The Callywhite Care Home is a purpose built, state-of-the-art home situated in a secluded location at the edge of Dronfield village centre, overlooking Cliffe Park.

The care home provides residential care for older people and those living with dementia.

Living spaces have been designed to a high specification to ensure that staff can deliver a personalised care service to residents in a comfortable and inspiring environment.

The Callywhite care home is presented over three floors, incorporating large, en-suite bedrooms. It also has three large lounges, three dining rooms, a library, music room and an exclusive hair salon.

There is also a large secure balcony on the first floor, which looks out onto a private outdoor courtyard with a sensory garden.

My mum was a resident at The Callywhite for a number of years before passing away recently. She was very happy living at Callywhite. The staff were very caring and supportive and did their utmost to make it a home from home. In her final days, their respect and care were second to none.

I have been impressed by the standard of care at The Callywhite Care Home. Nothing seems too much trouble with patience and tenderness with all residents. I feel relaxed and confident that my father is being genuinely cared for by people who really care. It's not first a job, so when I leave to go back
home, I have no worries which means a lot.
I am also impressed by their cleanliness and design of a circular corridor so that whichever way you go, you will come back to the main hub.

Facilities second to none, more like four/five-star hotel. Mum has been a resident for nearly three years and I have nothing but praise for staff and management, they all work extremely hard and are always pleasant and approachable in sometimes difficult circumstances. Food always looks appetising and
well cooked. The home is always spotless and accidents are always dealt with quickly.

Mum has been a resident at The Callywhite since it opened four years ago. The care she has received has been wonderful. The staff are friendly and supportive of her needs. There are frequent activities organised and I feel confident mum is in a happy and safe environment which is well managed, clean
and fresh smelling. Mum enjoys her meals and relatives are informed of activities in advance to be involved with loved ones as much as possible.

The resident is well cared for. Her room is always clean and fresh - no smell of urine. Staff are always ready to answer questions relating to residents condition. The whole care home is clean and the furniture etc new and well presented. No smell of food. There seems to be a reasonable choice of food,
and activities for those who can take part in. Excellent bathroom facilities. Staff are respectful towards residents and always cheerful.

The level of care extended to my mother, who suffered from dementia, has been outstanding. She arrived at The Callywhite after an initial short period at another home where she was suffering terrible weight loss due to poor care. She is back to a healthy weight. This is due solely to the efforts, compassion
and high standards that are evident with the staff. I would not hesitate to recommend The Callywhite and indeed I have.

Staff deal with any concerns with care straight away. Sometimes there need to be more carers on the floor especially when a resident requires 2 person handling.
More age-related activities for the residents and more papers etc could be left around for residents.
Food at tea time is sometimes light
with the pudding offered as comes ready done in a tub.

Excellent standard of care. Staff are always on hand welcoming to visitors and interacting directly with residents. Residents are treated with compassion, care and dignity and with respect to their individual needs.
The layout of the Callywhite allows residents a level of freedom to walk around. Activities
appear to be appropriate to residents' requirements. Rooms are comfortable; the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. Staff communication is good.

Have visited on numerous occasions and always find the staff & management professional, courteous, knowledgeable, & friendly.

Mum moved into this care home 4 months ago after some hospital admissions and distressing falls at home. At 96 she is experiencing some memory problems and general frailty. From day one the staff and facilities at Callywhite have been brilliant. From the domestics to the managers and everyone in between
they could not have been more caring and welcoming. Her room is perfect - modern, comfortable and well furnished and she is treated with good humour and dignity at all times. She doesn't choose to join in the activities, preferring to remain in her room except having her hair done each week by the lovely visiting hairdresser. We are so grateful to all at Callywhite.

My sister and I selected The Callywhite for our 95-year-old mother after 2 falls and hospital admissions when she could no longer live "supported" at her own home. After reviewing a number of care homes, The Callywight was an easy unanimous choice. A modern building with delightful well-proportioned
rooms, roomy ensuites, wide access corridors and pleasant and interesting views from bedrooms and accessible communal balcony. The home is well decorated, carpeted and maintained and with comfortable furniture. The management were helpful and caring and are accessible to families, dealing quickly and efficiently with matters. Although mother chooses not to participate, which she is free to do, the staff work hard to provide activities for residents on a regular basis. Food is attractive and plentiful and can be taken communally or privately.

The Callywhite has been my Mothers home for the last 12 months of her life until her passing on the 11th of March. I would like to say that the facilities in the Callywhite are second to none when compared to other homes in the area but the real reason for writing this review is to thank the staff (across
all shifts) who through their professionalism and caring attitude transform the place into a true home for the residents.


I cannot thank the staff enough for the way my mum was cared for especially as her needs increased.

I think it's a lovely place, very clean and airy. Very pleasant and I'm pleased with it. I like the walkways and my husband enjoys walking through them.
Cheerful and the staff are lovely and helpful.
I'm not used to going around homes, but this is superb and I don't normally like care homes.

My mother lived at the care home from September 2015 until her death in March 2017. It was truly her home; she was welcomed and looked after in a setting that had the amenities of a good hotel with the addition of 24-hour care at the touch of a button. French windows from her room gave access to a lovely
secure garden where she could sit or walk when she wished. Excellent food with plenty of variety could be enjoyed in her room or with other residents in the dining room. Entertainment was arranged periodically, All-around excellent care.
