My husband arrived beginning December after being in another care home for two years. He settled in extremely well and quickly, staff are a brilliant bunch of genuinely caring people. Food is excellent and home cooked and activities are brilliant. My husband is much more content now and has a lovely
room looking out over the front garden where there is lots of activity of cars and people coming and going, also he loves seeing the squirrels and birds. Very good move and nearer home.

My Auntie was admitted to Wood Green in July 2016. She has been really well cared for by the staff, in lovely surroundings. As a family, we have been so happy with her care during the past six years.
Unfortunately, on the 28th of September 2022, I received a phone call and was told that the home would
no longer be able to keep my Auntie, who is now 96, as the Nursing section of the home is closing.
28 elderly, frail people with dementia are being evicted from their home and I am disgusted with management and the owner of Wood Green.
Giving us until 2nd December to relocate my 96-year-old Auntie is an immoral decision and the Owner should hang his head in shame.

My husband went into Wood Green Care Home just ahead of the first lockdown. This was incredibly difficult but I was reassured by my phone calls to staff. Now, when I visit, I find my husband content, clean and comfortable. I sit in his room with an open door, so I overhear interactions between staff
and residents, and I have never heard a raised voice or crossword. I have also found staff are interested in my welfare. I feel that my husband could not be in a better place.

Mum has been in Wood Green for a month now. From our first visit, the staff have been kind, caring, helpful and professional - nothing is too much trouble and they always make time for us. Watching staff with the residents is a joy - they really do care, almost like a family. Such a hard decision for
us but Wood Green Care Home has made it that bit easier - confidently knowing Mum is being very well cared for.

The care given is excellent and staff are always available if requested to help due to unforeseen accidents (bathroom etc). The staff make time to chat with the residents even though they are run off their feet. I believe that another one or two staff could be employed to relieve the pressure that the
present staff members cope with admirably. Cleaning could do with a little more attention to detail, it is adequate but could be better. Laundry is in need of a review as clothes get mixed up or go missing.

My mum was a resident in Wood Green Care Home from March 2020 to June 2022 when she sadly passed away. Throughout the entire time she was there she was so happy and received an exceptional level of care from all members of the Wood Green team. All members of the team are worthy of praise and thanks
including management, office staff, care staff, activities staff, cleaning staff, kitchen staff and laundry staff. My mum and our entire family were always treated very professionally and with the greatest of respect. When my mum entered her period of end-of-life care the staff were exemplary in how they looked after her and indeed us as a family. The Wood Green team became part of our extended family throughout the time my mum was there and I will forever be grateful to them for the love and care my mum experienced during her time in their care.

I was like many other family carers, anxious about my dad moving into residential accommodation - especially during the global pandemic. From the outset, the staff have been excellent and I cannot fault the standard of care he receives. Staff are always on hand for any queries and willing to help.

My mother sadly passed away in Wood Green just 6 days after her 96th Birthday, she had lived there a little over 2 years and although she had dementia, she loved it and, more importantly, they loved her. Nothing was too much trouble. When her heart started to fail they kept her where she was, they could
have moved her to another floor, but they kept her in her own surroundings and looking out at the garden. Even with covid restrictions, we were kept up to date with her end of life care and we could be with Mum whenever we wanted. They went above and beyond looking after her and making her comfortable and indeed looking after us as a family. Every single member of staff are a credit to Wood Green and I'm forever grateful my mother spent her last years somewhere so wonderful, kind and caring. I would give you 10 stars if I could. On spending nights by my mother's bedside, I appreciate how difficult your job is and how wonderful you all are.

The home is very nice and very clean. The food looks good as well. The reception staff are very helpful and friendly. There is a nice, relaxed atmosphere in the home. There is much provided for the residents, which they enjoy very much; also a hairdresser and podiatrist attend the home, which is very

My mother is a long-term resident of the Nursing Home. I recently travelled from Australia to visit her. The staff communicated well with me prior to my arrival as I had many questions regarding visiting my mother as the home was locked down due to Covid.
The activities team were very good at facilitating
Zoom meetings with my mother in the time before my arrival.
It was established that my brother and I could visit without restrictions as my mother was classified as 'end of life'.
I found all the staff to be very caring and friendly. There were a few things, such as her diet, that I felt needed changed and the staff were helpful in establishing a different diet. Other concerns were addressed and the alterations are still in place.
Overall, I am very happy with my mother's care. She always seems comfortable and well cared for.

Because of Covid we were unable to visit my dad. We have been visiting under restrictions recently. Last Sunday we visited my dad and were appalled at the state my dad’s nails were in. They were full of dirt and so long? We told the staff and then emailed Wood Green. We received an email 4/5 days later
to apologise and say that when we told the staff they initiated a shower and cut our dad’s nails! So it makes us wonder when we weren’t allowed to visit during Covid how his personal hygiene was? Totally unacceptable for our beautiful caring dad who was so clean.

My grandmother (in-law) has been in Wood Green for a couple of years now and honestly, I think it was the best move she could have made. At 92 I believe it has given her more years to enjoy being looked after. Because that’s just what they do there. Covid has been difficult for everyone but when we
weren’t allowed to visit we knew she was being well cared for. If there was anything she needed that we couldn’t bring her the staff got it for her. Some would even go and have their breaks with her just to have a wee chat. It was difficult for her not to see any family for so long but she knew it was in her best interests and the staff couldn’t have been more understanding and patient. We honestly don’t think there could be a better place for her than Wood Green and I can say hand on heart that we would recommend it to anyone who is having to make the tough decision of moving a family member to residential care.

Mum is very comfortable in her room which is perfect for her as it has an ensuite facility. The staff at every level are friendly and attentive and will often go ‘the extra mile’ when she makes unexpected requests. During the pandemic, every effort was made to keep all staff and residents as safe as
possible and it is good that we can take a test each week, and if negative, can book a visit. I would have no hesitation in recommending Wood Green to anyone who needed to use such a facility. Mum also enjoys many of the entertainment days.

I would like to commend Wood Green care home for how they have conducted care, during the very difficult circumstances of the pandemic. Despite the many 'curve balls' of uncertainty and fear and it was extremely difficult with the restrictions to visiting, the staff have put their 'duty of care' to
the residents above everything. I believe they have consistently delivered excellent care and gone above and beyond that call of duty, to keep everyone safe. On behalf of my family, I want to thank everyone from management, nursing teams, administration, catering, cleaners and the activities team for their amazing dedication and care.
