Sherwood House is a 32 bed care home specialising in caring for those with a range of Dementia. The home has been furnished to a high standard to create an environment which is bright, warm and welcoming and gives plenty of space for residents to safely explore their surroundings. Families and friends can visit at any time in a safe and comfortable home.

Their Dementia Therapeutic Practitioners' purpose is to make each day an enjoyable one for all residents. Their daily activities are designed to stimulate and provided entertainment. Reminiscence items and pictures together with memorabilia from their era are in place throughout the Home.

My mum has been at Sherwood for a little while now and she is very shy. All of the staff have made her feel very welcome and treated her with the utmost respect. The home is very modern and vibrant there is always something going on. They're always playing games or having singers for entertainment.
The food always smells amazing. It's hard to see your relatives decline but I feel comfortable in the fact that I know my mum is safe and well looked after at Sherwood.

My mother has been in Sherwood for the past 4 years. She has always been so well cared for and I'm sure not the easiest of residents to handle but hats off to the girls they are always bubbly fun and very caring. I wouldn't want Mum anywhere else.

My mum became a resident of Sherwood House almost a year ago, and I am nothing but delighted with the care and attention she receives. The communication we receive on a daily basis demonstrates the staff goes above and beyond what is expected, and questions are always answered within a short timeframe.
Mum clearly feels safe and well cared for - this is evident in her current calmer state, rarely showing any signs of anxiety. I would highly recommend Sherwood House for loved ones who require dementia care from thoroughly trained carers.

Moving Mum into Sherwood House in January was not the start to 2024 we anticipated nor wanted. However, the staff have gone above and beyond to settle mum and the support and kindness they've shown to me and my sister made a heartbreaking decision easier to live with.
The whole team are fantastic
and nothing is too much trouble. Sherwood House is clean and tidy and the residents are treated with respect and dignity. The food looks amazing with plenty of choice. The range of activities is outstanding.
The daily updates are a joy to receive via the resident's family group chat and any queries or concerns regarding Mum are communicated and responded to quickly.
Every time I visit I'm welcomed with open arms - literally - and I leave knowing Mum is safe and cared for. Thank you Sherwood House for the amazing job you do. A 5-star rating isn't enough!

From the first (unannounced) visit to Sherwood House for dementia care we have found the staff to be welcoming, knowledgeable and compassionate. We looked at a number of homes. Sherwood House is fundamentally different; the only smell is the freshly cooked food (all prepared fresh); the residents
are all well dressed and freshly groomed; they are together in the large conservatory, well supervised and entertained. There is a regular stream of updates and photos of activities on private social media, daily personal updates to the family and immediate responses to questions. My sister-in-law is also blind which compounds her situation. The staff have taken this in their stride and adapted activities to facilitate her inclusion. They have gone the extra mile to manage her vulnerable anxiety.

My dad aged only 60 years old was placed in respite at Sherwood house after being diagnosed with Alzheimers at just 58. My mum and I visited ahead of placement and were taken aback by how unbelievably friendly, supportive and understanding the team was. We knew that it was the perfect place for Dad
to be. They continue to remain a huge support to our family, reassuring us every step of the way. Thank you so much to you all!

My aunt has been in Sherwood House for just over a month now. They are doing their very best at comforting her as she is struggling but it's early days. I've visited and can say it's very clean, the staff are all lovely and they have activities on all the time which they involve her if she likes or
not. The food looks amazing, there's so much choice. It's also really nice to see the photos of what they all get up to on the private group chat. We are very much included in what she gets up to and how her day has been. It's a great place and it's really helped knowing she's safe and well looked after.

My elderly mum who suffers from advanced mixed dementia, entered the home straight from hospital back in May this year.
On multiple visits, I have always come away knowing she is in safe hands. The staff all generally honestly care about their residents. Some staff seem to have experienced the same
road my mum and I are travelling, and it's obvious it's a vocation rather than a job.
About a year ago, my sister and I visited a number of care homes, and we are so pleased Mum ended up here. It's cosy, more personal than many that we saw, and is always well staffed, and I would argue, better staffed than the others we saw.
I think Mum would have been overwhelmed by the size of the ones we saw, Sherwood is just right.
There is brilliant communication, with daily updates of the entertainment the residents receive and encouraged to participate in. Seeing a photo of your mum smiling, laughing means the world and helps to reassure. If any incident happens, again communication is quick.

