Set amongst 4 acres of landscaped gardens, Woodview Care Home's two wings are home to residents who live with others requiring similar care. From minimum personal care through to extra medical staff and equipment to support those with dementia, each family is safe, secure and comfortable.

They believe that any person moving into a care home should be able to continue with a normal independent life as far as possible. This means that they choose how they'd like to live and the level of care they wish to receive, also taking into account the views of family members. Although rooms are decorated to be comfortable and cosy, Woodview invites residents to personalise their space.

What a home. My goodness, I don't know where to start... the care my dad receives is over and beyond the call of duty. The staff are amazing with both my dad and his family. We feel like family. My Dad has been a resident for 3 years and never once have we not been treated with the utmost care and professionalism.
My dad is a very happy resident and all his needs are met with happiness and good spirits. I lost my mum in June 2023 and she was also a resident. She and our family were given undivided care and respect, making my mum's death very peaceful. Staff were with us all day and night, even when they were not on duty. What a place to be associated with. Makes my heart glad we have these places for our families. Long may it continue. A very big thank you to all staff.

Can't praise this home enough, thoroughly enjoyed Ascot week activities, today ponies were brought in for residents, and the entertainment ukelele band and staff were so caring and made sure all had a fabulous time, credit to the activity coordinator, manager and all staff, nothing is too much trouble
at this home, I know my husband is in good hands.

The staff are amazing, beautiful people who could not do enough for my mum. Even when she passed the staff played one of her favourite songs and stood down the corridors walking her out and it showed that she was so loved and cared for and made us emotional. My mum also looked so lovely and happy. The
staff will forever be in our hearts

Woodview is part of Bradwell Hall Nursing Home. They said they could deal with challenging behaviour so my dad went there.
Upon my first visit, I thought it could do with decorating. The corridor reminded me of a local derelict building but entering my dad's room it was OK.
After a few weeks problems
occurred with the cleanliness of my dad's room and the state of my dad. He smelled bad one time, he wore dirty stained clothes, lay on marked bedding and his nail care was non-existent. Basic hygiene standards were poor. I complained several times. Another problem was communication. No one ever answered the phone when I rang up to see how my dad was, so I would send emails.
Not long after this, they held a review meeting with the family. They said things had to change or they would give notice. They have now given notice because I complained too much. I would not put a dog here. There are three good carers on Sneyd Unit. But it's not enough. Management is atrocious.

After my father-in-law was diagnosed with a brain tumour we needed to choose a nursing home that could provide palliative care, we were given the choice of four nursing homes, funded by NHS continuous care. This was an incredibly stressful and upsetting time, choosing somewhere for someone who was so
loved places a heavy burden of responsibility on a family. I rang Woodview Care Home and spoke to the manager to ask about the home, the visiting arrangements which are especially important due to Covid-19 and the nursing available. She was so supportive, she gave me the confidence to choose Woodview Care Home. As a family we could never express how grateful we are to the manager and the team, from the moment my father-in-law arrived, he had the most amazing care and he was treated with respect and dignity. Not only this but the family were also supported, going way above and beyond what we could have expected. Just four days later he sadly passed away but I truly believe that he could not have received better care. Forever grateful!

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.250)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.250) out of 10 for Woodview Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.3 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.958 for Woodview Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (23 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.958

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.292 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodview Care Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.167

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
