Savernake View Care Home is a purpose-built home that opened in August 2016. Overlooking the Savernake Forest, Savernake View offers 24 hour residential, respite, dementia and nursing care for individuals living in Wiltshire. The highly-skilled team at Savernake View provide professional and compassionate care that is focused on the individual needs of every resident.

Residents at Savernake View benefit from access to a number of communal living areas including dining and living rooms, a café, a cinema, a hairdressing and nail salon, a dedicated activities and wellbeing room and a private dining room for celebrating special occasions. Savernake View also has a secure landscaped garden perfect for a morning stroll, some exercise or simply a cup of tea with a view! My mother received fabulous nursing and care at Savernake View. Her room was lovely, the communal areas were of the highest quality and the staff (care staff, admin and nursing) were exceptional. After years of live-in care at home, it was a big change, but definitely a change for the better. Whilst
Savernake View is a higher cost than some other care homes, the difference is definitely worth it. Mum's needs were always met, and the family felt Mum was exceptionally well cared for.

All of the staff are caring and communicative with both me and my mum.
They are patient and flexible to my mother's needs and the home as a whole has accommodated my mum's needs and financial situation to allow her to continue to stay in her new home.

Residents well cared for! All seem very happy. Activities need looking at although it's hard to keep them happy at the same time. Laundry improved and food wonderful. Gardens well maintained. Staff very friendly and compassionate.

To all the Team at Savernake View, thank you for your continued care of mum. It is a huge reassurance to know that she is being looked after and is safe. The understanding of mum's needs and then tailoring the care to those needs means that mum is engaged, included, challenged and ultimately happy.
The variety of entertainment/activities provided including external trips really helps with this. Mum enjoys the company of the other residents and there are plenty of opportunities to spend time with them, but also has the option of her own space in her lovely room with a view over the beautiful gardens. Whenever I visit, I can always find a quiet place to sit and chat with mum and enjoy a coffee and a slice (or two) of homemade cake. The whole experience is very good including the friendly and interested staff. Thank you again for all you do.

I entered the care home to get treatment following a brief hospital stay for a major neck injury. I received all the necessary medical care, including the daily fitting of the neck brace. In addition, the general welcome and attention was exemplary.

I would like to thank the staff at Savernake View for the care they gave my Mother during her six months with you. Mum arrived to a lovely welcome, a room with a view, and flowers from the staff to greet her.
During her time she enjoyed her room and facilities, the well-kept garden and a great variety
of lovely home-cooked meals.
After some weeks I realised how she was getting to know the staff and they were getting to know her, this was lovely and gave me reassurance she wasn't lonely and had opportunities for friendships.
Towards the end of Mum's time with you the staff couldn't have been more supportive and open to our needs as a family, I was allowed open visiting and felt I was being looked after too! Mum said she felt very lucky to be with you and knew 'she was in the right place'. Thank you to you all.

I chose this home for my husband because of good reviews. I visited him every day for 6 months. The care was not good. It was comfortable and there were individual kindnesses by individual members of the staff. The home has separate areas for dementia, nursing and residential residents but these are
not utilised well. Staff are not allocated to specific areas so they get to know a small group of residents but are rotated across the home with 60-plus residents. There is no continuity of care. Care plans are written but not read, and information is given but not shared. Only a few of the dozens of different carers made any real attempt to get to know him. On occasions, he was left all day without his teeth in or his glasses on. His position was not changed as frequently as needed and he died with bed sores. The ethos of this home is about presentation, not care. If your relative has high dependency needs I would not recommend this home.

My wife suffers from dementia and a lack of mobility and has been a resident of Savernake View, Marlborough for the past six months. To date, I have no reason to query anything about her overall well-being. I must thank everyone involved, management and staff, for the care and attention that is always
offered. As I have found on a couple of occasions, I will be notified immediately of any important concerns/updates regarding her day-to-day health. With all this in mind, I am more than happy to award an excellent rating.
As a result of my present visits, I must admit I have a somewhat limited knowledge of all the facilities and activities that are offered. I am sure I will discover a lot more on an ongoing basis.
I would particularly like to thank management and staff for the respect, kindness and friendship they always offer me. Upon leaving the home, I know for certain that I leave my wife in everybody's very capable hands.

My father visited Savernake Care Home for two weeks as a respite package. The whole process was amazing, from booking, viewing, administration and attending. All of the team were incredible, I felt they really ‘loved’ my father and made him so welcome. The rooms were great, the food and activities all
superb. The care home manager was particularly excellent in settling Dad in and communicating with me. The care and fun my dad received exceeded all of my expectations. A fantastic caring team. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My wife has stayed for two weeks on two occasions. After each one she has left in tears, not on account of mistreatment (I hasten to add) but because she enjoyed it so much that she wanted to stay. Several features contributed to her enjoyment. The buildings are modern and nicely equipped. The arrangements
for visiting are welcoming and relaxed. The food and beverages are pleasant and well presented. But most of all, the staff are a delight, keen to please, and watchful. I think my wife is looking forward to her next visit more than she looked forward to coming home. Top marks all round.

Excellent should be the lowest score for these staff who are all amazing, kind, caring and professional and going the extra thousand miles is the norm. While clean and well-kept, the rooms are impractical for such things as storing incontinence pads but are otherwise excellent. The overall layout shows
residents the dignity of hosting visitors which is amazing. The activities are normally excellent and inspiring but there have been staffing issues, despite this, they have been interesting and humorous.

My mother had dementia that deteriorated over the course of her stay at Savernake view, and unfortunately, it was during Covid. The staff are amazing, so caring and kind. Residents were treated with the utmost respect. My mother passed in November, and although end-of-life care for a dementia patient
is not what it should be (no fault of the staff), she was looked after with kindness right to the end. I would highly recommend this home. The manager is making fantastic changes, and she is also kind and caring.

My aunt was a resident at Savernake View Care Home for a few days over six years until she died just before Christmas. She was a very challenging woman to care for, with extremely difficult eating issues and progressive blindness. Despite her often expressed lack of appreciation, the management, carers,
nursing and catering staff never gave up on giving he the highest standards of care and compassion in striving to make her life as comfortable as possible.

Rachael Khan-Lowe

Job Title: Home Manager

Hello, my name is Rachael Khan-Lowe, and I am the Home Manager here at Savernake View.


I have worked in care since 2015 after qualifying as a general nurse from Sheffield Hallam University. Since qualifying as a nurse, I have worked in various settings, including nursing homes, acute settings, primary care and within charities. I have recently completed a master’s degree in integrated health and social care to develop my leadership and management skills, which are essential parts of running a successful care home.


When I am not spending time with our residents and team, you will find me with my husband travelling around in our campervan exploring the local area. I was brought up in Yorkshire but lived in Nottingham until recently, and we are enjoying living in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside.

Hello, my name is Robyn, and I am the Client Services Manager here at Savernake View.


I have been working in the care sector since October 2021. I really enjoy working here in Marlborough, and our residents and team members here at Savernake View are all incredibly friendly, welcoming and ready for a good laugh! In addition to this, we are really lucky to be here in Marlborough surrounded by a lovely local community.


Finding the right environment for yourself or a loved one’s future care can be a difficult and daunting choice, so it is my role to provide guidance and support throughout the process to ensure that you are fully informed ahead of any decision you may make.