I couldn't ask for a better care home, than Sherwood House to look after my mum.
It's clean, the food is excellent and the staff are amazing, friendly and caring.
I am kept fully up to date with any concerns about my mum.
The in-house activities and entertainment are second to none, residents are
encouraged to get involved, but it is their own choice, whether they choose to or not.
I'm very impressed with the amount of daily activities there are, and families are able to see their loved ones, taking part with daily updates and pictures on the care home messaging group.
Residents are made to feel extra special on their birthdays, with the chef baking them an individual birthday cake with candles. I would 100% recommend Sherwood House, it is such a relief knowing your loved one is in a safe and caring environment.

My mum will have been a resident at Sherwood House for a year in October. It was without a doubt the best choice we could have made for mum by a mile. She has settled in so well and has never asked me if she can go home. Everything about Sherwood is outstanding from the staff to the activities to the
cleanliness to the food etc. The staff are amazing and really do go above and beyond, the personal care is taken care of with such kindness and dignity. The peace of mind I have every time I leave mum speaks volumes and I don't think I would have had that anywhere else.

My Mum moved into Sherwood House in May of this year. Right from the start, the staff have shown great care and dedication to Mum's wellbeing. In the first month alone she had just about every medical check available, something we could never have managed to organise in such a short space of time. Any
health issues are dealt with efficiently and with minimum fuss and distress to Mum. There are daily activities for the residents which Mum enjoys, especially anything involving music and dancing. Family and visitors are made very welcome. I can honestly say I no longer worry about my Mum as I used to when she was living at home and that is wholly due to the care of the wonderful team at Sherwood House.

Even though I do not regularly visit the home I take considerable comfort in knowing that my cousin is very well looked after at Sherwood House. Communication is excellent and I am kept up to date with very regular images of the residents and their activities. It fills me with confidence knowing that
beyond their personal care, they are constantly challenged with games, music and exercise that contribute to their enjoyment, health, mental agility and general well-being.
My personal observation reveals a very well-run home by an exceptional team across the board. Everyone there is welcoming, friendly, caring and attentive. Best of all my cousin agrees first hand that he is very happy and content being there.

Would highly recommend everything regarding this home. The staff are lovely and are brilliant with the residents. Everyone seems happy and there are a variety of activities to keep them busy. The food is of a very high standard too.

My mum is in this care home, I think this care home and all its staff are an absolute credit to their company. They go above and beyond for all the residents. I can not praise the staff enough. Anyone wanting to put their parents into care should consider Sherwood because it is phenomenal. This is what

My mum has been a resident in Sherwood House for over two years now and in all that time I have never had any reason to complain. The staff go above and beyond to make my mum's life as fulfilled as possible.
The activities on offer are amazing and unlike other care homes, they are on offer seven days
a week. The interaction Mum receives is amazing.
The food is fabulous, always a varied menu.
I live in Wiltshire and visit Mum every Tuesday. I take her out every time and when we get back Mum is always happy to go home, which is a great comfort to me as I know she feels settled and happy.

My cousin arrived at Sherwood House in January and was warmly welcomed by the staff. He settled in very quickly and has been cared for and supported fantastically.
Staff are always around and on hand, they are so friendly and demonstrate a high level of professionalism. The facilities are great, and
activities are available for those who wish to take part.
I would definitely recommend this care home to anyone.

My long-term friend who was suffering from Parkinson's disease and dementia went into Sherwood House in March 2023. Since that date, she has settled in well. The staff are the most caring and provide activities which stimulate the residents every day. My friend is very happy and chats with the other
residents. The food is amazing. We can visit her any time and are always made welcome. I know she is safe and well cared for in Sherwood House which gives me peace of mind and has given my friend a better quality of life. I would recommend Sherwood House to everyone as a top-rate care home.
