DC Care is delighted to have concluded 2010 with the discreet sale of Howson Care Centre Limited to Villecourt Ltd on behalf of private owners Mr and Mrs L Howson.

Named after the vendors, The Howson Care Centre is a specialist facility in Lincolnshire providing accommodation for 78 service users within numerous care categories including old age, nursing, learning disability and mental health. Initially a care home for the elderly, the property was developed to provide dementia care plus tailored nursing facilities to specific client groups. Further developments in recent years saw the diversification into provision for clients with learning disability and mental health, in both residential and semi independent living units. The latest purpose built unit was completed just prior to the business being marketed and this provides a stimulating environment for some of the younger service users.

Villecourt Ltd initially considered purchasing the home over 2 years ago, but due to a number of factors a sale did not proceed.

The business continued to trade successfully and the strength of the ongoing relationship between Mr and Mrs Howson and DC Care ensured that there was a clear focus on achieving a formal sale at the appropriate time. Villecourt Ltd returned to acquire the business during 2010.

By adopting the role of project managers within the due diligence team, DC Care endeavoured to provide impetus to the transaction, acting as a central point for discussion and negotiation and ensure Mr and Mrs Howson remained informed and involved in the process of selling a business they have obviously put an enormous amount of time and effort into.
