. My mum has her own room which we have personalized with some of her own
possessions. She settled in so easily- all the staff are amazing- nothing is too much for them. So far mum has joined in with most of the activities which are organised on a daily basis. The staff like to keep the residents stimulated. We have noticed that she seems more relaxed and talks more with the other residents and staff. Her appetite has certainly improved with the amazing food she is having. She even has a choice of what to eat - making a decision to my mum is hard, so even this small effort is great to see. For a family to have to put someone they love into a care home is a very hard decision but we all feel that this is the right place for our mum. Amazing place.

Of the various residential homes we visited in the area, this is the only we found that felt truly "home from home", in fact, more like a 4 Star hotel. The friendly and industrious staff along with their award-winning manageress made our choice easy.
It is a family business, that also runs 3 highly
rated homes in Scunthorpe and the director we met couldn't have have been more caring, friendly and understanding of our somewhat complicated financial situation. His knowledge and flexibility made our preferred choice possible.
If you want a beautifully, newly refurbished "home", with no expense spared don't delay; I can't imagine there being many spare rooms available for long.

I have visited Pingley Court on a few occasions to see a relative who is in respite care. On arrival, the various members of staff I have met are very welcoming and assist me in every way to help me to my relative's room, I am disabled and they even accompany me in the lift and make sure I am seated
comfortably in the room.
The place is very homely and welcoming and the staff are so caring and patient I have seen a definite improvement in my relative's condition as she suffers from severe anxiety.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.307)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.307) out of 10 for Pingley Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.766 for Pingley Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (75 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 94 Ratings = 4.766

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.541 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Pingley Court Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 registered maximum number of service users is 10.8. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.8 = 0.741

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
