The Village nursing home is a modern, purpose-built home providing residential and nursing care to up to 90 people with a variety of needs.

Set in a residential area of Bromley, West Midlands, the home is close to local amenities and beauty spots. There is a bus stop right outside where the Number 2 bus goes directly into Dudley town centre.

Each bedroom is single and has en-suite facilities, residents can also relax and socialise in communal areas.

Care plans are tailored to the individual and all dietary requirements can be catered for.

Today is the first time I have been into visit my dad and I have to say it's the first time in months he has looked relaxed, so my dad obviously feels happy here. The decor and facilities are lovely and all the staff I have met have been helpful and friendly.

It has only been a week since my dad moved to The Village. The staff were so welcoming on his arrival. We have noticed a huge difference in my dad's appearance - very clean and clean-shaven. He seems calmer and happier than we have previously seen.

Great service for my brother who has, since been at the home, never been happier.
All of the staff are very friendly and answer any questions you have. Rooms are fantastic size and very homely.
Overall, I would gladly recommend anyone to bring their loved ones here.

My mom loves living here. She says it's like a 4-star hotel. The staff are very caring. It is a lovely, modern and clean fresh place, with a nice big garden.

My mom has been at The Village Nursing Home for six months. She has received fantastic care from wonderful carers. The facility is clean, professional and modern. Nothing is too much trouble and we have peace of mind that Mom is being looked after so well. Her needs both physical and emotional are met.
She enjoys having her hair done and trips out in the local area and spending time in the beautiful garden.

My husband has dementia and is and is treated by staff with compassion and patience and respect. He is also a diabetic and the nurses treat him with care, keeping his diabetes under control. The office staff are always helpful, cheerful and positive. My husband is warm, clean, well fed and comfortable.

It has taken me a long time to write this review as I am now grieving the loss of my father. He was admitted into this home in November due to dementia and not managing at home, becoming extremely forgetful. This home was meant to care for him and do a better job than myself. He went in being able to
walk, talk, feed himself. The care he received was below standard that I had to contact safeguarding and CQC, they investigated the home. My dad was an insulin dependent diabetic that needed his blood sugars to be checked regularly and receive his insulin. He was admitted into hospital with unrecordable blood sugars and being unresponsive. The hospital doctors told us we needed to prepare ourselves as he wasn't going to survive. I am unable to state in-depth what occurred at this home, however what we have experienced in our opinion is very poor substandard care and poor management. The home does not warrant any stars

Our mom was placed at the village for 2 weeks post-hospital admission. I cannot thank all the staff enough for how they have looked after mom and us, as a family. Everyone is so friendly, caring and professional. Covid visits are easy to book and they try to be as accommodating as is possible. Nothing
is too much trouble for any of the staff, the girls in the office are brilliant and are always at hand for any information you need. The girls called me for Mom to talk to me when she first arrived and was a little confused, they really put our minds at rest and were very reassuring. Thank you to all the staff, you really are a credit to the health care profession.

My Mum has been at the Village since August 2021. Following a stay in hospital, Mum’s last care home, where she had been resident for 14 months, refused to have her back because of issues with aggressive behaviour. The staff at the Village have given Mum a new lease of life with dementia. They are all
so caring, so warm-hearted, attentive to her needs and supportive when she needs it. Nothing is too much trouble. She is so happy and loves them all. She has not been this happy and settled for 3 years. From the minute you walk through the door for a visit, you and your relative are important to them. The foyer, where visits have taken place during Covid, is light, airy and comfortable. There is always coffee or tea and biscuits available. Proof of a recent LFT test is always asked for and I am happy to contribute to keeping everyone safe. Any concerns I have had have been dealt with efficiently, effectively and with care and kindness. This is a safe, happy place for those in need.

My mom has been at the Village since April and the staff are always welcoming and offer drinks and are ready to answer any questions I may have about Mom. They always check that a Covid test has been done - obviously, visitors are not allowed into the residents' living area at the moment, helping to
stop any spread of Covid. The administration staff and all the carers are always attentive to Mom and me, which makes me know that Mom is safe and well looked after there.

My 88-year-old father was at The Village for approximately twelve weeks, from September 2021.
Despite repeatedly asking to see Dad's room and daily living arrangements we weren't allowed 'onto the floor' because of the stringent Covid measures in place.
Visits could only take place in a noisy reception
area, strictly one visit per week by appointment, for thirty minutes maximum, and strictly subject to proof of a Covid test. When we visited we were rarely asked to provide evidence of the Covid test, and we were never asked to wear a mask.
We brought three bags of dad's clothes to The Village but he was rarely dressed in any of his own clothes, which was an undignified experience for him. On discharge only a few of his clothes could be found, we had to leave without them.
Dad needs two hearing aids but he was never wearing them when we visited, despite us querying this numerous times.
All of these comments have been reported to the management team during Dad's stay.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, Covid and these unpredictable times have caused many changes in the way our resident's safety is maintained. We are a complex behaviour home and due to Covid, relatives going onto the units could put residents at risk from outside Covid risk factors. Therefore designated areas for visiting were assigned to include the Reception Area, Hairdressers and Cinema Room. Designated visiting times were present to prevent noise pollution so I am sorry you found visiting to be noisy. We would have accommodated the visit in one of the other areas if you felt that way and we were made aware. We assign a staff member to either do an LFT on family/visitor or check results. We are a care facility and do have signage on the front doors and within the home to ensure visitors wear their masks as per government guidelines for health facilities and we rely on our relatives to also comply with local guidelines. Please call the management team.
