My mother has been a resident at Barton Mews for 12-years. During her time there, she has always been treated with kindness, and our family is grateful for the ongoing support of all the members of staff, who provide a very caring, secure environment.

Lovely caring environment. Residents maintain their own independence whilst having support of a caring team available 24/7. Fun activities happening throughout the week, bingo, fashion shows to name just a few. Restaurant available with lovely food either to eat in or have delivered to your apartment.
All in all a great place to retire and relax, you deserve it.

Very good atmosphere, excellent staff, restaurant, hairdresser, hobby room and IT facilities.
Ideal for a restful retirement if you have a car there are plenty of spaces.
One further facility which should not be overlooked is the location of the surgery on the ground floor.

We were apprehensive to make a move, no longer the degree of independence but with first call concern and carer have met our need exactly. The staff at the root of this, caring, experienced and thoughtful. The facilities are well maintained and clean

Excellent residential retirement apartment, thankfully little entertainment deemed suitable for the elderly! This is not a care home, though assistance is available and most willingly given. Common rooms are tired and rather dull and dated, lack of new residents perhaps due to the virus and many similar
facilities being built in nearby towns - I believe that monthly fees here compare unfavourably with similar places.
However, I am very content here - comfortable and caring.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Extra Care Housing is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.879 for Barton Mews is calculated as follows: ( (119 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 132 Ratings = 4.879

    5 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months: 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.5 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews. (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.5, 5th = 0.5)

The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Barton Mews is based on 11 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 = 5

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Extra Care Housing does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
