I could use just two words, absolutely wonderful. My partner has been attending the day centre now for about three months. I have found all the staff to be so caring, friendly and professional, my partner can be very challenging in his behaviour at times and although his dementia has taken a downturn,
he is treated with dignity and respect at all times. The manager has given me so much help and support, I don’t know how I would cope without that and the information she has given me. Going to the centre is quite a scary thing for my partner because he is not able to remember the previous visits but he is always met by one of the carers who welcomes him in such a friendly, cheerful way that I can actually see him relax. The atmosphere as you go in is happy, cheerful and frankly amazing. I want to end by saying a big thank you to all the staff and my congratulations to you for finding such a fantastic manager. Thank you.

Very pleased to come to Mills Meadow Day Centre. All the caring ladies that are there to look after us do very well, very busy all the time.
We do painting, questions to test our memory, music lady comes, plenty of games, baking, keep fit on TV, flower arranging, knitting. All are very kind and understanding.

My husband attends Mills Meadow Wellbeing Centre, a purpose-built day centre two days a week and receives excellent care in a safe and warm environment. Indeed, a very warm and friendly welcome awaits us on our arrival. The staff, led by a dedicated manager, are all very kind and compassionate and treat
my husband with dignity and respect. They all have much patience and encourage him to take part in a variety of activities.
Knowing my husband is safe and being very well cared for allows me to have some quality time to recharge my batteries.

My father is a type 1 diabetic with Alzheimers and dementia and is cared for 24/7 by my mum. We wanted to find a place for him in a day centre where he could take part in appropriate activities in a safe environment. After calling in at Mills Meadow and being made so very welcome by the manager, I knew
we had found the right place.

Dad's had 3 days so far and the difference is so noticeable. When we arrive, he is greeted with a cheery hello and a hand and is completely "at home" within minutes. The staff are thoughtful to each person's needs and cater quietly to ensure each person is comfortable. They have experienced the many faces of Alzheimers and quickly worked to understand what dad can and can't cope with and made adjustments to suit. When we arrive to drop dad off there is laughter and on picking him up, the laughter still rings out and we join in - fantastic.

My elderly mother has been attending Mills Meadow Wellbeing Centre twice a week since March this year and has always received the warmest of welcomes and very best of care. The staff provide a wide range of stimulating activities in a friendly atmosphere which mum enjoys. I am always reassured that
the staff know mum and understand the need for reassurance for someone with dementia. A wonderfully supportive team of caring staff, for those attending the day centre and relatives also.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.964) out of 10 for The Mills Meadow Club is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Adult Day Care Centre is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.964 for The Mills Meadow Club is calculated as follows: ( (136 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 140 Ratings = 4.964

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

    5 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months: 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.5 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews. (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.5, 5th = 0.5)

The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for The Mills Meadow Club is based on 13 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 = 5

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Adult Day Care Centre does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Day Club Manager

It was the highlight of my career to be named manager of the Mills Meadow Club and I’m determined to make it a happy, inviting place for local older people to meet. We treat everyone as an individual and take the time to finding out what they like to do and organise enjoyable activities to suit everyone.

Our day club is a great way for older people living independently to get together and enjoy meaningful activities for as long as they wish. At the Mills Meadow Club we’re all about making people smile, supporting them to have fun, and ensuring that they always go home having had a fulfilling day.
