Care is inadequate and poor. Room is not cleaned for days. Frame and table can't be reached for water and alarm. Toilet is unclean and bin not emptied. Bedding is soiled. Tea is always cold and they don't wake the patient up to drink it hot.

We are sorry you felt the need to publish such a negative review of the home. Black Swan Care Group has a robust and established complaints procedure for dealing with issues such as those you have mentioned. This is posted in numerous locations throughout each of our care homes. We also have an 'open door' policy for residents, their families, and staff to be able to approach not only the home manager, but senior management if there is a problem identified. We keep records of all such complaints. Sadly, in this instance, you have chosen not to raise these issues via any of the appropriate channels so they could be investigated. However, given the tone and damaging nature of your review, we have investigated internally the issues raised relating to care given, cleanliness of the room etc. as we are required to keep these by our regulatory body (the CQC). In every instance, there are clear and accurate records demonstrating that your accusations are unfounded.

Dad has been really happy in the year since he moved here. It's been the best decision we could have made. He has rediscovered his love of gardening which has been fully supported and his tubs, troughs and hanging baskets have been so beautiful. The staff are lovely and care for him really well, and
for us too.

I arrived at Potton View at the end of September 2020 having selected the home from the internet. Due to Covid, we had not been able to visit the home, although my daughter did pay a visit to see the outside and talk to the manager, and I supplemented this with a video tour by the manager.
From the
moment I arrived, I was made very welcome and every assistance was given to me to settle in. At that time, I had to isolate for 14-day, which was trying but made easier by the staff stopping for a word when they passed the door. Then, after 14-days, I was able to meet other residents. I found them to be a mixed, friendly group. We had some very interesting conversations on a number of subjects.
I really feel that I have fallen on my feet here and would have no hesitation in recommending Potton View to others. The care is good, the staff and residents are friendly and cheerful, and the food is good. I have put on a stone since I have been here, which is e subject of much banter between the cooks and myself.

My mum has been in the care home now for just over a year, and due to the friendly, genuinely caring staff, she settled quickly and has positively thrived under their care. All staff treat Mum with care and respect, whilst enabling her to keep her dignity. My mum always comments that the staff are kind
and helpful.
The level of cleanliness is excellent, and the place always smells fresh and clean. The atmosphere of the home is one of cosiness and home from home. The staff are very welcoming to family visitors, and nothing seems to be too much trouble. There is always chatter and laughter coming from some area whilst I am there.
The food is of a high standard and plentiful. My mum always comments positively about what she has eaten and the choices they are given. She has gained much-needed weight, which is absolutely fantastic.
I would like to say how grateful I am to all the staff during this pandemic. Always positive, cheerful with the utmost professionalism in keeping residents safe.

The care and compassion shown not only to my grandmother but to us as a family was fantastic. Every member of staff went out of their way to get to know us and make my nan feel at home.
My nan was cared for with respect and her dignity was always maintained. I thank all the staff at Potton View, they
should be very proud of how they run the home, I know I am.

Potton View care home has provided a safe and calm residence for both my mother and father in law. We have been made to feel welcome by the friendly and considerate staff. The rooms are warm, spacious and well maintained with gardens views to enjoy.
We even enjoyed the Christmas party and buffet.

My mother originally went into the care home for respite having been discharged from hospital. The manager assessed her whilst in hospital and explained how the home was run. I have been immensely impressed. The staff are very friendly, approachable they go out of their way to help residents and families.
They have an amazing rapport with the residents and you can clearly see how happy this makes end of life care - happy and comfortable. They have been remarkably patient with my mother, who can be difficult at times. The home is very clean, comfortable and furnished in such a way that it is more like their own home. My mother has a bright spacious room with a lovely view onto the front garden and a bird table has been positioned so that she can watch birds feed. She has an en-suite wet room which is extremely spacious. I don’t think we would find a better home or better care, my thanks go to management and all staff for giving me ‘peace of mind’.

The home and its staff are very helpful and caring. My grandad is happy and has settled into his new home with the help of the staff and other residents which is comforting for all the family.

Staff and management of this home are very friendly and approachable, they go out of their way to be very helpful towards the residents and families. Visiting the home where my mother is residing is very enjoyable. My mother's room is very clean and comfortable. I cannot praise all the staff enough
for all their hard work. The food is lovely, my mother really enjoys the choices she is offered. The gardens are lovely and my mother as a room with a lovely view into the garden. Very pleased with everything.

Our mum has been in the care of Potton View since August 2019 and we are all extremely happy she is there and being so well looked after. Mum herself always tells people the staff are so kind and really can't do enough for her.
It was not easy to acknowledge we had reached the time when we had to
take the care route, but it was definitely the right decision. We all have nothing but praise for the manager and all the staff, who are very caring and supportive of her individual disabilities and needs. Her accommodation and the home facilities are excellent, not to mention the lovely homemade food, which has helped mum to regain the weight she lost prior to her arrival at Potton View.


We wanted our mum to be cared for, to feel secure and to be happy and we are delighted to say she has all of those things in abundance.

I have recently had the task of finding a care home for my 96-year-old mum. I eventually chose Potton View as when we approached them, they couldn't have been more helpful and caring, as if mum really mattered. Mum has been there a few weeks now and I can't praise them enough. The staff are so caring
to the residents and make us welcome as well. The rooms are lovely and the food is first class as well. I can't thank them enough for caring so lovely for her.

Potton View is a lovely care home. My father is very happy here and is enjoying being looked after by the friendly and caring staff.
He has a lovely spacious room which is nicely furnished, including an en-suite shower room, all of which are kept very clean as is the whole home. He couldn’t be happier.

When I arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. My room was lovely and the bathroom was bigger than my kitchen at home.
The staff are very pleasant and friendly.
The food was tailored to my particular needs with a daily visit from the chef and my family were also welcomed to come in whenever
they wished and the residents also welcomed me at mealtimes.

My father was recently in Potton View for respite care and I have to say that from the moment I walked through the door to have a look around prior to my father's arrival, I was really impressed, with the appearance of the home, it was spotlessly clean, but also very warm and welcoming. Every staff
member I came into contact with was friendly and made me feel at ease, even offering me a cup of tea or coffee while I waited to speak to the home's manager. The manager was so helpful and friendly, and was very professional, offering us continued support before, during and even after my father was resident there. I would recommend anyone who needs care for a loved one to have a look around and meet with the lovely staff and manager at Potton View Care Home.

Mum spent five weeks in Potton View following a hospital stay. The manager visited her in hospital before the transfer to Potton View. He was very professional, also very kind. He took time to explain and listen.
At Potton View, Mum received excellent care. Throughout her stay she was treated with
care, encouragement, respect and dignity by all staff.
Staff were quick to respond to any medical needs, contacting GPs or nurses as appropriate. I always felt Mum was safe and received genuine care which was most comforting for me and my family.
The homemade food is first class and varied. Visitors are welcome to have a meal with their relative.
Family and friends are welcomed and as next of kin, I always had access to staff if I had any questions.
I would highly recommend this modern, clean and family-friendly home to anyone who is looking for a care home.
Mum is now back home and continuing to improve and speaks of how grateful she is of the wonderful care she received whilst at Potton View.

Potton View is a brilliant care home. My great aunt is so much happier now she is there and being looked after by the friendly and caring staff, they can’t do enough for her and the manager goes in every day to make sure she is happy.
She enjoys the food and her room is so nice with lovely furniture
and a door out to the lovely courtyard.
She has a lovely shower room and it is all kept very clean and so is the care home. She couldn’t be happier and so glad we picked Potton View.
