“After over 17 years running Didsbury Court Rest Home in Torquay my wife and I decided that the time had come to pass on the business which we had nurtured from very poor beginnings into one of the most reputable homes in Torbay including becoming one of the first, under the old CSCI rating system, to achieve an excellent rating.

We wanted to maintain a confidential sale and DC Care were able to meet with that requirement, only introducing properly vetted potential buyers, the second of which was Ark Care Homes Limited of Bideford, North Devon, a highly reputable and ambitious group represented by Rowena Rhead (Director) and Bruce Martin (General Manager).

Andy Sandel and the team at DC Care handled the negotiations expertly and we reached a satisfactory agreement in January 2013 when the legal work was handed over to Mark Ashton of M.K. Ashton & Co. Solicitors based in Brighton upon the recommendation of DC Care. Mark Aston is highly experienced in handling both sales and purchases of care homes and using him for the sale proved to be an extremely good decision. He took us through to completion on 30th April.
