In a lovely leafy location with extensive landscaped gardens, Ascot offers something for everyone. With private en-suite accommodation coming in various sizes and styles, all complemented by either Assisted Residential Living, Respite, Dementia and Nursing Care.

Ascot is a very comfortable homely environment offering 96 studios or one-bedroom apartment with excellent dining options for residents. Ascot Grange also has a separate industry leading dementia suite in keeping with Stirling University's Gold Framework for those living with Dementia.

Ascot happily accommodates couples and companions who wish to remain together as they continue their care journey and make new memories together.

The home features two dining rooms and a further private dining room for special occasions. In addition, there is a cinema, hair salon, spa and treatment room as well as an activity and entertainment lounge.

The beautiful, landscaped gardens, which are easily accessible are tended by the award-winning landscape gardener and his team weekly and offer many different areas to sit out and enjoy the weather whilst the hospitality team are on hand to ensure your ongoing comfort and enjoyment.

Lovely care home. Staff all know my parents and take time to interact with them. Their dignity and autonomy are always respected and there is a lovely, friendly caring atmosphere. The facilities are excellent.

Mum and previously dad have received excellent care whilst they have been at Ascot Grange. Although the permanent staff have to cope with being short-staffed they manage brilliantly and manage to remain cheerful especially with the residents. The staff has been very supportive of me during difficult
times and have helped mum after the loss of my dad and kept us informed of how she was coping.

The overall standard is good/excellent. My husband requires a great deal of care and this can be demanding. There are not enough carers at weekends but the care they give is good and they are committed. Meals vary in quality and temperature. The residents who are mainly room bound should be given fresh
fruit which should be available at all times. Proper fluid charts should be available where appropriate.

All the staff are excellent and very caring, but there is not enough of them.
Good staff are continually leaving suggesting that their pay and conditions are not good.
The home is in a lovely setting but not easy to get to except by car, maybe another factor discouraging new carers etc.
This home
could be brilliant with sufficient staff. Mangement need to find ways to make staff want to stay.

In addition, we held a recruitment Open Day on the 15th Oct which was a huge success. Although there are no bus links, staff have a dedicated parking area and we offer incentives for car sharing.

We have been very pleased with Ascot Grange overall. The residential staff are exemplary, although we feel that there are not enough! Too many agency carers brought in to offset the shortage.

A careworker noticed my mother-in-law was finding it difficult to put on her makeup whilst standing in the bathroom. After asking her, she rearranged a mirror on a table in her living room so my mother-in-law could sit and spend time on her makeup.

My 95-year-old mother fell and broke her thigh bone and after 2 weeks in hospital, they insisted on discharging her, even though she couldn't stand.
She came to Ascot Grange and received wonderful care. She had enriched food and milkshakes to build up her strength, but the staff are the home's greatest
asset.
They are loving, caring, patient and always cheerful and my mother was always treated with dignity and respect.
They are the best of the best.

My parents have been at Signature at Ascot Grange since August '17. The care and attention of all staff have been excellent. They are now both in the dementia unit where they are looked after with patients and dignity. The staff are approachable and friendly. They keep us well informed. The activities
team are especially dedicated and include families as well.

Just to say a big thank you to everyone at Ascot Grange for the wonderful two weeks of respite care.
The reception staff are so kind and helpful. The carers always available and happy to help. A big thank you to all the catering staff (lovely food) and to the nurses, just amazing, 100%. Also to housekeeping
and the ladies who did the laundry.

I knew a chap in my street for 4 years and due to illness was not managing to look after himself or his home. I asked him if I could help find a care home as my friend was simply not going to survive at home, I was having to feed and bath him as he could just not manage. Social services were just not
moving fast enough and were more worried about filling in forms than picking up a sponge and cleaning him. His clothes were 4 sizes too big and tripping him up as he walked. One night I had the police and ambulance services at his home after his trousers tripped him. Basically nobody was helping him.
All it took was one call to Ascot Grange and the ball was rolling. It took, I think, 6 days and he was in the home and looked after to the highest standard. Amazing food. Nursing needs met and friendship.
Ted passed away just a few months later. But the few months he had were to him, and me, very special.
Ascot Grange. thank you so, so, so much.

My wife had a stroke April 2018 and had a setback in June. After more time in hospital, it was said she was ready for discharge but needed care arrangements at home. This would not only have meant changes to make it safer but we would have been reliant on visiting Carers plus I'd be responsible for
all daily household duties. I felt this would put too much pressure on our relationship at a time we needed to concentrate on our remaining time together.


