Ridgewood Court is a modern home where the dedicated team provides high-quality residential, dementia care and respite care breaks.

With beautifully decorated, spacious bedrooms and walk-in wet rooms, there are so many fabulous spaces for the residents to enjoy.

But it’s the team which makes this home, run by not-for-profit provider Sanctuary Care, really special. They are passionate about Sanctuary Care’s vision of Enriching Lives, based on the six senses people need to feel happy and fulfilled – a sense of security, belonging, continuity, purpose, achievement and significance.

Residents are actively involved in how the home is run, including deciding what fruit and vegetables to plant in their miniature allotment plot in the garden. They love to grow their own and pick the produce, which the chef uses in the kitchen. Some of the residents help to look after the home’s chickens, the eggs again being used in the kitchen.

The home has its own Resident Ambassadors, who do everything from interviewing potential staff to providing feedback on everything from the activities to the menu.

Animals are a special part of the home. As well as chickens, there is an aviary in the garden, built especially for one of the residents, who didn’t want to leave her birds behind when she moved in. There are also guinea pigs and regular visitor, dog Eddie.

Ridgewood Court is a stunning modern home, with a cinema room, with a popcorn machine and even a sweet trolley. They also enjoy lots of other activities, from gentle exercise sessions and music, to cheese and wine evenings. There is also a hair and beauty salon, a vintage tea room, a garden room and beautifully furnished lounge and dining rooms, where residents enjoy delicious home-cooking.

The gardens, which also have raised planters, are surrounded by wheelchair-friendly pathways.

My uncle seemed very happy with all the facilities and staff. He was full of praise.
I thought it had a lovely atmosphere and the staff had a good rapport with the residents.

Even before it opened in Spring 2018, the location, design and facilities made me think it could be ideal for a friend and contacted her son to make further enquiries. We were very impressed on our visit during their 'open day'. The resident has settled in well and is really content. Rooms, facilities,
meals, cleanliness are very high standards, and more importantly, the management and staff show great dignity and respect to all the residents. I rate 'Ridgewood Court' 5 stars.

I cannot express highly enough how wonderful this place is! Its facilities match those of a 5-star hotel with beautiful rooms and superb food served in a lovely dining room with linen tablecloths and napkins, china and glassware. The staff have been handpicked for their caring attitude and this is obvious
to everyone who visits. I cannot suggest a single thing which would improve things - everything is spot on and I feel so very fortunate to have my much -loved mother in the best possible environment she could be in. Thank you.

Anna loves Ridgewood Court, as does her gorgeous Border Collie Eddie, who comes to work with her every Thursday, much to the joy of the residents who adore spending time with him.


Being in reception is the main focal point of the home, therefore I see a lot of people coming and going throughout the day. Residents and their families are a big part of why I still enjoy doing what I do.


I love being able to help everyone, from my fellow colleagues in-house, to being able to help colleagues within Sanctuary Care via the phone or email.
