From the first contact with Ribble Court to date I can only complement the manager and the team in caring for my husband. There is nothing that is too much trouble. I always receive a warm welcome. I know that he is safe and receives the care that is tailored to him. It is always nice to see management
around who are approachable. The activities are also personalized accordingly. Cleanliness is top-notch, all dietary requirements are made for such a fussy eater. In all, I would thoroughly recommend it.

Staff very friendly and care for my relative's needs. My relative responds well to them, which makes me feel that they are happy with them, as they are within their home setting.

Mum had short stays at two other care homes where she had five unwitnessed falls and was hospitalised for four. The final fall caused us to look for another home and we found Ribble Court. The manager contacted the hospital to ensure mum wasn’t discharged until she could be accepted into the home at
short notice, for which we will be forever grateful.
It is a lovely clean and well-equipped home run by staff that are marvellous. Mum had deteriorated significantly over the prior three months of hospital and care homestays and had lost 10Kg in weight. After just two weeks in Ribble Court she gained nearly 2Kg through eating delicious meals prepared on site and by appropriate continence management. The staff are proactive in providing care and keep me informed of any issues with mum’s health. Despite being unsteady on her feet, she has had no falls in over four months and is thriving. It was heart-warming when she told me that the people are so nice and that now she wants to stay there.

My father has been at Ribble Court for five months now and from my first initial visit I have nothing but praise for the staff, the care is excellent, the building is brand new and the facilities are 5 star. My father settled as soon as he moved in and this is due to the lovely welcoming attitude the
staff have towards him, they treat him as an individual and are attentive to his needs and requests. They are also very good at liaising with me regarding all issues of his health and there is always someone available to speak to when I go to visit. My first instinct when I went to look round with a view to my father becoming a resident at Ribble Court was ‘ this is the place I want for him to be cared for and be happy ‘ and it is certainly ticking all the boxes.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.429)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.429) out of 10 for Ribble Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.874 for Ribble Court is calculated as follows: ( (84 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 95 Ratings = 4.874

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.555 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ribble Court is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 53 registered maximum number of service users is 10.6. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.6 = 0.755

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
