Situated on the outskirts of historic Cambridge, The Cambridgeshire Care Home is an attractive modern, purpose-built care home, providing residential, nursing, dementia and respite care for up to 72 elderly people. Close to local transport and amenities, they are just four miles away from Cambridge.

The Cambridgeshire Care Home is situated within attractive landscaped gardens, built with a large glass frontage which provides fantastic views of the gardens. As well as a comprehensive activities programme, offering a variety of meaningful activities, residents at The Cambridgeshire Care Home have a cinema which shows Residents favourite films, a nail salon, hairdressing salon, visiting Chiropody service, an Exercise Therapist and private dining facilities along with a bistro near the reception area offering coffees, teas, pastries and fresh fruit, lunch and afternoon tea (must be booked in advance).

The Cambridgeshire Care Home also offers residents a choice of lounges where they can chat, relax and take in the beautiful landscaped gardens, as well as enjoy an aperitif before dining whilst choosing from the fine dining menus.

My mum has been at CCH for 8 months now. She has benefitted hugely from all the care, support and love shown daily by the dedicated staff.
She has recently had a big birthday party and the hospitality team, activities team and the whole of CCH put so much effort into making it a lovely memorable occasion.
It
is very reassuring to me to know that they take such care and attention. A really great team of people.

I found everything really excellent in the care home. Couldn't find anything I didn't like. Everything was spot on. I was just in for two weeks respite care from having a hip replacement. The nursing care, the catering, the activities were all brilliant. The food also was truly excellent. Management
was excellent too.

Visiting the home on 2 occasions (2023 and 2024) was a very pleasant experience from entrance to departure. The residents were always treated with respect and seemed very clean and happy. The facilities are amazing and visitors and residents are treated like friends. The food is very good and I was
able to share a lovely meal in the bistro.
One very big plus is the lack of smell on the premises. Thank you all.

I was so impressed by the excellence of the staff, especially the carers. Nothing was too much trouble. The management is to be congratulated on the smooth running of the facility and for all the effort that has gone into making it such a friendly and responsive experience. My room was large and well
furnished as was the en-suite. It took me some time to get used to the narrow single bed but I didn't fall out of it once. I attended a quiz event which was well run and everyone seemed to enjoy the interaction.
I didn't try anything else as it did not appeal but I was only there for a two-week respite stay and I was not looking to be entertained. The food served in the dining area should have been more attractive but the quality control seemed to be missing on some days. This could easily be resolved.
For its primary function, this is an excellent care home and the residents are so well looked after. Keep up the good work.

My mother arrived at the care home already frail. Her care was complex and she lived at the home happy and without complaint which is a miracle. Her death was managed pain-free and with dignity. This care home has high staff with excellent training.

We held a family birthday party at The Cambridgeshire Care Home to enable my husband to take part. The care home was instrumental in ensuring the celebration was a success. They arranged a wonderful buffet and all staff helped to ensure we had everything we needed to enjoy a lovely family event. Their

From the moment we booked an appointment to view The Cambridgeshire Care Home, the subsequent visits and arrangements to settle my father into his new home, we knew we had made the right decision.
The individual units are beautifully furnished. Residents have the freedom to spend time in communal
or quiet lounges or their own room if they prefer some quiet time. Family are welcome to spend time in the lounge, bedroom or the bistro - a wonderful quiet space to enjoy lunch or just a coffee, with the feel that you are far away from a care home.
Staff are wonderful and caring to all residents and visitors. They make everyone feel special and important and nothing seems to be too much trouble. The activity team encourage the residents to participate in a number of varied social events which always seem popular.
Even though Dad has only been a resident for just over three weeks, reaching a significant birthday recently was celebrated in style which we will be forever grateful for.

My mother has been a resident at The Cambridgeshire Care Home for a year and has settled well. The care she has received has been outstanding and all the staff are fantastic - including nursing, care, hospitality, maintenance and customer relations. As a close family who do not live in Cambridge, we
regularly use the bistro for lunch with Mum and have used the private dining room for special meals - these facilities are brilliant and do not exist in all care homes. Communications with the home are excellent - I can speak to the senior nursing staff when I need to and they will call me if they have any concerns about Mum's condition. The home also removes all the stress of hospital appointments by arranging a taxi and carer to accompany Mum. The service with the local GP practice is an integrated and seamless service. As a family, we are so pleased that we chose The Cambridgeshire Care Home.

