At the same time I'm really pleased that our Care Team have been able to provide both you and her with such good care and support since. It's lovely to read that our team at Primrose has has been 'absolutely brilliant' and that our Care Home Manager made you feel really welcome from the start. We are very fortunate to have an exceptional manager at Primrose House, leading and supporting an exceptional team who in turn support her. It's really nice to read that your mum is generally happy and content. That our care team have been excellent, go the extra mile and are very nice and friendly. Yes, Primrose House and it's sister home Bluebell House next door are now operating at maximum or close to maximum capacity - a success driven primarily by the excellent care that the manager and her teams provide. Rest assured that our staffing levels are flexed according to occupancy rates and dependency / care needs of residents. I note the three stars for activities - we have an extensive activities provision at Primrose House - if you feel your mum is perhaps missing out due to developing eyesight and or dementia issues please do discuss with the manager so we can seek to discuss with her / you and address as needed.

North Devon. It's really lovely to read how well your mum has settled in, how friendly the care team are, how much your mum enjoys joining in with activities, and how lovely her room is. I note the comment with regards to staffing. We have several contracts in place with care agencies whom we can call to arrange cover, that being said, they can't always cover at short notice. We ask that our care team members call in and give us as much notice as possible before the start of their shift if they are not going to be able to work their shift (and we take action where people do not do this). It's really important to us (and everybody) that all of our shifts are run with the correct amount of carers on duty. Thank you again for this really kind feedback. Nathan.

North Devon. It's really lovely to read how well your dad was cared for and how much his condition improved whilst he was living at Primrose House. We hope is continues to do well. We note what you say about agency staff - we have experienced some challenges with recruitment in North Devon but are making really good progress on that front - we do have agency contracts in place as back up and, as you note, we try to always use the same agency team members where possible. We are really fortunate with the team we have at Primrose House, not least in that they all embrace the importance of activities, both bespoke and communal (in fact, it's clear they all really enjoy them themselves). Thank you for noting the outdoor space, a member if staff has been doing an amazing job on this! Thank you again.

It's lovely to read that your mum has been at the home for 5 years and has been extremely well looked after. We hear what you say with regard to staff turnover, and can only admit that since building and opening Primrose House back in 2016 staffing and recruitment have been a real challenge. The home was getting well established and 'on its feet' then along came Covid etc. I'm pleased to say that throughout we have had a dedicated core team who have been supported with agency carers when needed. We have been very careful to ensure that we have the same few agency carers whenever needed and, to all intents and purposes, they would have appeared to be members of the team. We have recently seen a vast improvement in the numbers and quality of new applicants for carers and senior carer roles at Primrose House.

It's really lovely to read that everyone at Primrose House are very helpful and kind and that food has improved. I can't agree with the comment regarding activities - we have regular activities and a very full schedule - as can be seen in the regular newsletters that the team at Primrose House create. The Covid period has meant that we have had fewer outside entertainers coming in - but with Covid restrictions lifting and recent spring boosters we are more able to go back to these as well. Activities are provided by all team members - we have an activity co-ordinator starting soon - who will further enhance the activity provision, of course.
