The Grand is a purpose-built, ‘new generation’ care facility which offers home-from-home care for up to 82 people in the leafy suburbs of West Bridgford in Nottingham.

The four floor home is expertly designed to provide the highest standards of safety, comfort and care, where residents can benefit from en-suite bedrooms, a beautiful lounge and dining room on each floor, and an assisted spa bathroom.

The Grand is an attractive building, blending traditional brickwork with more contemporary features. Located in a spacious area, the building boasts full height windows which extend from the ground floor to the top floor.

Carefully crafted by an interior designer, the attention to detail inside the home is impressive, with high specification and sophisticated décor designed to create stylish yet comfortable and practical spaces. The interior also features built-in infection control.

Additional facilities available at The Grand include a library, cinema, hairdresser with nail bar and bistro area.

From the moment you walk through the doors at The Grand, you can't fail to be impressed. Apart from the lovely décor, all staff are welcoming and friendly. The care my mother received was excellent. Her dignity was always maintained and kindness always shown. My mother was not always able to partake
in the numerous activities/entertainment organised by the activity staff but there are lots to keep residents occupied, which is wonderful.
I have no hesitation in recommending The Grand.

My mum was a resident in The Grand for just over 2.5 years as her vascular dementia worsened. Her care, comfort, safety and dignity was foremost in the minds of all the staff working there. At each stage they adapted to her increasing need for support, helping her stay as mobile as possible. They are
the loveliest of people and are so genuine in their care for the residents.
When my mum's health deteriorated they were happy and in fact, wanted her to remain in The Grand and not go into hospital. Their care for her was as if she were their own relative. They sat with her, and with me, offered reassurance, tea and hugs whenever needed and their clear love for my mum was very touching to see. They are a credit to their profession and I cannot thank them enough for making my mum's passing as comfortable and gentle as was possible.

A first class care home. Incredibly clean, lots of space. Rooms are all en-suite and well kept. The carers, nurses and all the staff are very cheerful, polite and do genuinely care about the residents. The dining area is fantastically laid out and the food is of a high standard and there's plenty of
it. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they have always been very helpful to me too with any questions I've had. The garden is beautiful and very well used, a beautiful setting for the residents and their families to use when the weather permits such as now. I only have good things to say about The Grand. Thank you for looking after my mum so well.

My experience of The Grand and the staff is extremely positive. The attention to detail and care is second to none. My mum has been so ill but the staff and nurses have taken such good care of her. I couldn't have wished for a lovelier place for my mum to have received such brilliant rehabilitation care. All the staff are so professional and naturally caring and friendly. My mum is sorry to be leaving.
Before she came here she was adamant she would never go into a home but now she has totally
changed her view on that.
It has been marvellous.

Tracy Johnston

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2020

I am a qualified nurse and trained at the University of Central Lancashire, qualifying in 1999. Totalling 30 years of care/nursing experience my passion lies with care homes and I have extensive management experience as a home manager including troubleshooting, care home turnaround and Regional management. These areas have given me a wealth of knowledge and decided to come back into the daily running of the care home after being out and about travelling many miles. I am proud to be part of the team here at The Grand and to work for New Care working towards its vision. My team and I are dedicated to making each day different and special for residents.


The care we deliver is person-centred, ensuring that individual needs and requirements are met. It is important to us that residents retain as much independence as possible with support to continue pursuing the interests and hobbies they have always enjoyed.


Personal hobbies and interests include family, Horse riding and my three West Highland Terriers Dave, Dottie & Alfie, A family unit themselves – you may see them in the home occasionally.

I have worked at New Care for 4 years and enjoyed my time at Ruddington Manor but transferred to The Grand for a new challenge a year ago. I enjoy my job as Care Manager and now ecstatic to be successful in my new role as the Deputy Manager. I am able to have autonomy in my role which help me thrive and feel satisfied in my role. It's ‘Grand at the Grand’ as we say and New Care look after their staff members really well with excellent opportunities for promotions, I can vouch for that. Every day is a different day and I love that we can make our residents' lives special. I love seeing them smile every day.

I have worked for New Care for over 4 years. When I first walked into The Grand I was amazed that a care home could look like a hotel; I was lost for words. I began as a Senior Carer and then transferred to the Wellbeing Team. I was then given the opportunity to lead the Wellbeing team.
New Care is a very family orientated and person centred company; nothing is too much trouble to meet the resident’s needs and wishes.
I look forward to coming to work each day, and I can’t believe I get paid to do a job that I love!

Having worked for New Care for 7 years I feel that from the very beginning I knew I had made the right decision to become an employee at New Care. I aim to provide top-quality training to all staff, by doing this allows staff to provide top-quality care to the residents.
