Located at the foot of the picturesque Campsie Hills, Birdston Day Care Centre is a purpose built centre offering up to 35 people transport, companionship, meals and activities seven days a week, all year long.

Designed with the older person in mind the centre is on one level and is fully accessible to wheelchair users. As well as offering the highest standards of care, there's always something to do... tea dances, arts & crafts, day trips... the list is endless, but you can guarantee service users always thoroughly enjoy themselves.

The homely interior, outstanding catering services and friendly environment make it the perfect way to spend the day.

Birdston Day Care is an outstanding centre for elderly people. My 95 year old Mother attends 3 days a week and the staff all show her an enormous amount of care, kindness and support. My Mother is so much more alive after a day at Birdston, with lots of conversation about the activities undertaken or
the people who were in to entertain them. Her comment on leaving Birdston today, 'They are all so kind, we are treated as individuals not as a lot of old imbeciles!' My family are all so grateful for the care she receives and would not hesitate in recommending this Day Care centre for other elderly people.

My husband is very happy with his place at Birdston Day Care. He enjoys the activities, especially music and singing.
He is well cared for in a safe environment and that puts my mind at rest too.
All staff are polite, friendly and very approachable.
We are happy to be a service user at Birdston.

Throughout the pandemic, the visits from the staff were a godsend. They were always encouraging and supportive. Don't think we would have got through this year without them. The staff were wonderful, full of enthusiasm and always left my mum with a smile on her face and lifted her spirits.
Birdston
Day Care has given mum a sense of belonging and purpose. Wonderful service delivered by staff that are passionate about what they do. Thank you for looking after mum.

My 97-year-old dad is delighted to be back at Birdstob Day Care. We both agree the staff and service provided is excellent! He always enjoys his lunch and tells me even sometimes gets extra soup. These visits to daycare are a lifeline to the outside world, and those few hours off me are fantastic. I
am my dad's full-time carer and appreciate the service that Birdston Day Care provide.

This is one of the best daycare facilities I’ve seen. Friendly, welcoming and brilliant atmosphere my father-in-law loves it he’s kept stimulated throughout his day and looks forward to going. The staff and management bend over backwards to help and accommodate and believe me we’ve been pretty challenging
with one thing and another just can’t thank them enough. Definitely puts the care back into caring profession.

The staff are very caring towards my dad and approachable if there’s something I need to speak to them about his care nothing is ever a problem to them. Even during the lockdown on the day he should have been at daycare they came out to the house with his lunch.

My mum looks forward to going to Birdston daycare every week, the staff are so friendly, helpful and very caring nothing seems too much trouble for them, they really do take the time to get to know who they are, the meals are great my mum tells me every time she comes home whats she’s had. They also
have great activities my mum especially loves the bingo, you also get great information and feedback from Birdston which is great peace of mind for our family knowing she enjoys it so much and is well looked after.

My mother attends Birdston Day Centre. She missed it terribly during the pandemic and is delighted to be back. The staff are welcoming, positive, warm and approachable. There is a huge and varied range of meaningful activities and fabulous food!
The Day Centre is life-enhancing for my mum who is visually
impaired and has dementia.
I cannot praise the staff highly enough.

My Dad looks forward to going to Birdstone Daycare every week, the staff are very cheerful and appear to really enjoy their jobs, the meals are great too, especially the fish and chips. The staff go out their way to be helpful. My dad doesn't tell me much but I can tell when he is happy and he is happy

How can I comment on something that is as near to perfection as you can get. (see all boxes ticked apart from one which was marked 'good').

My mother looks forward to her visits to Birdston Day Care. Every single member of staff is friendly and helpful. Their kind and enthusiastic approach encourages my mother to join in the many excellent and varied activities during the day.
The centre itself is always warm with a cosy cheerful atmosphere.
There is a high standard of cleanliness and the meals are well suited to elderly people.
I can relax when my mother is in Birdston Day Care as I know I am leaving her in safe caring hands.

I feel that Birdston provide an excellent day care service. My mother uses this service twice each week and she looks forward to meeting up with ladies that she has met there. I have found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. The 2 days that my mum attends allows me a break as well due to my mum
finding it increasingly difficult to be on her own as she gets older.

Teresa Anderson

Job Title: Day Care Manager

Teresa Anderson is a very experienced manager who has 30 years of experience working in Health and social care. Working with Glasgow City Council she was involved with setting up the pilot scheme for the tuck-in service providing later calls to vulnerable people. She has worked at Pacific Care, Birdston Daycare since 2008 as the supervisor and was promoted to the manager role in 2010.


Teresa is motivated to provide the highest quality of care for the service users who attend the centre. Services users can expect a safe, warm and comfortable environment with experienced staff who provide excellent care and an enjoyable experience.

Janet Grant

Job Title: Day Care Supervisor

Joined: 2014

Janet Grant is an experienced member of the care team. She has over twenty years experience beginning her career at Pacific Care as bank staff and soon after secured a full time position as a carer.


Over several years Janet's motivation and commitment to increase her knowledge and skills, whilst being supported by the company, successfully attained an SVQ 2 & 3, and most recently completing her SVQ4 and leader and management qualification.


Janet is also one of our dementia champions and feels that working in day care gives her a purpose, and is a very rewarding job. Janet often reflects how much of a pleasure it is looking after our service users in such a lovely environment, and knowing that she has given them her best to ensure they have a great day makes it so worthwhile.