My dear friend has a beautiful quiet room overlooking birch trees and doors opening onto her own patio. The tranquillity means so much to her. Though not easy to get to know, the staff have been supportive and shown her warmth and care. Over time they have come to care for my friend and it means a great
deal to her in her frail and vulnerable state. I have found her carers generally kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable - for which I am very grateful. Whenever I visit she looks clean, cared for with her hair well attended to. The room and bathroom are also clean and cared for. The meals are good and well presented. They bring one course to her at a time, now she no longer eats in the dining room. When she was more active she enjoyed the games with other residents - and cinema. And the outdoor space is sheltered and very pleasant in the summer.
The staff are always welcoming when I visit.

We booked the private dining room for a Christmas meal with Mum as it is the first year that Mum has not been well enough to be at home with us. We were welcomed warmly by all of the staff, had a beautiful 3 course meal served to us in the lovely private dining room. The food was good and the service
was not rushed and we were able to spend time with Mum without any background distractions.

My husband is a resident at The Cambridgeshire Cate Home.
The lovely staff there organised a celebration lunch for my husband and I. Nothing was too much trouble, and we enjoyed a delicious meal for two in the privacy of the library. Gifts and flowers were given to us too!

I regularly visit my aunt at The Cambridgeshire Care Home and I am always made to feel welcome. The reception staff are friendly and helpful both on the phone and in person. The nursing and care assistants are very professional and knowledgeable and are always on hand to answer any questions or concerns.
The lady who I visit is always treated very respectfully and her personal care is performed according to her needs and done to respect her dignity. There is always a varied choice of meals on offer. I was always so impressed by the range of activities put on by the home during the Covid pandemic, particularly when so many residents could not see their families and friends. Thank you.

My father's care at The Cambridgeshire Care Home is first class. Not only do they provide the best level of care you could ever wish for your loved one, but the support and kindness they give to family members are incredible. We are fully updated on every aspect of Dad's care. Recently Dad had a health
scare, and the staff were quick to get the appropriate medical attention for him, and with their care and attention, Dad made a swift recovery. Dad is very happy at The Cambridgeshire Care Home, and we are really happy that he's so well looked after.

My mother has now been a resident for nearly 5 months, and both she and I are delighted by the quality of care and support she receives. Within 10 days of moving in for respite care she decided she wanted to stay permanently and now calls it "my home". Both the physical facilities and the staff in all
departments are excellent, and nothing is too much trouble for them; my mother regularly comments on how much she appreciates all the care she receives from them. I often have lunch with my mother in the lovely Bistro for guests and personally experienced the high quality of the catering. My mother has just celebrated her 100th birthday, and the whole team could not have made this a more enjoyable and memorable experience for her, with decorations, 2 large cakes, gifts and a high-quality celebration meal for all the family organised by the catering team in the dedicated private dining room. There is a very warm and friendly atmosphere at the home and all the residents seem to be very happy. The home is very clean, tidy and well-organised. Each member of staff I have met and seen has been very kind, courteous and helpful. I couldn't recommend this home more highly. If I ever needed to be
in a care home myself, I would be very happy to be a resident at this one.

My father‘s care at The Cambridgeshire Care Home was exemplary. He resided in the nursing area of the home and sadly passed away in December 2022. The care, professionalism and compassion shown by the nursing team were incredible. As a family, we were so grateful and could not imagine any other place

I am proud to say I commissioned The Cambridgeshire Care Home in 2016 and was the manager until 2019, having worked at First Care Homes since 2011. I returned in 2022.


I have worked in the social care sector as a registered manager in a home and regional capacity for over 25 years since leaving the NHS where I was a ward sister.


I am a Registered Nurse and have a Degree in Gerontological Nursing, the Registered Managers Award and also Level 5 in management and leadership.


I love this home and want the staff to feel the same, as this then impacts our resident's experience and helps them feel at home right from day one

I enjoy working with new Residents and Families to take them on a seamless journey into their new homes. I am a very caring and passionate person and really enjoy working with older people.

I was born in Ramsey, Huntingdonshire and moved to St Ive's. I am the youngest of 6 children.


When I was younger, I wanted to be in the Police force, I passed the entrance exam, but they weren't recruiting so I went to Tesco, and carried out various roles until I became a Senior Manager, Trouble Shooter and led the Training and Development for five Stores.


I went on to become a bookkeeper and an Office Manager at Premier Electric then to Storage King in Cambridge for seven years and eventually seconded to the Bedford store for five years as Store Manager.


And here I am now at The Cambridgeshire Care Home as the Home Administrator.


I enjoy a number of hobbies, I like squash, am a very good roller skater, skier, horse rider and enjoy riding motorbikes.
