Activities Co-ordinator


Organising social activities for people who need care and support, such as trips out and in-house entertainment activities whilst maintaining their independence, choice and dignity.

Duties include creating a stimulating and varied programme of leisure activities and social events by understanding Service Users likes/dislikes and abilities, engaging the local community into the daily lives of Service Users enabling them to continue with hobbies and interests as desired and plan and organise external outings with appropriate transport.

Care Worker


To support people with all aspects of their day to day living, including social and physical activities, personal care, mobility and meal times. Daily duties can include booking and going with people to appointments, support with washing and dressing, helping with eating and drinking, taking temperatures and pulses, recording weight and assisting with medication.

Personal Assistant


Supporting individuals to live as independently as possible, usually in their own home or in the community. Duties may include helping individuals to get to work, college or university, helping with personal care such as showering and dressing, supporting with tasks around the house such as shopping, cleaning and cooking and monitoring their health.

Team Leader or Senior Care Worker


To lead or supervise a team of Care Workers, ensuring they provide high-quality care and support. Daily duties can include writing care plans, completing medical records, training and mentoring staff and monitoring patients’ vital signs.

Deputy Manager


A Deputy Manager will lead and manage the care team, helping them to deliver high standards across the service, while supporting the Manager. Daily responsibilities may include undertaking care assessments, helping with recruitment, performance management and deployment of staff, managing budgets and covering in the Manager’s absence.

Various Nurse roles


A nurse has many responsibilities in a nursing home. They look after the care of patients assigned to them and lead other care staff to ensure operations run smoothly. The various levels of responsibility will depend on the role in the nursing home.

At a basic level, Nurses make sure service users have acceptable levels of personal hygiene, clean beds and receive proper nutrition. More advanced responsibilities can include monitoring vital signs, giving IV’s, administering medication and drawing blood. 

This is a Nurse qualified role and you will either need to be registered with the NMC or in some roles working towards this.