Living locally, I knew of Ascot Grange and called for information. From the first phone call, they made it clear they were willing to help in any way possible. Ultimately, I chose to move into a 1-bed apartment here with my wife. Everything is taken care of and I have nothing to do. All of my time is devoted to my wife and in particular, she loves it and feels very safe. It is like living in a 5-star hotel; nothing is too much trouble. The facilities are brilliant as are the staff. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

My mother has previously rejected the idea of moving into a retirement/care living. However, she is obviously very comfortable and at home in Ascot Grange. Her apartment has a feel very much like her previous house. She has not had any complaints. The staff have all been so supportive and caring not
only to my mother but to myself and family. I live in Australia and my visit over the last week has been very enjoyable. This is set up for visitors just as much as for residents and I'm very grateful.

My mother became a respite resident in late 2017 following a fall and has received excellent care from Ascot Grange. Since then she has become a permanent resident and our family are pleased with the care she is still receiving. The nurses, carers and all other staff are professional, friendly and
caring and we have taken great comfort in my Mother being in Ascot Grange. The staff are attentive and always look ahead on things they could be doing for the care of their residents.


The room she is in is comfortable, light and airy and the whole building is one of cleanliness and calm, but also homely. It is beautifully finished from decoration to furniture, amenities and layout and the garden is very pleasant.


As a healthcare professional myself, I cannot see anything I could do better for my Mother from Ascot Grange and I am so pleased my Mother is living there. Other relatives of residents we see also speak highly of Ascot Grange.

Ascot Grange is a lovely friendly place where you feel very safe. The staff are fair and kind to your every need. The food is delicious. You can have more or different and if you want, in your own room. So many lovely people here. I have made friends. We laugh and go to the cinema, dancing, playing
cards and scrabble. A lot of entertainment for us. Lots of day trips shopping. Fish and chips is great.

Having to put a valued relative into care can be a really difficult decision, especially if the person does not want to go into care.
I cannot thank the staff, carers, management and nurses for the total support, help and attention to small details that made this process easier.
Since the first day,
the standard of care has been of the exemplary, but also the support that is given to the relatives, we are always made to feel welcome. After two weeks, I feel part of an extended family, that genuinely cares, from the offer of a bowl of soup or a cup of tea, especially when I am having to deal with difficult situations around end of life.
I really like the concept of Ascot Grange, as soon as you walk in you are greeted by a lovely receptionist , who always seems to know where your relative is in the building, to the lovely violet cafe, the cinema and more importantly the restaurant and food, the quality of the food and variety, rivalling any in the local area.

Mark Deadman

Thank you for taking the time to read our bios. We love to see prospective customers, families and friends, new members of staff and the local community taking an interest in our community.


I am the General Manager for Ascot Grange. My role is to ensure that we deliver what we say we do. I am responsible for overall service delivery to our customers and community, inspiring and leading the onsite team and ensuring high standards of governance and compliance are achieved.


Over the last 20 years, I have had the privilege of serving the healthcare sector by managing and leading frontline care services for our elderly population. I have come into contact with many individuals who have willingly shared their life experiences and wisdom. This has reinforced my sense of duty and heightened my level of respect for our elders.


Over that time, I have been proud to lead and work alongside some amazing team members who have had a genuine passion for care and a true desire to serve. I have learned a great deal from these colleagues along my career journey.


I am very much a people person. I truly believe in the values of responsibility, integrity, kindness, compassion and doing what I can for others. The care sector has afforded me the opportunity to ‘live’ these values in the workplace, for which I am truly grateful.


I was immediately drawn to Ascot Grange because of the culture and principles the organisation aspires to. After visiting the home and meeting some of the residents and staff, I knew that this was where I wanted to work. I subsequently joined the Ascot Grange team in January 2022. I am now passionately working with the community and team here to take the home’s services forward. The team and I are fully committed to embedding the core principles of empathy, care, compassion and integrity into the Ascot Grange community.

I am delighted to join the team at Ascot Grange as the Dementia Care Manager working with the Devenish Community and other residents on the dementia pathway. I strongly believe that all residents should be supported in living their life to the full and ensuring all are supported as an individual.


I have spent my career working in care with companies including Somerset Care and more latterly McCarty and Stone as an Area Manager.


When not at work I love to travel. I am from a large family and am lucky to have them close by so we are all able to spend lots of time together.

I started my career in care 25 years ago when I worked as a care assistant in a nursing home. This is where I found my love of caring for our older generation and I was inspired to become a nurse. I have been qualified for 14 years now working in various roles in the NHS, mainly in day surgery and surgical wards; in care homes as a senior nurse and deputy manager.


I began my journey with Ascot Grange as Nurse Care Manager in April 2022. It is a great privilege to be given the opportunity to work with such a wonderful team. It is my passion to make sure all residents at Ascot Grange have the best quality of care.
