We visited the care home prior to being given the chance to get a room/apartment for mother. We were impressed immediately by the facilities and general cleanliness in all areas. Subsequent to mother moving into Oakes Court everything is all we could wish for in terms of staff care, attention and general
friendliness and the feelings that the staff seem to engender in the guests. We have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending them as an exemplary care home. Please reserve me a space!

Since my mother moved here, I have met many of the care workers. Without exception, they have been courteous, friendly, and helpful. One female care worker was so kind and thoughtful that it moved my mother to tears! Staff morale is clearly very high. The stated aims of Oakes Court in its brochure are
most definitely achieved. Actually, the pictures therein do not do justice to the facilities, which have to be seen to be appreciated. I was particularly impressed by the restaurant, especially by the fact that the tables have tablecloths and linen napkins, which are apparently changed daily! As for the food, my mum, who has dietary restrictions and is generally quite fussy about what she eats, said the meals are delicious. Praise indeed for the catering staff! My wife and I, along with my sister and her husband, have peace of mind, knowing that mum is in a safe, secure, and caring environment. Oakes Court truly lives up to its mission statement: "Dignity in everything we do."

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.845)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.845) out of 10 for Oakes Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Extra Care Housing is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.845 for Oakes Court is calculated as follows: ( (63 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.845

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

    5 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months: 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.5 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews. (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.5, 5th = 0.5)

The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Oakes Court is based on 6 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 = 5

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Extra Care Housing does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
